Pros: This drive is very quiet and is an overall amazing drive for the price. No drivers needed, just make sure it has the latest firmware SB01, which came pre-loaded on my drive.
Cons: I have not found any yet.
Other Thoughts: When I first installed the drive, I could not play DVD's, and while many people may think this is a drive issue, I know better. I checked the device manager for possible issues, and when I found none, I decided to uninstall the device using device manager, and delete the upper and lower filters in the registry (Google and Microsoft help a lot with this if you need help understanding). After I rebooted my machine, the device worked great (I did however need to install some of my software again to allow burning). If you can't get it to work, just know that it is more than likely not a hardware issue, but rather a Microsoft XP/Vista issue. No special drivers are needed, but XP/Vista may think that the drive is still the old drive, and try to use the old drivers. Best of luck, and hope you enjoy the drive as much as I do!

Good Drive- OEM (no cables etc)

Pros: Fast drive that reads everything and has LightScribe. Fairly quite operation; it's sitting about 2 feet away at head level. Hummimg slightly louder than my 120mm case fan (rated@18dB) while burning DVD's. Tray opens/closes quick. Proven Sony Optiarc quality. I had issues with my Samsung drive reading certain programs properly, but my old Sony CD/DVD drive could properly. My new case with just one drive opening needed a burner that can do it all properly. I've tried other brands in the past but I looked toward Sony again. This drive DOES IT ALL and faster than most. Not disappointed with this drive; worth the extra few bucks.
Cons: It's not THE quietest drive I've owned, BUT it's faster than all of those as well. Sound is a small sacrifice for speed. $5 more than i wanted to pay vs Samsung or LG; BUT worth the money. I had to pay for shipping (it went free 2 days after my order).
People like Arc who don't understand what "OEM" stands for. A little research goes a long way to avoid displaying your own ignorance. Newegg, Google and WikiPedia everything BEFORE you make your purchases and post your ratings. (climbs down from soapbox)

Pros: Does what it is supposed to do.
Cons: Can't think of any.
Other Thoughts: Just using the drive as a generic DVD drive. Don't to any authoring and very little ripping. Haven't used LightScribe on the drive.

Pros: I don't burn many CDs or DVDs, but I tested out the lightscribe functionality of the drive, and it works very well. Cheap.
Cons: It's OEM, it doesn't come with cables.
Other Thoughts: Follow the instructions here to make lightscribe work http://www.lightscribe.com/. You need a small driver, and a program that can support the feature.
