3 out of 5 eggsNot for indoors

Pros: - Great walkaround lens
- Compact for its range

Cons: - The aperture drops right away around 35mm making long range significantly slow
- Indoors shots will be 90% blurry

Other Thoughts: Stay away if you shoot a lot indoor shots. Get a 40-150mm or 70-300mm or (if you're rich) 50-200mm for that. Or better, get a 14-54 and use a telephoto converter.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Travel Lens

Pros: This lens make a great travel lens for those who don't wanna carry multiple lens on a trip. The zoom range is perfect for daily use.

AutoFocus is quick. Image quality is great.
I leave it on my camera at all times.

Cons: Low lighting conditions can sometimes cause autofocus issues.

Other Thoughts: The apature closes pretty fast once you start going above 30-40mm so you cross f4.0 pretty fast.

In low lighting conditions, try to get closer instead of zooming into the subject as this will give you a bigger apature.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've used this lens to take close up pictures of cars at car shows, but I've also used it to photograph the last eclipse. I really needed a tripod for that one though. I find the lens to be the primary lens that I use since it combines the properties of the two kit lenses that I originally received with the camera body.

Cons: The lens is somewhat heavy. It sometimes takes awhile for the camera to focus while using it. But the convenience negates the weight for me.

Other Thoughts: Its a good lens at a fair price.
