3 out of 5 eggsIt's Not a Tablet!

Pros: -Small size
-1920x1080p video recording
-Tessar Lens
-Smile detection for auto-shutter
-Auto Panorama mode
-Great and true color rendering
-Great accompanying software
-So far no sparkle effect in photos and film -like the TS2 Lumix

Cons: -Touchscreen control lags user command inputs!
-Unexpectedly jumps out of a menu option, back to main.
-Difficult to enter commands due to periodic but persistent lag in control taps.
-Unexpectedly STOPS while filming.
-Touchscreen covers almost the entire back of the camera ensuring accidental touchscreen entries while shooting, blowing the shot and/or filming.
-With such a large touchscreen where do you put your thumb to avoid entering commands?
-What will happen to the touchscreen underwater with water pressure?

Other Thoughts: It's a nice camera but Sony totally blew it forcing a touchpad control on this model. It's processor and systems are not up to handling nearly everything by touchpad! What's more it jumps back to the main menu quite often when entering commands.

It also has a periodic lag or freeze when navigating the touch menus making mode changes and picture review quite frustrating.

Best used for stills. Put it in auto shooting mode and take pictures until the menu resets or changes shooting mode.

This is the 2nd touchscreen camera I've had. It was a bad idea/execution in the first model and worse with this model. I also have an older Olympus Stylus without touchscreen and hey Sony, that is the WAY TO GO with the menus.

This is a high-activity camera. Obviously we use it during beaches, water parks, etc. and the touch screen is exactly the opposite of what we need in that situation.

We bought this for the 1920x1080p underwater filming. Shoulda gone with the Lumix.
