5 out of 5 eggs1 RMA, 21 months later

Pros: Very comfortable to grip hour after hour, day after day.
Wrapped cord is durable and easy to manage.
The button binding system is brilliant. I have a total of 7 extra actions I can do with one hand, and I can create extra profiles for different games/programs. And all of this by using only 2 thumb buttons.
LEDs can be customized or turned off.
Savu software is really easy to use.
All stats and configuration data are saved directly to the mouse, so all key bindings, macros, and profiles will work on any* computer without installing any software (* I have not yet tested Windows multimedia actions on Linux; it definitely works on Windows).

Cons: Had to RMA the first one because the blue LED died within a few hours, which was a small hassle.
Second one I've had for almost 2 years, and the blue LED finally gave out today (I never used the green or red, so they work just fine). Very small thing; I don't really care.

Other Thoughts: German efficiency for the win.

I got this for $30 in a Flash sale. Awesome value. When this one finally breaks, I'll probably buy another.

Profiles are a very interesting concept. I can have special keybindings and macros for different games or programs. It is pretty cool, but not everyone will find it too useful (i.e. I haven't used it much because I find the keyboard is easy enough in most games).

Savu software displays statistics, in case you find that interesting. I have >95k left clicks (>300 since I started writing this review), >27k right clicks, 4.7k middle clicks, 200 thumb button #1 clicks (set to left control for control clicking), and 1130 thumb button #2 clicks (set to enter EasyShift[+] mode). I've scrolled up >89k times and scrolled down >101k times. I have used EasyShift[+] combinations 4050 times, and I've moved the mouse a total of 1251 meters (on mousepad, not on screen). Pretty cool, but not exactly a pro or con--it'll appeal to some people, but it's nice to have.

I have not had much experience using this on Linux. I'll boot Ubuntu 14.04 from a flash drive in a bit and will update this review with the results.

5 out of 5 eggsJust Feels Good

Pros: Great touch, precise, quick, sharp yet light buttons. Time will tell as they wear. Lightness feels cheap in the air, but once on-surface (I use a hardwood table) the mouse feels planted and delicate. The profile of the gliders has everything to do with that. Keep your surface clean.

Allegedly superior optical detector. Pure position sensing. It's now very easy to feel out individual pixels at high res. Windows sensitivity at 6/11 needless to say.

There are "lineup" photos with other mice for comparison. This ROCCAT is the same size as most to my eye. Fine for average adult hands.

Buttons 4 and 5 are good, and there aren't many other places to put lightweight buttons on a mouse this size.

Plug and play, auto-detected to 800 DPI at 2560x1440 which is perfect. 400 is to slow, 1600 is to twitchy.

LED is fun, blah blah blah.

Cons: I would have liked some weighting options. I still think a little more mass on the table would help.

Ambidextrous at the expense of a flat right thumb surface (I'm right handed). Sometimes I overgrip the mouse a bit. It's so light and slippy, I'm best remembering to let my thumb float along side. Gotta appreciate the love for lefties, still 5 eggs

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse!

Pros: This mouse is amazing. After falling for the SS sensei trap, that mouse finally died and replaced it with this beauty. The sensor is amazing, buttons feel great, mouse feels great and it looks great! I love how the dpi is incremental, so none of that in between fiddling. I bought this to play CS and it is doing exactly what I want it to. I also love the polling rate, I would buy again!

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGood, Beautiful Mouse

Pros: This mouse worked straight out of the box. It feels really nice and smooth with a good mousepad under it. The clicks and scrolling all feel great. The pulsing colors on the botton are gorgeous, and I sometimes just stare at it.

Cons: At first it feels light, almost fragile, but as you use it you get used to it and it feels nice in the hand.

Cord could be longer, but not enough of an issue to take an egg of.

Other Thoughts: Overall, great mouse 5/5 would buy again/recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsSexy, Light, Great Customization.

Pros: This is easily the best gaming mouse I have ever used. I upgrade to this from a Razer Deathadder and was very hesitant to make the switch, but this mouse is freaking awesome! The grip is great if you have sweaty hands and this thing is ridiculously light and easy to move.

You can switch the settings from a handy program on your PC. The thing I like most is the ability to change the LED colors to match your theme. Love it!

Cons: You get trophies from Roccat for achievements with your mouse (based on number of clicks, scrolls, etc). When you get a trophy your computer says, "Congratulations, you've won a trophy" in a super creepy voice. I thought I had a virus for the first few weeks haha. Definitely not worth taking off an egg, but just an odd feature.

