1 out of 5 eggsOutdated Junk

Pros: Works but onboard audio is far better than this

Cons: Cannot get the full affect if you have anything higher than Windows Vista.
5.1's don't enable unless EAX was on and the presets were awful. I'd rather connect 2.1s via my onboard sound since the quality was much more crisp than this altered, unnatural sound this card provides.
Drivers come with EQ ONLY with XP. Doesn't roll over to win 7.

Other Thoughts: Needed a sound card since my MOBO is only supports 2.0 and I have 5.1s. I have windows 7 ultimate, the drivers worked but failed to provide its full potential as it was dropped after XP/Vista drivers. RMA'd this product to buy an ASUS xonar DSX since it is compatible with my OS. Waste of time and money to buy this product since it's so outdated. If you're going to get a creative card, go for the high end 100+ dollar cards.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for speakers only, not for headphones through front panel audio jacks!

Pros: - Works with Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, but you must download the drivers from the website. The drivers on the CD is outdated and will cause major problems.
- Way better audio quality compared to integrated Realtek.

Cons: There is no way to connect the HD audio front panel header to this sound card, since it uses a "Creative Proprietary connector". You can buy an adapter, but it will come from China along with a 5+ weeks in shipping. Search for "Front panel audio adapter cable For creative sound card" in Google.

Other Thoughts: This sound card is good for using either speakers or headphones only. If you want to switch from using speakers to headphones, you would need to unplug your speakers from behind your computer then plug in your headphone jack and vice versa each time.

2 out of 5 eggsUseless due to corner cutting

Pros: It's a card. It makes sound.

Cons: -Microphone and Digital out use the same plug, so you can't use both at once
-This is one of the few Creative cards that does not support "What-U-Hear" aka "Stereo Mix", which I need in some programs.

Other Thoughts: I'm frankly shocked to find *two* fatal (for my uses) screw ups with this card from a company that's been making sound cards for over 20 years. I know this is a low-end card, but a dedicated sound card has become an increasingly rare specialty item, and in this era they really shouldn't be selling ones that are hit & miss.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the hassle

Pros: NOTHING! ....a good cardboard for recycling.

Cons: My onboard sound has much more features than this thing.

Other Thoughts: The good old Creative has taken away all the good features like EQ presets and EAX console in Windows 7 and 8. Don't waste your time money, buy something else.

4 out of 5 eggsCreative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

Pros: Worked from the start, good size, plenty of output jacks, nice software and easily adjustable.

Cons: None, as far the product goes. I believe the performance issues im having are due to my lack of keeping the software updated.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this for a low budget computer, works great for what i need. Purchased in 2008, and it still works today. I have been lacking on updating the software/drivers or w/e so ive been having an issue with it not recognizing cables being plugged in. Other then that i like the card for what it is, good budget buy.

1 out of 5 eggsAnnoyance

Pros: Sound card

Cons: Sound Card from hell. Ran into a multitude of problems less than a day. Creative control panel fails to open. Have reinstalled the drivers multiple times and multiple ways, Still cannot get it to work. Worked fine first 7hrs I had it..

Cant play with many settings in 5.1 or 5.7. Seems to be pretty bare bones but its nice.. WHEN IT WORKS.

Other Thoughts: While It was working fine.. only complaint is unable to set subwoofer settings.. now it doesn't matter as I cant change anything including 5.1 options. Getting a RMA Refund for this piece of garbage >.< Buy something else.. please this was 4hrs of troubleshooting and Creative takes forever to respond to customer service and there website forums as well.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice card for a x 16, a bit outdated

Cons: old tech

Other Thoughts: almost all new computers use the x 1 so be careful when you purchase this and look at your slots. .small slots are the x 1 slots. Sounds redundant . almost stupid to the geeks out there but for the layman, which hiding my head I am not. I am a network engineer who has had no need to update my gaming computer until now lol.

Check your slots!

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Sounds good when it worked

Cons: Had it replaced once already because it was DOA and 1 month later... Dead! Last 3 Creative sounds cards I had to much trouble with. Good Bye Creative!

Manufacturer Response:

Hi there,

We're sorry for the experience you had with this card. This sounds like a bad run of luck with this card, or there was a voltage issue with the system causing the cards to fail.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap. that is all

Cons: Honestly the hardest piece I have ever tried to install on a computer. Couldn't ever get it to work right and the drivers for this card are horrendous. 2006 CD comes in box and the online downloads didn't recognize the card. On top of that no instructions came with it. Tried every forum out there for help to no avail. Unless you are a computer guru i would not recommend this for anyone. Too much headache for not much performance.
