1 out of 5 eggsWashed out after a year

Pros: A very nice lens, abundant features, and nice battery life

Cons: After a year the pictures become heavily washed out if there is a hint of sunlight. No amount of playing with the settings will fix it. Still shoots great in dark scenarios but if you're outside might as well bring another camera.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Picture quality is superb. You see on a lot of the review sites really washed out photos and poor quality. That is not the case. Any camera you get you are going to work on pictures in photoshop or something else.

Some of the photos I've gotten out of this camera rival my friend's $1200 dollar camera because it's lighter and way easy to get the shot you want as quick as you need it. No fumbling around with bulky equipment.

I have gotten some really cool wildlife photos from this camera I just wish I had a way to post them on here.

Cons: Only a few things bug me and only do so a little bit but some people it seems to bug a lot. First it is a point and shoot! People seem to have too high of expectations for the video sound quality.

Is not great. Nothing having a dedicated sound recorder could not fix though because the video it's self is awesome.

My other issue is that is does compress all the photos and that the HX7v is comming out soon and offers 3D. It and the HX9V all the same HW for the most part.

All they would have to do is a Firmware update on this camera and it could easily do what the new cameras will. Especially if they made it take uncompressed photos. But this camera could do the 3D features, but Sony would rather make a lot more money.

Other Thoughts: This camera has so much equipment crammed in it they couldn't actually put in a internal charger, if they did they would have to get rid of something to make room or make the camera bigger, so that doesn't bug me at all.

The bad mics don't bother me that much because of the same reason, they have to make room somehow and this is a point and shoot camera not a camcorder! lol people seem to forget that.

If you want it to ignore that wind sound in the videos, cut little bits of something like egg crate foam and shove them in the mic ports, that really helped and as long as it is porous enough it wont muffle the sound.

Wish there was a way to close the lens when you don't need it, as it is, it's automatic so if you are looking at pictures for a minute or so it closes on it's own.

I don't know about most people but I would pay the extra $50 that the new cameras will cost, just to get the firmware to do 3D picutres

Anway, Great buy and worth every penny! Get the ADH warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsnice camera

Pros: loads of features and still a pocket camera
10x optical zoom!
easy to zoom with ring around shutter button
one-touch instant burst of 10 photos for action shots
dial for selecting camera modes - easy to switch modes
intelligent auto mode seems to work well
gps and compass in the camera for tagging vacation photos
good battery life

Cons: must remove battery to charge it
difficult to hold the left side of camera due to lens and flash placement
requires some reading and practice to learn all the features

Other Thoughts: After looking at the current Canon Powershot cameras, I'm happy I chose this one instead. The ring zoom and other one-touch features were a big plus for me. A lot of the features can be changed by pressing one button instead of using the on-screen menus. This gives me more time to capture good shots instead of fumbling with the camera settings. Very quick to power on and take the first shot. I got a 32 GB class 10 SDHC card and it's also very quick between shots.
