Pros: Worked perfctly right out of the box (Vista) easy to install and use (my non techy son) installed and used it within 30 min of recieving as x-mas gift. Puts his pics on cd's he burns.

Slow,VERY SLOW, did I mention it was SLOW??

Pros: It was $22.99 and the color of Black.

Cons: It will begin to read a CD DVD and whine louder as it reads/writes faster. Then after 5 seconds the noise goes down and so does the speed. So you get 5 seconds of rocket speed followed by seconds to minutes of 'finishing' the disc. The reason I mention this is since 1998 I've owned a CD or DVD drive and they've all had that same fault.

Other Thoughts: Is it possible to make a DVD drive that will BUILD to a speed AND STAY THERE UNTIL THE JOB IS COMPLETED?

I'd pay $20 more for that feature!!!
I guess if you're going to buy the drive you might as well since drives $40 more aren't going to be without this THING I described.
Oh Well, it was only about $23 with shipping and tax.
You mean you live in a state that doesn't TAX internet sales? Lucky you :-)

Pros: quiet, cheap, fast, reads all disks I throw at it

Other Thoughts: Do not buy LITE-ON drives
