5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Burns plays and loves DVDs like a champ. Does everything it should, goes great with my netbook, no need for powercord when on the go.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: To the one complaining about playing DVDs. Do a google search for 'free dvd codecs'.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Been burning double layer dvd's like a champ! Small, silent, fast; I love the fact that the lens comes out with the tray, which allows for serious cleaning of the laser lens, in case you need it someday! Probably about 95% of dvd/cd burners that "die" or stop burning/reading certain brands, it's due to a dirty laser lens.
Bus powered (but don't worry, works very well with the double USB cable for extra power)

Cons: The best way to use it is plugged in to its own USB hub (with the double-USB cable provided), and just plug in the hub when you need to use it.

Pros: Works and burns dual layer (DL) DVDs.

Cons: Plugged into my Hackintosh (Dell Mini 9 w/ OSX 10.5.7) needs to be plugged and unplugged between reading disks to be used.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the hassle

Pros: No power cord, small

Cons: Mean time between failures: 4 discs. Uses multiple USB ports. Very poor support from Samsung.

Other Thoughts: Had to send the unit in for repair three times, was replaced twice, in two months. Spent as much time in the shop as it did in service. Still doesn't work correctly.
