1 out of 5 eggsGreat until it hit salt water

Pros: Great price, good design and features. The camera had better zoom and functions than our old standard digital camera, so we were actually using it as our new regular use camera until...

Cons: This camera worked great underwater in testing, we tested it inside a pool before going on a cruise. However, the moment it touched salt water, the display died. It did not have a strong seal and we could see water seeping behind the LCD. The camera continued to take photos, but we could not zoom, change settings, or even see what we were snapping photos of. The compartment to conceal the usb connection is also very easy to unlatch and extremely difficult to get shut afterwards. Now the camera cannot even read when we connect it to a computer. I had to pull the SD card out and use my card reader to get the pictures off.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this was the worst camera purchase, and I do not believe buying this camera new would have been any better. Underwater cameras are a very dangerous purchase, you are probably better off using a disposable or 2 and sticking with a regular digital camera out of the water. I'm going to try to contact the manufacturer and get this piece of junk replaced and then never take it underwater again.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: Cheap
Like the HD video

Cons: NOT waterproof
Don't like the location of the lens. Finger pics anyone!! I guess you are suppose to use one hand but I like to use both of them to minimize camera shake.

Other Thoughts: Took the camera to the pool to test it, and guess what!!! water got inside the camera, ruined it in the process. I guess you get what you pay for. I will be returning the camera, ASAP!

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: I just love watertight cameras. I had a Canon 35mm, actually still do. Just doesn't get used. I recently lost a company camera in the dirt while it was raining. I picked it up and blew it off knowing full well it was soggy toast. The mechanical zoom didn't work. Dirt jammed it up good. I fooled with it for a couple of days. I did get the zoom to open but the AF wouldn't. I bought a used one to replace it with and a week later found this one on sale. What a gem. Granted the zoom is digital instead of optical but the quality of this one is over the top. Metal, not plastic housing. Rubberized where it needs to be and more settings than I am used to. Battery fits both ways so put it in where the inside contact doesn't. Took me a while to figure that one out. I normally don't write reviews but this one is worth the 89 dollar regular price though I got it one sale for 75. 14 megapixels and exponentially ergonomic.

Cons: None yet.
When/ if I find them I will update.

Other Thoughts: Good job Fuji!
