The LG GSA-H22L 18X Super Multi drive writes in most DVD formats, brings you dual-layer DVD capability, along with LightScribe creativity, and LG build-quality. All Good, But Broke in 6 mos.
- Pros: Everything about the drive was just great. No complaints, except when it broke.
- Cons: It broke within 6 mos. of very lite usage. The drive gears began grinding on occassions and wouldn't stop until drawer forced open. I sent the drive to LG repair in Austin and they sent the same drive back to me, unrepaired and without explanation. My guess is that the problem, being intermittent, wasn't duplicated by the technician. Although, when customer services was called for the return authorisation, they were informed of exactly what kind of problem it was.
It's been sent back a 2nd time, now. I'm waiting on its return. This will determine whether I want to try LG again.
- Other Thoughts: I bought LG's drive because of their reputation. I've got an old CDRW drive I've had for about 7 years. It's slow, but evidently it was made at a time before corps. began using such cheap parts.
I have a Samsung DVDRW/CDRW drive also that I bought c. 14mos. ago and the CD functions in it have stoppped working. This is what I mean by cheap parts.
Don't throw away your old optical drives, they may save your bacon some time.

Very quiet, fast cd burn, fast dvd burn, barely hear it.
- Cons: Little loud when reading discs
but i can deal with that, its not that bad
- Other Thoughts: Use mainly for burning cds and dvds
If you need another drive that does it, THIS IS THE ONE!

Great Item
- Pros: Light scribe, Fast Burning, Multi Format Burning Cabalility
- Cons: not really any
- Other Thoughts: to Comment on the Guy who had to reformat the C: Drive. That would only be due the driver failure: user error durring install, or windows enviorment compatibility issue. there is no what that the hardware itself can destroy the windows eviorment he just needed to get an updated driver for it.
Very Good Burner
- Pros: This burner has worked perfectly since I installed it. It installed quickly, no problems, and I've been burning disc and Lightscribe labels with no coasters.
