Wide angle is worth the extra $$$
- Pros: First wide angle and I can't believe I ever went without it. Beautiful LCD screen. Size for 10x zoom is good. Simple menus, enough buttons to avoid spending time scrolling thru menus. Looks like a $300 camera. Clear 'click' sound when taking a picture provides reassurance of the photo being taken. No more, "Did you take it yet?"
- Cons: I'll be lucky to not break this thing in a year. Mic placement not good for big hands. A left side rubber grip would or some finger molding would make the camera more comfortable to hold. Focus past 6x zoom needs adjustment, if I ever figure it out.
- Other Thoughts: Bought this for online auctioning and for baby pictures. The wide-angle is really worth it for detail and showing personality without spending a fortune on a DSLR with a macro lens. A previous reviewer said they would rather have a built in battery charger instead of taking it out to charge. Recharging a battery heats it up and a fault could cause the battery to leak or explode, destroying your camera. This is why most digital cameras have you take out the battery.
Fantastic Camera
- Pros: This is a fantastic camera that does everything well. It has plenty of scene modes to choose from if you need help or you can set it up depending on your knowledge of photography. The anti shake works very well and is extremely helpful when using the 10x zoom. I just went to the Police and Elvis Costello concert at the Comcast Center in MA (great show), and I was able to take incredible pictures with the zoom lens. The ability to shoot video in HD is spectacular and the videos I took of the concert looked great. My wife has the Canon sd870 and I thought that camera was great with a terrific 3" screen, but this camera's screen and it's 460,000 pixels blows the Canon away.
- Cons: Not quite as small as the sd870, but still easy to keep in your pocket. Also, put the wrist strap on it because it can be a little slippery to hold.

Panasonic TZ5 Digital Camera
- Pros: Lens is first rate, high resolution movies a great option, and zoom capacity provides optimal options for vacation and travel images
- Cons: focus of movie images in zoom mode is a distraction

Amazing Camera
- Pros: Loaded with features, Great color, high quality optics. good battery life, fast at everything. This camera continues to wow me.

Best point and shoot available at this time IMHO
- Pros: Intelligent ISO mode takes well balanced and good looking pictures quickly,
great exposure controls once you learn to play with it(you can take exposures anywhere from 1/2000 to 60 seconds long by playing with scene settings and other things)
720p video looks awesome for a point and shoot, make sure to update your firmware because it fixes the focus issues(it still refocuses sometimes but not as much, and you can turn off the focusing if you want)
widescreen pics are great...
I can still take HDR photos with it because of the exposure times.
10x zoom and super compact size, great menus and body, menus are very fast and responsive, quick menu is a good touch.
- Cons: No full manual controls.
Can control everything pretty well except aperture, can't seem to get great aperture settings, the best for depth of field was food mode I found, or telemacro setting.
- Other Thoughts: All in all I wouldnt buy anything else and for the money its the best camera available this year, the video was really surprisingly good allowing me to actually use it out for videos. I reccomend it(plus the black version looks sweet and the newegg 4gb bundle and case is perfect, didnt have to buy any accessories).
