2 out of 5 eggsbroken out of box

Pros: the quick release plate matches my pistol grip ball head on my other tripod

Cons: one of the leg locks was broken out of the box. not sure if this was someone else's return because the shipping box was undamaged

Other Thoughts: I read the reviews before I bought it, but return shipping would be as much as I paid for the tripod.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Seems strong enough for point and shoot, light weight camcorder, or SLR with small lense. Light to carry. folds fairly small. Has a hoom on teh bottom to hang a weight bag to stabilize it. I think if I actually used it, the whole tripod would colapse.

Cons: Bag it comes with is feces, but who uses the bag anyway. I put a sling on it from an old tripod. It does not go as high as a larger tripod, but ont he other hand does fold small.

Other Thoughts: Decent tripod. I had a Slik tripod for years. Plastic clamps eventually broke. This one is the same basic design, but the legs are a bit lighter weight.

2 out of 5 eggsLight and Cheap

Pros: Light and Cheap

Cons: Light and Cheap. This was an example of something I wish I saw in a brick and mortar store first. When I pulled this out of the package, I immediately knew I made a mistake. In a word, plastic. Everything feels flimsy. It has not broken yet, but I know if my 4 year old looks at it funny, something will go. Buy something else.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Price, sturdy, size, configurations.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I'm not a pro, but I do like to take quality pictures, this little tripod fulfill my needs. It is plastic and seems to be breakable but I take care when handling it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for your buck

Pros: -CHEAP!

-Quick Release mechanism. This was one of the main reasons I bought it; I was so tired of having to screw/mount my camera to the tripod every time. Now I just leave the quick release part on the camera and it just pops into the tripod in a snap.

-Multiple levels (the tools used to measure if something is 'level' or flat)

-Small foot print when 'broken down'

-Great customization in terms of settings: height, angle etc etc.

-Great for first time tri-pod, casual use or as a car/house tripod specifically designated to stay in that area.

Cons: -Everything is plastic.

-Not as durable as a heavy-duty metal tri-pod.

-Note, for the price these cons are not enough to make this a 4/5.

Other Thoughts: Many people are complaining about the plastic/cheapness factor of the tri-pod. I am by no means a professional photographer (I use a higher end point and shoot - Olympus) however as long as you take a minimal amount of care, this tripod should easily stand the test of time. I don't know how others do their shoots but it sounds like many are doing extreme sports or wake-boarding with their tripod or something. The thing is meant to be used gently & as a precision instrument whether it is made of metal or plastic. Basically, as long as you don't do any quick/hasty/careless adjustments or handling of the tripod, it shouldn't be a problem.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfectly OK for Light Duty

Pros: Quick setup, has a neat little leveling bubble. Taller than many. For light duty--preferably in the living room--it's a good tool.

Cons: none, all considered

Other Thoughts: Let's keep our wits about us. It's easy to spend $500 for a tripod, so for under 20 bucks we should expect...?

This is a perfectly good el cheepo tripod. In the house or around the yard it will do fine. Throw it into your backpack for a nature hike and I'm not so sure it will come out in one piece.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job.

Pros: it works well. light and inexpensive. like how the mounting clip snaps on and off easily.

Cons: the quality is cheap so you must be gentle with it.

Other Thoughts: satisfied customer.
