Options
- Pros: I bought this camera for my wife because it has an "easy" setting. The easy setting is the ideal point and shoot that eliminates the need to set any options and is therefore well suited to anyone who just wants to take pictures. I also bought a 4G SDHC card which allows almost 2K pictures at the highest resolution. My wife is delighted with the camera and has shot a couple of hundred pictures, all on the easy setting (the one with the little red heart). Because of the 8mp resolution I am able to edit and crop the pictures without losing detail. I have played with the camera just enough to learn that the advanced features are very comparable to some of my larger and much more expensives cameras. It won't replace a SLR but it has become our main travel camera because of its small size, it is simple enough to keep my wife happy and complex enough to keep me happy.
- Cons: None at this time.
- Other Thoughts: This is a versatile little camera suitable for the novice as well as the intermediate photographer.
Very happy with this camera
- Pros: Excellent! Feature packed, ability to use different lens packages and accessories, great for both novice and semi-pro. The program setting is awesome reminds me of my old Canon AE-1 program SLR.
- Cons: None at this time.
- Other Thoughts: READ THE BLESSED MANUAL!!! This camera has so many features and can do so much so before one says it's junk try reading the manual and get to know what the camera can do it goes far beyond a simple point and shoot however, it's a great P&S too just read the manual. I bought this camera to replace an aging Nikon coolpix 4300 for my photo work I am a 3d artist and modeler and use this camera to take pictures of different items to use as textures on my models. I also take images of the coins in my collection and the camera is fantastic when used on a copy stand. I have only used Nikon and Canon cameras (my best camera was a Canon AE-1 Program) and this is a solid camera.

Battery Issues
- Pros: Works well with alkaline batteries.
- Cons: Had to send in to Cannon to repair an issue with focus and not working with rechargeable batteries. Seems to only work with "factory recommended" NiMh batteries according to them. I have tried 3 brands of commonly available High capacity rechargeable batteries and all show low battery after 4 or 5 pictures. A common problem online.
Great Camera for the Family
- Pros: Right off the bat, I want to make it clear that I am not a professional photographer and this is, in fact, the first digital camera I've ever personally owned.
It takes great photos indoors or out. I really only use it on the "automatic" setting. It also has an "easy" setting, but to be completely honest I don't notice a difference between the two at all. It has quite a few other modes and tons of tweakable settings to make people who know what they're doing more than satisfied.
The video mode is also quite impressive. It records in 640x480 and records sound too.
Just plug the thing into your computer with the USB cable they package with it, and download your pictures onto the computer. Couldn't be easier.
I got a FREE (including shipping) 4GB memory card and a travel bag when I bought it.
Best value for the money IMO and I did some shopping around before I decided on this camera.
- Cons: The memory card that comes with the camera is only 32MB... Not a problem if you get the combo deal I got, or if you have a bigger card, but they might as well have not included it with the camera. It's probably only good for a dozen or so photos.
You'll probably need to read the manual to figure out how to work it's advanced features and settings. But that's obviously to be expected.
- Other Thoughts: I can't say too much more, because I've only used it on a handful of occasions since I bought it, but if you're like me and want a camera for the family that's not neccessarily "cheap", but undoubtedly a great value, then I recommend it.
Excellent camera!
- Pros: Incredibly inexpensive, takes amazing pictures. This has features and functions normally only found in much more expensive cameras. To those few negative interviewers complaining about battery life: No, you didn't try NiMh 2500ma batteries, or you wouldn't be complaining. I bought some NiMh batteries from Walgreen's (of all places), charged them up and they lasted for a week before my vacation, through the vacation and for 2 weeks after. Well over 300 pictures. I finally changed them out because I felt I should, but had no warning from the camera about low battery level. The automatic face-finding feature works great and it takes great pictures in all the "auto" modes, but really stands out in manual mode. As a bonus, it even takes decent video! There is no way an honest person can complain about this camera, especially for 110 bones, along with a 19.99 bundled flash memory AND case, with a 19.99 rebate. I LOVE newegg and their bundle offers!
- Cons: None. I LOVE this camera.
- Other Thoughts: It might not be as "sexy" looking as some of the thinner models, but it sure feels better in my hands. It just feels right; the batter compartment gives you something to hold on to. Don't get me wrong, it's still REALLY small, just not as thin as other models.
