5 out of 5 eggsExcellent adapter

Pros: This is definitely the perfect adapter for those looking for:

1. Rock solid reliability
2. Advanced server features such as the ability to team
3. Low system resource use

I have this adapter installed into a small specific use server, that controls a Ubiquiti WiFi network and PoE camera system (the server is the Zone Controller and runs the AirOS software). The Intel adapter is capable of handling the incoming and outgoing traffic without skipping a beat and putting a minimal burden on the host CPU which was the idea.

Further pros:

1. Comes with full sized PCI and low height brackets and the brackets are perforated for ventilation
2. Works in any PCI-E slot size
3. Driver set is easy to use and configure--many detailed explanations of the settings are found inside the driver set itself as well as a full blown manual that may also be downloaded

Cons: Only one I can think of, and that is the price. However, that said, you do get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Using in a AMD Athlon 5350 Kabini APU / MSI AM1I mini-ITX motherboard small form factor server with Windows 8.1 64 bit.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks very well.

Pros: Works in any size PCI-Express slot despite its small size. Intel's PRO Set driver suite allows for detailed customization of features.

Cons: None (well maybe the price).

Other Thoughts: Intel's network interface cards have always been the gold standard and this card is no different. It's well-made, high performance NIC that gets the job done and the driver suite is second to none. Definitely recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than onboard NIC

Pros: -Great quality
-Small size (but powerful)
-Great drivers

Intel makes reliable hardware, CPU's, SSD's, NIC's, in the past even MP3 players!

There NIC's perform better than the Realtek onboard solution (I did benchmarks to confirm). The drivers provided are also better (they even give you a small explanation on what each option does). If 90% of your computer activity depends on your connection to the internet or network than everyone should consider upgrading their onboard NIC. I am using this on a desktop PC.

Cons: This NIC was intended for server application which means it has some features a desktop user probably won't use like boot ROM.

You can disable it and remove it's counter but it still add a fraction of a second to the PC"s boot time.

Other Thoughts: Anyone who does a majority of their PC activity using the internet or network should consider upgrading their NIC, even if it's just browsing of webpages.
