5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Similar build to the previous model.
Removes the volume control from the wire and places it on the headset itself. This fixes many problems.
Great sound.
Just typical great Sennheiser quality.

Cons: Brand new headset snugness, but this obviously goes away in due time.

Other Thoughts: Listen up, I'll give it to you straight, because if you're down here reading reviews you just want to know what's up. IGNORE the bad review. That person clearly has NO clue what they are talking about. I mean you read the last line stating that Sennheiser's are not good headsets for gaming and you immediately know that it's seriously bogus. Sennheiser's are always beasts for gaming and this is no different.
The previous model placed the volume control on the wire and over time this would create a whole slew of issues from sound cutting out, your microphone creating horrible sounds for others, or just simply caused it stop working. GONE. The control is now on your headset itself (right side.) I'll be straight with you, this applies to all Sennheiser's, it will ALWAYS sound better with a nice sound card, but that does not mean it will sound poorly without one. I haven't purchased a sound card in years and you can live without it. Price? Who cares. I've seen people in the past talk about how they can buy a video card for the price of a Sennheiser headset. Let's keep it real though, if you are a regular Sennheiser customer, are you really dropping only 200 or lower on a video card? Chances are low. Even if you do buy video cards at that price line are you really surprised by this price point on a Sennheiser? Chances again are low. You get what you pay for. When you shell out almost no money, get a cheap headset, you know it. When you pay for the premium, you know it. Stop debating it, buy it.

1 out of 5 eggsEdit to first review

Pros: Feels great. Looks cool.

Cons: Box came with just the headset inside. Nothing else. Didn't feel special at all when I opened it.
I had this paired with the Creative Labs Soundblaster Z.
The sound was horrible. I came from a Steel Series Siberia v2,
and all I can say for 100 dollars less I have alot better sounding headset. I play FPS games, so sound is very Crucial to me.
No matter what equalizer settings or SBX settings in my sound card, I could not get this headset to sound good at all. My brother is a professional in Pro Audio and even with his assistance we couldn't get the job done. In CS:GO, sitting in D2 all I hear is alot of WIND from the map, it picks up sound, but all the sound is VERY cluttered. If people talk in mumble, it just takes out any sound of my game, and yes I've changed the settings in mumble and Windows so it does NOT turn down my game. The bass SUCKS. There is little to no bass in these headphones at all. Even with Scout mode enabled on my card, I couldn't get any great sound. Buyers beware. This headset was not for me, I felt like I was in a fish bowl the entire time. AND, returning the Item new egg charged me 15% charge back for this dull purchase that I only owned for 2 weeks. I take care of my products, there is not a scratch or wear on this headset. So overall this is my first time being ripped off by newegg. Thanks alot.

Other Thoughts: My friend ended up buying the same exact headset. He came from Sennheiser 558 series headset, which is not a gaming headset. (one of the reasons why I bought this headset). He ended up returning his headset aswell after 2nd day of use. He had the same thought as I did with the sound quality being horrible. Sennheiser is a great brand, great name. But for gaming they are not there yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Headset

Pros: Great Crystal Sound.
Great mic quality.
Feels great on the ears and feels like a firm headset overall.

Cons: I spent 180 dollars on this headset and its not much different than my Siberia headset i've had for years.

Other Thoughts: I came from the Siberia v2 headset which is about 80 dollars right now.
There are some cases where I feel the Siberias (For my ears I guess)
were alot better sound wise when playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Sometimes this headset feels almost overbearing to where there is just sound everywhere and I cant hear anything vividly as I thought I would paying so much money for a headset.
I'm just trying to give my perspective if anyone else has come from this, maybe I need to tweak something? I'm not sure. When in game, I can hear everything as usual, but sometimes when people are firing alot of bullets, and people are talking in mumble, and im trying to listen for something specific, I cant determine what I'm hearing and its hard to make out.
I will do some more research, but straight out of the box it hasnt been the best fit for me. I have a sound blaster Z sound card paired with this headset.
Netflix, music, all of that sounds pretty good, alot more clear in voices and such. But as an every day gamer I'm not completely satisified yet, but I will still give 5 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headphones

Pros: Volume control is on the outside of the right earphone so no more trying to find it on the cord. Being able to mute the mic by lifting the boom. Sound quality is excellent for headphones. Built SOLID and COMFORTABLE.

Cons: price

Other Thoughts: After using these for almost 6 months and using them for gaming and some time listening to music I would definitely recommend these. They have fallen off my desk a few times and seem to be no worse off for the experience. So far the mechanism that that mutes the mic when the boom is lifted still works, which was a concern when purchasing. If you have the cash and you want a well built, great sounding, and comfortable headset I would recommend these to you

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic Until...

Pros: Great Sound
Very Comfortable

Cons: Stopped working

Other Thoughts: I couldn't ask for anything better in the sound department. They are built strong it feels. Something inside the right earphone with the volume control has shorted or has poor connection. Sometimes I get sound out of it and sometimes I do not. Currently checking into warranty options as i've only owned for 2 months and I purchased a extended warranty deal as well.

4 out of 5 eggsBes I've Owned

Pros: Sound quality is really great after a little equalizer tweaking. Comfort is perfect after stretching the head band out with a day or two of use and it fits my large ears. Nice soft braided cable and 1/8" connectors don't feel like they are going to fall apart. I've been told that the microphone quality is good. There's a volume roller on the right ear that I didn't know would be there and I'm glad, I don't like the in-line volume controls. No more ear sweat, the vented design is very functional.

Cons: For the price I expected a sturdier feeling design. I don't think they can take a beating, though I've owned them for a short time and could be proven wrong.

Other Thoughts: I've owned a lot of headphones, this set replaced my Logitech G35s that just broke. The G4ame one feels superior in every way to the G35.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sennheiser quality - VERY sturdy.

Perfect sound, amazing fullness and depth.

Open build makes it so I can still hear people trying to bother me, but they really have to speak up, which for me is the perfect balance.

Cons: A little pricey, but if you want quality sound you pay a bit more.

Other Thoughts: I've read that the microphone captures your voice well also, but I have yet to do any voice communications with it.
