1 out of 5 eggsno good

Pros: works fine when it works

Cons: right of the bat would caused my motherboard to freeze all the time, took me two years to this figure out.

Other Thoughts: when troubleshooting problems with your pc, and you start replacing hardware, always start with the cheap part like this cheap DVD burner. Only pro that I can think of, is how much I learn troubleshooting and after removing the burner my pc now runs great.

5 out of 5 eggsgood burner

Pros: Price is right on this unit. Does the burning and ripping of DVDs and CDs to my like. Color of the unit is consistent and seems to be constructed decent.

Cons: The thing gets LOUD when burning, but it's not technically a con because I know the things working overtime for me.

Other Thoughts: Great unit for the price!!! would buy again and recommend to anyone that needs a DVD/CD R/RW

3 out of 5 eggsIts ok

Pros: Fast and cheap

Cons: Tray mechanism broke (or went wonka). What I meant was when I want it to eject, sometimes it'll not eject. Either via the button or software. It gets stuck from time to time. Also very noisy =(

Other Thoughts: It was good when it worked.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: easy to instal and cheap

Cons: i've had this one replaced by newegg once already and now i had to buy another and it's been less than 6 months. I just stops reconizing disk, and manufacture doesn't matter. i will prolly never buy a lite writer again as i burn a avg 4-6 disk a day.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the trouble

1 out of 5 eggs...

Pros: Worked great for a period of time. Good quality. Lightscribe looked good. Never a problem with a disc burned in this drive.

Cons: Almost exactly one year after I bought it, it simply stopped recognizing discs. Unfortunately, it was a couple days longer than one year after I bought it, so I just missed the deadline to request an RMA by a whopping 40 hours... I most likely will never buy from Lite-On again, but we'll see how my new LG model does before I make a commitment

Other Thoughts: A good drive, if you don't mind buying and installing a new one exactly one year later.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: No problems at all. Works faster then i expected easy install. it came with two face plates white and black. I think I've actually burned a ~4.5 GB ISO to a DVD in a max of 5 min, although this was comming from a SATA HDD.

Cons: none thus

4 out of 5 eggsgood stuff... slightly annoying

Pros: Good burner, does what it's supposed to and at the speed listed.

Cons: some days this thing is so loud I cant stand it! like honest to gosh it sounds like i'm cooking a hot pocket in my comp. Full on 1000W microwave style, with added tinge of vibration.

Other Thoughts: looks nice, matches my black case, nothin too fancy. i dont have much exposure to optical drives, but i can say i've had much much quieter ones. after all the noise might be my case, but i doubt it.

3 out of 5 eggsDrive works great, issue it was causing was not so great

Pros: Good price, no issues using media or burning BUT...

Cons: It's rather loud when it spins up AND...

Other Thoughts: I ended up having to disconnect the drive because it was causing DPC spikes that would freeze my system for a few seconds at a time. I'm not putting this in the 'con' section because I don't know for sure that it's the drive itself, or drivers, or something with my mobo that's causing the issue. My research into it thus far hasn't come up with much related to this issue, so all I know is the 'what', but not the 'why'. Might be some way to fix it.
