The AW-Q170A-B2 internal DVD burner gives you the capability to write to many of the most popular optical media formats. Dual-layer support lets you write up to 8.5GB onto a single disc.

This multi-format DVD burner uses the popular E-IDE interface for maximum system compatibility. You can easily upgrade an older system or add it to a new build.

With write speeds of up to 18X for writable DVD±R media and 48X for CD-R media this drive makes short work of any task you give it. A 2MB cache buffer helps to ensure data discs not coasters.

Burns DVD+R Cons: I agree with some people, It sounds like a freaking jet plane. If it didn't sound like one, it would have gotten a 5. Other Thoughts: Better quality than the HP dvdwriter 740 burner by Hitachi-LG DATA STORAGE. If you have a HP LightScribe, replace it immediately with this. Did you find this review helpful? Other Thoughts: I have Microsoft Vista and this drive was not being detected. Cons: You never know when it's going to stop working and your computer won't boot.My first one was "dead on arival" The replacement lasted less than three months.I'm on my third one now and we'll see how long this one last.Sooner or later I'll get a good one. Cons: Was trying to install a game which started out fine but about 30 seconds into the install the device bursts into a loud noise and ejects the disc. When I say loud I'm talking like the drive slammed into a hammer. Now the drive needless to say doesn't work but I've since used an older drive which installed the game fine.
