3 out of 5 eggsNot quite what I wanted

Pros: Crisp text, nice colors, excellent HD viewing, touchscreen

Cons: The biggest cons: 1 )The touchscreen can be temperamental, suddenly touching itself and causing your windows to fly around. 2) The audio is very quiet. With any background noise, you'll be out of luck. I can't imagine why they made is so quiet.

Other minor issues: You can see the mesh behind the glass. Few programs support touch.

5 out of 5 eggsA great monitor for Windows 8

Pros: Completely flat front allows touch swipes from the side with ease. Articulating stand allow use as touch monitor or traditional keyboard/mouse. Base acts as speaker housing, 4 port USB 3.0 hub, headphone and microphone jacks. Excellent video quality and a great OSD control panel. A really great monitor for Windows 8.touch mode.

Cons: Ethernet port in base not available unless you install DisplayLink drivers on your computer which in my case interfered with normal usage of my video adapter. The monitor has no direct support for VGA, only HDMI and DisplayPort.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a superb monitor, especially if you want to mate it with an ultrabook which can easily be detached for use on the road. It has two operating modes. The basic mode is where video & audio is transported via an HDMI or DisplayPort cable and other devices such as touch panel, webcam, and USB hub spliter are transported with a USB cable operating in USB 2.0 or 3.0 mode. A more advanced DisplayLink mode allows a single USB 3.0 cable connection for all signals. A 6 ft USB 3.0 cable is supplied with the monitor and the maximum length for USB 3.0 is 3 meters or a bit under 10 ft. The DisplayLink mode also activates the Ethernet port on the base. I found the DisplayLink software and associated driver for the additional electronics in the monitor base to be clumsily designed and written. Once installed they proved almost impossible to uninstall. In the end I disliked DisplayLink so much I re installed Windows to get rid of it. I operate in the basic two cable mode and am quite happy with the result. The basic mode does require installation of a separate Dell monitor driver package included with the monitor. That driver package has caused no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect

Pros: HDMI, Display Port, USB Video, Network, Sound, USB 3.0 Hub, Multi Touch, Sound, Web Cam,

Cons: No rear audio port.

Other Thoughts: This monitor is one of the best I've owned. I wish it was offered in a larger size. A single USB3.0 can connect the monitor to a Surface tablet, and plays full video with no problems. As a bonus, all networking and audio functions are passed over the same USB cable. HDMI and Display port do not need to be used, unless you want the better frame rates that these interfaces would achieve. I prefer the simplicity of a single cable, since I'm using this with a Surface tablet.

Since this monitor doubles as a dock, I thought that a 2nd video port out would be a welcome addition.
I added a USB to DVI video adapter onto one of the USB ports on this monitor and attached a second monitor, I had no issues including full screen video to both monitors at the same time, but removed shortly thereafter, since the 2nd monitor did not have touch capability, and I kept attempting to 'touch' the 2nd monitor.

I bet I can just order another one of these monitors, once the price comes down, then daisy chain them via USB to get the best of both.
