5 out of 5 eggs#1 Most Accurate Optical

Pros: This is by far the most accurate optical mouse on the market. It's weight and balance with ergonomic thumb rest midsize and mouse which is superbly built.

Cons: Your hand size must fit this mouse or you will not like it.

Other Thoughts: This is a midsize palm which can be used in a claw grip very easily and very manageable.

5 out of 5 eggsBest FPS mouse!

Pros: *Uses the Avago A3090 optical sensor (flawless tracking, no positive/negative acceleration issues, no angle-snapping)
*Omron switches for left & right-click buttons
*Lightweight
*Anti-sweat/slip coating on its surface
*Strong, braided mouse cord
*Minimalist design for serious FPS games: L/R-click and buttons you can set for DPI changes.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Most people fall for the mainstream manufacturer’s marketing which leads you to believe that laser sensors are “better” than optical. The truth is- every laser sensor is flawed in some way. The Avago A9500 sensor and their newest A9800 in most laser mice today suffer from ~5% positive acceleration. This means the sensor will always overcompensate for your input on the mice by about 5%. This is not good for FPS games as it will ALWAYS throw your aim slightly off. The Philips twin-eye laser suffers from the z-axis bug, if you lift the mouse up-off the surface the sensor will go crazy and move the cursor down to the bottom of the screen.
The only solution to your FPS woes is to go with a mouse with a flawless optical sensor. But even with optical mice it’s hard to find a good one. Some have poor build quality: not as great switches, cheap shell material w/ faulty fitment, slippery surfaces when your hands sweat, and cheap cords that lose data connection and break even over normal wear, etc.
This narrowed my personal search down to the Logitech G400 or this mouse. Unfortunately, the cheap cord on the Logitech G400 tends to break all the time so that puts you out of a mouse. The cord on the new upcoming Logitech G400s looks the same as the G400 so they probably haven’t fixed that issue. Thus, the Roccat Savu is the best solution to a flawless and quality FPS mouse.
The ROCCAT software is excellent and virtually exhaustive in customization so you can pretty much program it to do everything you need.
My own personal settings have the LED light color set to different profiles to match my settings for specific games: Red-Mass Effect 3/Crysis 3, Purple-StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, Light-orange-COD: Black Ops 2, Deep Orange-Valve FPS games.

5 out of 5 eggsBest mid-size optical mouse

Pros: A3090 Sensor. Tracks flawless with no jitter, prediction, or acceleration. No angle snapping. Very low LOD with cloth mouse pad.

Best sensor and on par/better than the G400 and Deathadder 2013 optical accuracy.

Built with full Omron switches left, right & side buttons. No TTC switch fillers.

Firmware / software works great. No bugs.

Cons: None.

The size can be a CON for big hands as this is not a full size mouse. It's not a lefty mouse either but not a CON as it's not intended to be ambidextrous. This size puts it in a class of it's own.

Other Thoughts: The person below who said this mouse has jitters dosen't know how to use a mouse because lowering polling to 125Hz takes care of any jitter at 4000 DPI.

The other DPI's 400/800/1600 DPI are flawless even at 1000 MHz polling rate.

By far this is the top of the line sensors. If your hand is too big this will be uncomfortable. However the performance and build are all top quality.

If this mouse size works for you it's a refreshing mouse. Gaming with it has been very accurate in FPS. Easily manipulated.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: Lightweight
Flawless Tracking (no jitter, prediction, acceleration)
Great Build Quality

Cons: None, unless the shape doesn't appeal to you.

Other Thoughts: I don't know how these other reviewers gave this mouse such a bad review. It's one of the best mice out on the market right now. The sensor has no jitter, acceleration, or prediction and has a perfect control speed of 3+m/s at all dpis. The switches feel great since they're OMRON and it uses an ALPS optical encoder for the wheel, which feels solid as a rock with no wobble.

Check out the thread on the overclock forums for even more positive feedback from people who are really in the know when it comes to mouse technology.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Mouse

Pros: Very lightweight and comfortable for those who prefer a smaller mouse. Extremely accurate sensor, software is high quality and easy to use. Switches in the buttons are just firm enough - won't strain your fingers but they don't accidentally click either.

Ergonomics are excellent for right-handers, as long as you prefer to rest your hand mostly on the desk. This is an ideal mouse for people who grip with their fingertips.

Build quality is very high - no weird rattles or loose switches. The wheel is very precise and solid.

Cons: Like most gaming mice, the configuration software only works on Windows, so Mac owners will need to find a Windows machine to configure it. Right-hand only, the mouse isn't designed for ambidextrous use.

Other Thoughts: I was getting pain in my hand after a long day of work. I do design work so I usually use gaming mice for the extra precision, but the current crop of gaming mice tends to be very heavy and large, adding to the potential for RSI. The Savu has eliminated the pain. It's probably the most accurate, responsive mouse I've ever used - and I've tried mice from every major manufacturer in the space.

One of those products that immediately makes you feel like you need to order a couple more in case they stop making it.

Bottom line: if you like to rest your hand on the table and grip with your fingertips or if you have smaller hands, this is the one you're looking for.

2 out of 5 eggsJittery is as Jittery Does

Pros: Looks nice. Driver software is clean and easy to use. Achievements are cool, but that voice will leave you wondering where the hell it came from.

Cons: Jittery, jittery, jittery. There are times when the mouse cursor will move on my desktop without even touching the mouse. It's accuracy isn't that great either. Even after updating the firmware at least twice, it's still a fairly miserable user experience. The non sweat side grips are awful at first and feel like sandpaper, but after having used it for a while the surface isn't as bad.

Other Thoughts: I don't think this mouse is ready for prime time, even with the sterling reviews it's received.

2 out of 5 eggsHow do you spell RMA?

Pros: Custom lighting effect. If your PC powers the USB port while off, the mouse continues to light up even after the PC is turned off, which is cool.

Cons: You know it's going to be bad when the only "Pros" are the lighting effects. The mouse is uncomfortable, even for small hands. Awkward side button placement makes side buttons difficult to use. Feels cheap, especially due to its light weight. Tendency not track well at slow speeds (tested at 1600dpi). Price.

Other Thoughts: There's a reason why Newegg just received this item in stock and there's already an open box available. I don't know why there are other online reviews touting the build quality of this mouse; it feels cheap and lightweight. The grippy surface coatings, which aren't on the top of the mouse but only the sides, has the texture of sandpaper not smooth rubber. Worse, my inexpensive laser mouse has better tracking at slow speeds. Perhaps it's my mousing surfaces, but the tracking oftentimes just stops when aiming, requiring me to move it more than necessary and then backtrack, which is obviously really bad in fast-paced FPS. Completely unhappy.
