4 out of 5 eggsGood Picture Quality

Pros: Picture taken very satisfied. White balance make you easily take a bright picture in low light environment. Auto mode or auto flash mode just like "Canon Digital Shooting for Dummy". You may have to hold the "Take" button during/after took a picture in order not blur or occur any problem because your hand shakes. One words, photo taken process is slower than other model.

Cons: Battery problem with regular alkaline AA, sucks to end quickly, but long lasting with NiMH rechargeable AA if you insert it in camera right after recharge completed. The regular recharge NiMH AA will self-discharge while storage on/not on charger. Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable AA will be final solution if you wish to purchase new ones which cost nearly $10 for 4 on internet. Anyway most of all kinds rechargeable AA batteries will end their life after 2/3 years no matter how you use them.

Other Thoughts: We learned the battery lesson after threw away many regular AA with deep disappointed feeling to Canon and Newegg, but finally find out why and how to solve after search on internet, Newegg must have a USAGE (NOT) RECOMMENDATION section to guide people wisely use products before they tried to return or told everybody a bad story about Canon or Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Camera

Pros: Takes great pictures. The zoom is amazing. If you an amateur, set it on auto and go and the results are awesome. If your more technical oriented, you can play with settings and get the picture you desire.

AA batteries are slick..just switch them out if they die and you don't have to worry about your camera dying because you have to recharge it.

Cons: The AA batteries that come with it are well..horrible. Get some good quality ones, even rechargeables.

Other Thoughts: Excellent camera. Highly recommend

3 out of 5 eggsFlash Delay sucks

Pros: Zoom, very very nice. Ease of use: good. Image Stability: Good.

Cons: I'm not camera expert. 'Upgrading' from a Canon SD450 that's 7 years old to this camera was irritating to say the least. Anytime you use the flash you have to wait from 5 to 10 seconds for the capacitor to recharge is annoying to say the least. If they had included a internal rechargeable high capacity battery this would be a great camera, as it is, it's merely adequete.

Other Thoughts: Honestly, the only advantage this gives me over my 7 year old camera is sensor size (12 megapixels vs 4.5) and zoom. If I could have used this for a day before I bought it - I never would have purchased it.

Different batteries alleviate the problem but do not solve it. Needs more power than the double As can give it.

4 out of 5 eggsas advertised

Pros: Inexpensive, plenty of features/ options/ shooting modes, ease of operation

Cons: Slow recharge after flash, eats batteries. Need QuickTime to view movies (.mov format)

Other Thoughts: It was between this model or the G12, $$ won. I actually found this camera $50.00 cheaper elsewhere but shipping and order fullfillment was nowhere near the quality of NewEgg.

4 out of 5 eggsawesome camera so far

Pros: for a non dslr camera you wont find much better. lightweight, solid feel and great features. though some may find it to be a con, it runs off of two AA batteries but i prefer them as they're cheaper and easier to change out then having spare lithium ion batteries which are $$$.

Cons: Flash recharge! Several seconds after you take a picture with the flash its ready to take another. I personally dont find it to be a con as i'm not the type to need that kind of speed but others might. Only reason I didnt give this camera 5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: Worth every penny if you're looking for a good camera but cant or wont shell out for a dslr.

3 out of 5 eggsVideo Recording

Pros: To my last review I love the camera for it's photography capabilities but I wanted to also record with it for concert events: (1). Way I have file set on my camera for photography and filming file of video frame was 1280 x 720 and got 29 FPS on one file.. (2). High quality visualization on my computer and uploading directly to facebook.

Cons: now the cons I like to record local events for friends and other bands to help them out for people who miss their shows.. anyways, I'll start out with my first problem after it finally uploaded on computer (took a long time).. (1). "Boom" distortion sound - I call it this because if you've seen videos on youtube you hear that awful boom sound and cannot capture the quality of the video and just ruins it so I ran into that problem (2) just how long it took to upload

Other Thoughts: So my other thoughts.. I gave it 3 stars cause it balances out so if you're recording events that are either just speeches (graduation from school, rec kids etc) the quality is great but if you're going to record something loud like a rock concert it's not that great. I'm making this review for those who are looking for doing what I do recording and photography. But for the recording it could be where you are positioned, sound set up and how loud or low everything is

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Camera

Pros: I bought this to replace my wife's other camera and by far it surpasses it in every way. Canon always comes out on top in my book! Takes great pics and HD video even thou its not 1080p its still great for what it is.

Cons: None @ this point.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommended this camera to any1 either being a beginner or a pro.

4 out of 5 eggsCamera = Love

Pros: Love it Love it Love it... I went from a Sony DSC W230 to this camera and loved it... Pros: Excellent picture quality took it out for test drive for first time today and went out to take pictures of animals outside at a lake and with 48x zoom (max) the pictures came out perfect! Doesn't look grainy at all maybe when taking pics in low lighting it'll look grainy on LCD but when it comes out looks great! Also you can Manually set up how you want to take the photo's like shutter speed, aperture, color (i.e. low, high contrast, b&w, sepia, custom, etc)

Cons: Battery! 2 AA - don't like this but what can I do cept buy rechargeable spares.. Little heavy and screen abit close to the buttons on the side but that's ok

Other Thoughts: Bought it at Best Buy for little less than here (didn't see it on newegg until now) .. Reason I bought camera was the zoom and stabilizer (on lens) .. Have yet to test it out going to local concerts for friends to record / photograph but I'm sure I won't be too disappointed. I hope this review helps the next buyer! Gave it 4 eggs cause of the battery and how fragile it is so I'm 200% careful with it

4 out of 5 eggsFragile

Pros: Very good quality images at a budget price. Potentially professional results depending on lighting and processing software. "Super zoom" (12x) point and shoot. Very good depth, color and clarity. Purple fringe on high contrast images is virtually non-existent.

Cons: Plastic lens cover is very fragile. If you purchase this camera, it would be a good idea to buy a case for it and keep it tethered to your body. I dropped this camera one time from 3 feet and had to replace it. (It wasn't cheap)

Other Thoughts: Price vs. quality of image makes this model a winner. Just don't drop it.
