Had Samsung before
- Pros: This will make my third Samsung I have had. I have put two of these in my desktop, one a SATA the other an ATA, they burn flawesly, the reason for buying a third, the ATA quit reading & burning. I burn & read disk constantly so 1 1/2 year out of one & it quiting on me I am not disapointed at all. The price ROCKS so how can I complain! No Coasters, burns correct EVERY TIME!
Oh the third one I bought was a SATA, my LAN UT mother board will accomadate many SATA devices so I went with it instead of ATA.
- Cons: Needs to come with a SATA cable, that would be so nice! Other than that none!

tried upgrading and downgrading firmware with no luck
it's just a bad drive.
- Other Thoughts: never got anything from newegg that never worked except this. can't rma it because it is past the reurn policy. wich is my fault because i had the drive over a month before i decided to try it. never going to happen again.

Works great!
- Pros: I've purchased a few dozen of these drives and have never had a failure. I only buy these burners now, no need to look anywhere else.
- Cons: Never in stock; every time I buy these drives (I'm always building computers), they are either sold out, or I buy all the remaining units.
- Other Thoughts: These are great drives. Fast & reliable are two things you don't commonly hear about computer parts, but these drives meet both requirements well.
