Saitek Pro Flight Combat Series X52 H.O.T.A.S. System for PC and Mac
Precise Combat Flight Sim Action

Smooth and Accurate Combat Flight Simulator Action

The X52 helps make you the ace in your squadron with its full arsenal of buttons, switches, and multiple control axes. Saitek's X52 defines precise flight simulator operation, employing a multifunction LCD for easy access to an astounding 282 programmable commands. Coordinate your flight plan with clock and stopwatch function, plus an adjustable handle to accommodate a wide range of hand sizes.

Precision Dual-Spring Centering Mechanism

A highly accurate centering mechanism ensures the joystick will easily return to the neutral position whenever you need it to. Non-contact technology on the X and Y axes, along with constant spring force, enhance control while increasing durability.

Advanced Grip Adjustment System

Advanced Grip Adjustment System

A five-position handle adjustment system conforms to your grip style. And to promote maximum comfort during long flights, the joystick's handle also features contours which harmonize with your digits.

3D Twist with Rudder Lock

3D Twist with Rudder Lock

The joystick's twist rudder controls add another dimension of command to simulated flight. If you prefer more traditional control, a rudder lock switch disables the twist capabilities and confines input to the X and Y axes—ideal for use with Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals (sold separately).

Progressive Throttle with Resistance Adjustment

Progressive Throttle with Resistance Adjustment

Boasting detents for afterburner and idle, the throttle unit's progressive functionality improves aircraft response. Yet another customizable feature found on the X52, a tension adjustment dial lets you choose the throttle's resistance to suit the way you fly.

Multifunction LCD Display

Multifunction LCD Display

The X52's LCD screen—with adjustable backlighting—enables you to view information about your button configurations with only a quick glance. Even more beneficial is the ability to directly manipulate radio stack information in FSX, X-Plane, Prepar3D, and most flight simulation software. You can then use the buttons residing below the screen to cycle through essential radio stack functions.

Powerful Programming Software

Powerful Programming Software (PC Only)

After installing downloadable software, you are then free to create custom profiles for different flight sim software. Three mode settings and a pinkie switch provide enhanced programming options for even more control options in your favorite sim.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat stick with some minor flaws

Pros: is made from mostly plastic but still feels very sturdy
has alot of buttons and everything works as expected

Cons: Would rather have rudder buttons then the twist rudder but that's probably just me

suction cups are not enough to keep both pieces stable. I had to put some mousepad-like material on the bottom to keep them stable. the suction cups included keep them from lifting up but they still slide around alot.

Other Thoughts: Overall i'm pleased with this HOTAS, for the money it's everthing I was asking for. Seeing the stick you're using while playing Elite: Dangerous is very cool.

2 out of 5 eggsJury is Out

Pros: Good Layout, lots of buttons, and the throttle is basically perfect

Cons: Minot problem with the tension on the stick, but my big problem is that it doesn't seem to center. The Z and X axis both drift to the left as soon as I touch either one (it starts fine, but once I start maneuvering the rotation on both drifts to the left). I've tried troubleshooting and I'm waiting to hear from Saitek Mad Catz customer service right now. If they can help, this is probably a 4-5 star item for the price.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat stick, QA problems

Pros: A nice, smooth, easy feel, and it did work, for the most part. Plug and play with many buttons. There is a fast "selector switch" on the joystick, which means you'll be able to store multiple profiles in the software and switch on the fly, making lots of button assignments with no problems.

Cons: The X52 unfortunately has a lot of slop in production that MadCatz *needs* to clean up. I wanted to keep mine, but the lower hat on the joystick wouldn't properly depress left and kept toggling other selections. How hard is it to make a proper button in 2015? I did like most of the other aspects to the setup, but I wasn't a fan of the profiler software (it's not clean or clearly usable, but I was able to figure it out) or complexity of switching modes, either. If all of these issues were fixed, it would be great, but everyone here is right - you're playing X52 lotto here folks!

