Pros: There is not one derogatory comment that I could make about this DVD drive. I have used it from installing software to watching movies and it is still going strong. I was impressed with the increase of read speed, from the standard 16x to 18x. I must admit I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this unit, when I learned that JoeBot experienced a problem with one of the mounting holes not being drilled properly. I am happy to report; I did not encounter such an issue. I would recommend this particular drive to anyone.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: Thinking about contacting Lite-on to see if I can purchase additionals belts. In time belts begin to stretch and than break.

Pros: Paired with Sony Opti burner. Got it on sale with free shipping. Replaced my ide Lite On with this Lite on Sata rom. Better speed is nice. Plays dvd movies or music cds just fine.

Cons: None, a lot of people mention spin up noise. I can not hear it over my case fans. My antec 1200 has some big fans. So I really don't hear anything over them.

Other Thoughts: Just be sure to load the region on both the Rom and DVD burner. You should be good to go? Both of my new pieces of hardware were plug and play. Windows 7 64 bit, with Ashampoo burning program 9.