Other Thoughts: Get this mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsVery satisfied, very solid gaming mouse

Pros: Immediately upon plugging and getting the software up and running, the first thing that I noticed was the high quality of the mouse. Nothing was loose, rattled, or moved without intention.

The mouse wheel has to be one of the most responsive and satisfying wheels I’ve ever used.

The mouse is very light, which is nice for my preference for FPS. Every button the mouse clicks with a very tactile feel.

The "no-sweat" grip is a nice change of pace from the standard glossy treatment of standard mice.

The included software is quite robust and allows for an array of options to be changed, such as scoll wheel speed, button profiles, light color patterns, DPI settings, etc.

Uses one of the best optical sensors on the market (search for ADNS-3090).

Cons: My only complaint that I could think of is with the DPI levels and how you can change them. So, there are no dedicated DPI switching buttons on the mouse itself. Also, the DPI levels only are 400, 800, 1600, and 4000. While the mouse tracks very well on all of the DPIs because of the fantastic sensor there are no in-between levels.

I personally game at 800 so this was not a huge issue, but for those who like incremental steps, be forewarned that this mouse doesn't have that! To get around not having dedicated DPI buttons, the software uses a proprietary system called "Easy-Shift+". Essentially allowing one of the thumb buttons to become a shift button, in a sense, and then each other button on the mouse has a secondary assignable function. I assigned my mouse "Easy-Shift+" and Mouse Wheel Up and Down to raise and lower the DPI.

Other Thoughts: The mouse is definitely designed with a palm/claw and/or claw only grip with smaller size hands in mind. From the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger is 185mms, for reference, and I can comfortably grip the mouse.

I hope this review helps out! Overall, I am very satisfied with the mouse, from its high quality build, the pleasing aesthetics, and its stellar gaming performance.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost Great

Pros: Built to the highest degree of quality. Has some of the best scroll and button feel I have ever felt. Braided cable. Cool LED lighting adds personality to an other wise boring looking mouse. I personally love the feel of the smooth top and textured sides. Very, Very accurate. Programmable shift button is ingenious, it doubles the function of your buttons.

Cons: No dedicated DPI buttons. Permanent selected DPI settings. This is why I knock off one egg. It is completely idiotic to not give the user the choice of what their DPI settings should be. Especially when it jumps from 1600 to 4000 and nothing in between. Also, I just can't get comfortable with this mouse. For me it is way to small for palm grip. So I use a sort of claw grip but the thumb buttons are set to far back. If the thumb buttons where more forward I think it would feel better.

Other Thoughts: I bought this at a brick and mortor on sale for $35 and I think it is the best quality mouse I have ever owned. I have been using mice since Windows 3.1, and I have tried them all. My last mouse was a G400 which felt great but Logitec is having quality issues, so I tried something new. Roccat makes a high quality and well constructed mouse. I wanted to like this mouse but it is just to small. So I'm just going to buy the "Kone pure optical", something I would recommend to anyone with bigger hands that may be interested in the Savu.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: This is my first ROCCAT gaming mouse and I'm very impressed with it. Avago A3090 optical sensor is absolutely flawless. No acceleration/prediction, no useless angle-snapping and no input lag. The tracking is simply flawless. The shape of this mouse is perfect and very comfortable. Scoring headshots is incredibly easy. ROCCAT software feels mature and easy to navigate with many options. The scroll wheel has perfect click/scroll IMO.

Cons: The only downside that I see is the lack of dedicated DPI switches and no adjustable weight tuning system.

Other Thoughts: ADNS-9800 sensor is used in many gaming mice today. Unfortunately it suffers with cursor delay or input lag. I was not aware of this issue when I purchased Corsair M65 mouse. Due to cursor input lag of the ADNS-9800 sensor my FPS gaming experience was virtually crippled. MIONIX and ROCCAT have released firmware updates to resolve this issue. Unfortunately Corsair M65/95 and Logitech G500s did not receive much needed fix. I highly recommend that you avoid Logitech G500s, G600 Corsair M65 and M95. The lack of updates and buggy software is simply not worth the headache. There own forms are filled with dissatisfied customers, yet no one seems to care.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I was looking for!

Pros: Side grips are amazing. The sensor is flawless. The mouse buttons feel solid. The scroll wheel is probably the best I've ever used.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I picked this up on sale for 40$. Well spent.
