5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

Pros: amazing features & outstanding photo and video quality. Canon quality it phenomenal.

Cons: pricey, but you really get what you pay for. I upgraded from a Canon Rebel XS mainly because I wanted greater resolution and faster FPS. I loved the Rebel XS, only sold it to buy this one.

Other Thoughts: Overall, as an enthusiast photographer, I am happy with the upgrade to this camera. Get yourself the 50mm lens and have some creative fun!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome SLR

Pros: Whole camera is awesome, including the lens. Processor is fast.

Cons: Wish it was still a metal case like the previous 50D.

Other Thoughts: Great camera. If you are really picky, the viewfinder (compared to actual picture) is only 96% compared to the 7D which is 100% but more expensive and still uses old CF cards which get way expensive past 16gb. I've noticed no lens creep, but even if I did, it has a lock feature so who cares. If you don't know what it is, ignore any negative comments on other reviews about lens creep.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera!

Pros: Great camera. Great lens. Takes amazing pictures. I would buy again.

Cons: Lens that comes with this kit is heavy and when extended a little, it will creep when pointed down. There is a lock switch to prevent creeping. It's not too bad and the lens takes amazing pictures.

Other Thoughts: This camera is priced very well among other Canon and Nikon cameras. You get what you pay for.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera

Pros: Sharp Photos when paired with High Quality Lens. Different raw sizes are great. I just use the mRAW which is at 10mp. Fast Focus even with the included kit lens.

The lock button in mode dial was at first annoying but I got use to it.

Cons: Inconsistent AWB and TTL with 430EXII. Sometimes the AWD is warmer, sometimes it's cold especially using the flash, it is very inconsistent. I have to switch the WB to flash mode to have the warmer tone all the time. The TTL also sometimes are too bright.

NO Dedicated Movie switch, and movie mode is all the way at the end of mode dial. Typically I shoot using Manual or in AV mode and I do take lots of Movie also of my kids. So switching between these modes, it's a pain in the. I feel like I switch back and forth too many times that the mode dial will start to wear out. I wish they kept the Micro Adj Focus. I have to send one of my lens for calibration because the feature was omitted.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera

Pros: Good value, great zoom range, huge upgrade from my old point and shoot. I have taken shots up to ISO 6400 that I can get to look pretty good shooting in RAW and editing in Lightroom.

Cons: Only thing I don't like is the mode dial button. That push lock button thing is just not necessary. The lens does zoom creep quite a bit but when I am walking around I just zoom out and switch on the zoom lock.

Other Thoughts: This is my first DSLR so I am quite impressed. Some people don't like the multi direction pad but I find it to work just fine. The lens doesn't seem to zoom much past 170mm but I have read it has to do with your focus settings. I don't yet have the knowledge to understand exactly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera!

Pros: Fast, feels great in the hand, and takes wonderful pictures.
You wont be disappointed with this camera.

Cons: None. Well maybe price is a touch high.

Other Thoughts: Don't let Ebogo's review deter you from this camera. He has lens creep. When pointing the camera down, gravity takes over and will pull the lens zoom out. If you hold the camera properly with your left hand supporting the lens that wont happen.

5 out of 5 eggsCanon Returned my Email - Great Camera!!

Pros: The Camera is Amazing. The Picture Quality is Sharp and Vivid. Canon Support Tops them all! I emailed them regarding the lens sliding out when taking a ground picture, they sent me a response within 6 hours with an explanation and how to fix the issue. Buy this Camera from Newegg, you will not be disappointed!! If you are taking very close-up pictures, you will need the Canon EF 100mm Macro. I also just purchased this from Newegg. The exact name is the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens. As for Customer Service at Newegg, The Newegg Customer Support Team will bend over backwards for you to fix any issues with an order! Thank you Newegg and Happy Holidays!!!

Cons: None...Buy from Newegg.

Other Thoughts: None...Buy from Newegg. You can shop all day long, at the end of the day, Your Decision to purchase from a retailer should be like this, Any retailer can have the lost price, any retailer can deliver, at the end of the day, YOU BUY FROM THE RETAILER THAT CAN SUPPORT YOUR PURCHASE!!

5 out of 5 eggsEBogo has zoom creep

Pros: ...

Cons: ...

Other Thoughts: EBogo, it doesn't sound like your lens is defective. It sounds like you are experiencing what's called zoom creep, or gravity zooming.

It's exactly what it sounds like - your lens extends when pointed down or retracts when pointed up thanks to gravity pulling on all of that glass. It is a known characteristic of the 18-200mm, and actually, almost all consumer superzooms (lenses that cover such a huge range in one lens) have zoom creep.

That is why Canon put a "zoom lock" switch on the bottom of the lens.

You can either use that, or get in the habit of holding your lens by the zoom ring.

You could also sell/trade your 18-200mm superzoom for separate walk-around and telephoto lenses.

1 out of 5 eggs200mm Lens is Defective

Pros: Beautiful and Sharp Pictures holding the camera straight.

Cons: If you turn the camera to the ground for a picture of a rock or shell on the beach, in manual zoom mode, the lens slides out by itself. There is no way to stop it. It fully extends itself, by itself. That is a no no when manufacturing cameras.

Other Thoughts: I emailed Canon. I told them they have a defective lens. I am waiting for a response. I may return the camera to

1 out of 5 eggsDefective 200mm Lens Big Problem!

Pros: Sharp and Beautiful pictures when the camera is straight.

Cons: If you turn the camera to Manual Zoom and then try to take a picture of the sand or a rock, the lens slides out by itself.

Other Thoughts: I emailed Canon Support. I am waiting for a response. I may return the Camera because it is defective.
