3 out of 5 eggsBosey

Pros: None

Cons: -Bose is overpriced, always.
-Bose doesn't publish any specifications, the reason is their sound quality almost universally sucks (they claim they don't because knowing the specifications would 'ruin the experience' between user and product *bose employee proceeds to taste his farts while smacking lips*).
Bose has poor quality because their frequency range is smaller than other brands and their wave forms are usually all over the place.
-Bose is like Apple, if Apple had absolutely no redeeming qualities besides style. Bose markets like crazy, sells polished turds at high margins, and hides their lack of quality behind.

Bose is kind of like the Monster Cable of speakers.

Other Thoughts: There is a reason music professionals do not buy Bose. I highly suspect a lot of these reviews are plants :/.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome headphones for original price

Pros: Used to be $130 originally
Exceptional sound quality for $130 price
Comfy ear pads
ears comfortably fit deep into the cans
Durable ear pads that don't dry up and crack
My first pads lasted many years without visual wear
extremely light weight
long life span
Fairly durable
Good flexible range on cans

Cons: Have replaced the headphone plug many many times
Plug is very difficult, but not impossible to replace.
Cable lacks durability
Could use more padding on the headband

Other Thoughts: It's a shame the price is $200 now. I paid $130 for them many years ago when they were still sold in stores before the AE2s came out, which do not even compare to how good these headphones are. They took a major step back with the AE2s. Maybe they feared the AE1s were too good,

Ignoring the price tag, these are definitely a great pair of headphones. They have a fairly flat response, but that doesn't mean they have now bass. In fact I think it's spot on. The bass in these perform very well. It's punchy, it can get low, it can handle the wubs, it can pound all when it needs to be there. The bass is never muddy or too loud. There could be some louder bass on the super low end, but what do you expect. The mids and highs are extremely clear and bring out sounds you never knew existed in your music. Distortion is not a problem with these. Some sounds will sound like they are in the room with you, very creepy some times. This makes them awesome for video games, as it becomes very easy to detect where sounds are coming from.

Just excellent headphones. If you can get them fairly cheap then I completely recommend them. I even like them better than my ATH M50s because they are more comfortable.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Amazing sound, by far the best and highest quality pair I've even owned.
Very accurate highs and very accurate base down to the lowest freqs. They don't show off a lot of bass which I like. The overall balance of the headphones is very nice. nothing gets too loud. The very high freqs do not blare, the very low bass is very clean and tight.
The ear cusions are very comfortable and fit well around the ear without causing pressure points. I've slept with these, moved with them, gone through airports with them for almost 4 years. everything except for the plug has held together.

Cons: The top head band can become uncomfortable and is not padded well enough, but if you adjust it well enough you can lessen the pressure on top of your head.
The cable plug became shorted recently. I had it replaced and now they work again. I would not recommend doing it yourself because of the lacquer coating on the wires.

Other Thoughts: Awesome quality sound for the price.
comfort is great for the price, but could be better
I've listened to a pair of those beats headphones which are equal value, and I think these have much better quality sound.
Definitely worth the buy

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome set of headphones

Pros: The sound quality is excellent and the attached wire is plenty long.

Cons: I wear them backwards with the right ear on my left ear and vice versa. It may be that I have a weird shaped head, but this is the only way I can wear them for extended time (10+ hrs)

5 out of 5 eggsTrusty 6 year old headphones!

Pros: Everything in the "details" section.

Cons: Some people have complained that the bass is too weak; I have no idea what they mean. I would say the base is simply not overwhelming - it's clean and doesn't get in the way of the mids & highs.

Other Thoughts: I remember first using these to listen to Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral at least 6 years ago. Since then, they've seen use to the point where the ear cushions are VERY worn, and I've taped together the plastic part just below where the metal band is exposed (when the adjustment is extended to larger sizes). Nevertheless, I've become attached to these headphones. If I'm listening to a new album that I really want to appreciate, I use these headphones.

1 out of 5 eggsCushions poorly made

Pros: Good sound and comfortable

Cons: The covering over the foam cushions came apart at the seams. I used the headphones very little. I would expect that something from Bose would have better quality. When I contacted Bose they told me they were sorry and I could purchase new cushions.

5 out of 5 eggsLove 'em

Pros: I've had these Bose headphones for nearly two years now and I have not experienced any of the deterioration experienced by others. The padding around the ear is still in like new condition, the sound quality has always been fantastic, and they seem to stand up well to mild abuse. I've rolled over the cable with my office chair numerous times and accidentally yanked the plug from the jack a couple times and it's still working great. I use these mostly for listening to music on my computer at work.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I paid the about $135 for these about two years ago so this $50 off you see now is a good deal. Detachable cable would be nice which is offered on some Bose headphones, but not these.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: These headphones really had a great "wow" effect when I first tried them in terms of quality of music.

Cons: After 2 years of owning them (but not using them very often) the cushons are deteriorating a bit which I wouldn't mind if Bose didnt want $35 to replace them (the cushons that is) Also these headphones aren't all that great at blocking out ambient noise for being around-ear style

Other Thoughts: Good headphones, but to me not worth 100+ dollars

3 out of 5 eggsMeh after 1 ear

Pros: Great sounding and comfortable.

Cons: Just like all the rest have been saying. The cushions deteriorate and the plastic housing broke due to natural wear right below where it has an L and the spot where the R is cracked. Bose offered to replace the headset for $60 and the new headset has a new 1 yr warranty. I guess this is better than nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: I love there bose headphones ive had them since Christmas and have not had one problem with them. They are by far the greatest headphones ive ever owned. The sounds is crisp and still holding up perfect.

Cons: the head band around the top does start to hurt after awhile so you need to move it around but other than that perfect.
