3 out of 5 eggsIt was amazing while it worked

Pros: Everything is adjustable, making it extremely comfortable regardless of the size / shape of your hand / grip.
It tracked extremely well for the first few months.

Cons: Tracking died a few months after purchase. I have since replaced it with another mouse.

Other Thoughts: Sniper "precision" button was kind of useless.

1 out of 5 eggsWon't Function properly

Pros: Fits comfortably in hand. Very customizable. Nice "what the hell is that thing?" factor.

Cons: WILL NOT FUNCTION properly. Left and right mouse buttons will at random stop working or the entire mouse will cease to function. In addition it will break the default mouse functionality on whatever computer I have it plugged into. Not worth the money.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat mouse

Pros: -adjustable thumb rest and palm rest
-scroll wheel and clicks feel good
-on the fly adjustable speed, perfect for running around randomly then pulling of a precision sniper shot the next moment.

Cons: -the sniper button requires the software to be installed to work. This is unacceptable since it isn't running a macro, so I haven't used the sniper button much.

-I'm not sure about the side scroll, I never tried to make it do anything since it doesn't by default. It is probably similar to the sniper button requiring software installed and running all the time to work. I've use mice with side scroll that do not require extra software.

-After about 1 year and 10 months of ownership, this mouse sometimes sends the middle click twice when I only press it once. In comparison, the right and left which get clicked way way more times don't ever do that. Perhaps they should have used the same click mechanism for the middle click, it couldn't cost much to do that, could it?

Other Thoughts: My cons section is a bit long(mostly wordy), but don't let that fool you, it's a great mouse!

Most other mice I've used in the past have usually lasted me around 1.5-2 years before having some kind of issue, so I'd say this mouse has served me well, although it is time to get a new one now.

4 out of 5 eggsLove this mouse

Pros: everything about it, except...

Cons: the software used to map the different buttons. The CD that came with my mouse didn't even work, though it installed fine from the website. it is easy to use, but will sometimes crash for no reason.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is one of the best mice that i have ever owned. i really love the customization of the mouse as i have large hands, i can make it fit me, not be expected to fit it. I have owned it for going on 2 years now, it is still as precise as the day i took it out of the package.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome but lacks quality

Pros: Extreme comfort.
Got used to it quickly.
Very accurate.
Great for gaming.
Very precise scroll wheel for changing weapons, etc.
Customizations are great.

Cons: Broke already after 2 years of easy use.
"Sniper" button is kind of useless - It puts a lot of pressure on your hand to engage it causing some shakiness and extra effort that can easily mess up your shot. I just don't use it ever. When sniping I just press the down-sensitivity button. It's in a good place and works fine for me.
Mouse cord could use an extra foot.

Other Thoughts: The RMA process is ok. It took them a week to email me back about the issue. I didn't think anyone else would be having the same issues until I read the reviews. It's all the same. Mouse begins to lag and jump around on the screen. It isn't a drivers issue or an issue with hair/stuff getting in the laser. It's just hardware failure. It also decides to not be recognized by the USB port when plugging it in. You have to unplug it like 7 times for it to see the mouse and things work. And apparently, according to their website, it flat out doesn't work in usb 3.0 ports. Say what? Practically everything is 3.0 now!

Aside from the problems, it is a great mouse that I would recommend to someone else.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse, but breaks fast.

Pros: The functionality is great. I live being able to scroll the thumb mouse wheel for various things between games, and the two thumb buttons for Ventrilo, though I never use precision aim. Ergonomic too, I really like the design.

Cons: After about 4-5 months the mouse cuts off every once in a while. It gets more frequent over the course of two months to now. I haven't done anything to it to damage it. If this weren't the case 5 eggs, or stars, or whatever.

Other Thoughts: Overall a good mouse, just make sure to know the warranty and know where to get it RMA'd.

3 out of 5 eggsgreat while it worked

Pros: appearance, functionality, accuracy, weight.

Cons: every once in awhile i would have to blow into the bottom of the mouse to remove a hair that was blocking the laser

Other Thoughts: lasted only 29 months.
it no longer tracks movement.
no obstructions, i disassembled it and thoroughly cleaned it.. cant get it to work anymore.

2 out of 5 eggsyay!.. awww :(

Pros: great feel to it, love the adjustable weight, and bought it for the adjustable palm and interchangeable pinky rests. If you have very large hands like I do this thing will make the pain from long hours at the computer go away.

Cons: it dies very quickly, to much money for something that must be replaced so often.

Other Thoughts: bought it for the size and on recommendation from a friend. was very happy with it. but not long after I got it I had to RMA it. they were cool about it and took care of it quickly, which was great. however at 8 months the second one is shot. 1st mouse lost it's vertical movement. it would go side to side but zero up and down. 2nd mouse bounces all over the screen. stand back and watch, every 2 minutes it will make 3 to 5 passes over the screen in random jumps.

2 out of 5 eggsMad Catz Rat 7

Pros: Still has some remnants of the REAL RAT 7. An ergonomic dream, but certainly not worth the price you pay. Now using the classic logi g9x.

Cons: The original manufactuers of this mouse were bought out by a terrible company with no customer service. They now charge more for the mouse, put dumb cat scratch logos on the mouse AND skimped on the accessories case that cyborg used to ship. Now you store your spare grips and pinky rests in the cardboard box that you bought the mouse in....seriously...not even kidding. You pay more, and get MUCH less. Do NOT consider this mouse.

Other Thoughts: If you want to use the "precision Aim" button for anything you need the Rat 7. Anyone without Gigantic hands will need to adjust the thumb rest and that only comes with the rat 7 and 9. It is also worth noting that the precision aim button is not typically used for aiming. I have a 2:1 KD ratio in bf3 and never use the button.

PLEASE disregard any manufacturer responses to this complaint. They are purely to make the company seem as if they care when the clearly do not.

3 out of 5 eggsAbysmal customer service

Pros: Mouse is good for large hands, adjustable, looks cool and works well...when it works.

Cons: I had problems with it from the beginning, resolved by unplugging and replugging it in when starting Windows. I emailed MadCatz about it, received a reply weeks later, sent my reply to them and three weeks after that have still heard nothing despite repeated requests. Their customer service is abysmal.

Other Thoughts: If it wasn't for the customer service, I would have given this mouse five stars.