Other Thoughts: The contour of the stick wasn't comfortable to my hands, strangely, even though it was adjustable. This was surprising to me, as everyone talks about how nice it feels. I also got the Thrustmaster Warthog, and I'm still surprised at how close it and my MS stick are, with this one being quite far behind the other two for ergonomics. For now, I'm going back to my trusty ol' Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 (Red Eye edition) that I got used on the bay of electronic-ness.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Stick

Pros: None

Cons: The flash of the joystick as it loses power to the joystick. i can be in a bank and holding the stick and the joystick will flash/turn off and when it comes back on, it will reset the throttle as if the bank i'm holding is center. This major flaw has put me into the ground numerous times and is even worse with helicopters as you are flying low to the ground and you don't have time to fix the problem by pulling the power plug on the back of the stick. DO NOT BUY THIS STICK. The frustration is not worth the cash. if you want one, find one that was made before Saitek was bought out by MAD KATZ. that is when the quality of the stick and customer service when down. check a resell site and find one there

Other Thoughts: look me up on steam and contact me if you have any questions.

4 out of 5 eggsQuirky joystick but it's nice!

Pros: It's big, lots of buttons, fun to use once you get through the driver install. I'm happy with it enough to buy another for a friend.

Cons: -Quirky drivers which are hard to find. You need to do some profile trickery to unlock two of the buttons as well.
-Many people claim the the joystick is death prone. The only problem I've had is that the cable that connects the joystick to the throttle. Sometimes the pins can get bent if you're not paying attention (but this is easily fixable).

There's also a sensitivity issue for the precision users. This can be solved with a magnet trick but it voids the warranty.

Other Thoughts: I looked at the x55 and it's a bit over the top for what I want. What I'd like is buttons and not switches.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome HOTAS!

Pros: Super nice quality HOTAS setup. I am really surprised, and I love it so far. I use it with Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen. Right out of the box it has a great, intuitive profile for Elite Dangerous.

The stick is really smooth with quality buttons, and so is the throttle. I am super happy with this HOTAS.

I would highly recommend this HOTAS to my friends. The quality is much higher than I expected. I like it more than the x55 Rhino, plus it is $50 - $75 cheaper!

Cons: The only "con" I can think of is that it is light, so it is possible to scoot it if you really turn it hard. But if you're turning it hard, you're doing it wrong. Plus they include suction cups to keep it on the table. I don't need them though after just a few short sessions of use, even for the throttle (which feels awesome!).

Other Thoughts: This thing is great. I don't know how it has the bad reviews that it does. I really like it a lot! I had an x55, and it had a couple issues so I returned it. I was unsure if this joystick, being the same brand, would work for me. Turns out, it is really awesome and I'm really happy with the purchase! One reason I got the x55 was because of some of the bad reviews on this HOTAS setup. I'm sorry I listened to those and am really happy with this thing!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent starter hotas

Pros: very programmable, good price, nice feel in your hand.

Cons: none i can think of.

Other Thoughts: they gave me really old drivers on the disc and i had to go to their website to get it working. but that was easy and it is a grat stick at a good price.

5 out of 5 eggsDont be fooled by bad reviews

Pros: Everything about this setup is a pro.

Cons: The only cons are the bad reviews that nearly kept me from getting it.

Other Thoughts: this setup instantly worked flawlessly with zero effort. there was no software problems, no driver issues and no durability issues. 9/10 bad reviews on here were written by people who obviously have no idea what they are doing. get this and you wont regret it.

1 out of 5 eggsFlight Stick just keeps flashing

Pros: thrust works great, it was easy to set up.

Cons: The actual flight stick doesn't work it just has its lights flashing constantly when plugged in. I've searched through multiple forums on how to fix this and nothing has worked.

Other Thoughts: The quality of the power port on the flight stick seems very low for a $120 setup.

1 out of 5 eggsCable problems

Pros: Not sure. I have to order other connectors to get it to work.

Cons: The joystick uses a PS/2 cable and does not have USB option like the throttle. The USB cable on the throttle is very short.
