Take your home wireless network to a new level with the D-Link DIR-615. This draft 802.11n router is backward compatible with standard Wireless-G and –B equipments and it delivers faster speeds and farther range than a standard 802.11g router. The award winning QoS (Quality of Service) engine prioritizes traffic to maximize the quality of VOIP calls or online gaming.
Keeping your data secure is just as important to a great online experience as speed and range. That's why a full set of encryption options is available including WEP, WPA and WPA2. Firewall Protection is included for additional security.
Pros: DIR-615 C1 is entirely updated internals. It is an Atheros chipset router with the ar9102 radio chip. I have completely dissembled my router. It is identical to the Trendnet TEW-652BRP router in terms of firmware compatibility (the Trendnet GPL download even makes references to the DIR-615 C1). You can cross-flash the Trendnet firmware on this router, but most people agree the D-Link has more options and is better. The Atheros ar9102 chip is 2x2 MIMO they are cheap to produce. Both antennas are removable which is nice. This router is Linux based and OpenWRT now runs on this router! It has 32MB of RAM, 400Mhz CPU, 4MB of flash. This router is easy to open (4 screws on bottom, no snaps!) and you can easily solder in a rs232 serial port. A modern compact Linux OpenWRT router!
Cons: 2x2 MIMO isn't as good as the 3x3 MIMO routers out there, but they are more expensive. Short antennas compared to what I got with other atheros AP81 routers from TP-Link and Planex.

Good N Router

Pros: Replaced a D-Link DI-524 that I had "forever" that finally died (everything would reset every 20 seconds). This DIR-615 went in perfectly. Even had the same power supply. I even used the same router name it is was flawless and up in 2 minutes. Converted everything wireless to WPA2/PSK AES without any problems and have connected 2 Dell laptops, 1 Trendnet USB TEW-424UB b/g wireless connected to a desktop without any hitch! Have iMAC connected, too via a D-Link DSS-8+ switch and also a Brother HL-5250DN printer
For those that just want to connect up wired and wireless without any fancy options, it's pretty unbeatable.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: My model is a Rev. C1 with the latest F/W Ver.:3.01. Get it when on sale, as long as it's the latest Rev & F/W Ver. and it should work great!

Pros: Great router after you update the firmware. I have owned this router for over a year. When I first got it, I had a bit of a hard time staying online, I had to keep rebooting. But after a bit of searching I found out you had to update the firmware. Once that was done it worked perfectly.
Cons: None

Pros: I got it for free as a gift. It does connect to the internet. Easy to setup.
Cons: Constantly needs to be rebooted. Its not wireless all the time. I think its actually slowing my connection down.
Other Thoughts: After about a month of owning it, it started becoming erratic in its connectivity. Theres periods when I hafta reboot AT LEAST once a day for up to a week or more... Then it'll run fine for a few weeks and I'll totally forget its a piece of .... Then there are times when the wireless wont even work. Kinda defeats the "wireless" feature and I hafta hardwire in. The last few months have been decent. I've only had to reboot it approximately once or twice a month on average but now my internet seems slow. (This is on multiple computers in the house and that friends have brought over. "Whys your internet so slow?" they say.) However, my roommate has no complaints about connecting with his PS3 so far (my previous roommate had connection issues with lotsa lagging with his XBox360.) I've checked and its got all the latest updates for everything. Its the C1 version.
I hope this isnt par for DLink because I'm debating on trying another product of theirs.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Easily outperforms my old router. Connectivity is "Strong", Setup is "EasY" - I'm getting great response from my HTPC and Laptops, that I just wasnt with my other router-and they each have low quality wifi adapters..Maybe some of the bad reviews on here are just luck of the draw? Or maybe I just havn't owned it long enough. ON my HTPC, I'm using an extremely cheap-($12.99)-USB wifi adapter, that I before could never smoothly stream any sort of video-not even You TUbe. I thought I would try a new router first. Well luckily that was the case. My old router only connected at around 75% and sort of trickled bandwidth, where as the new Dlink is a wonderfully smooth/seemless view.--ANd with a very cheap Usb Adapter,,,Im impressed..!
Cons: I have only had this for a few ours though. After reading all the negative reviews, I began to second guess, and it did seem to hiccup on the connection at first - but not since.
Other Thoughts: Setup was easy. Software wizard made all nice and simple. Simply click and next-->click and next. My needs are simple for this router, all I really needed is to connect through Netflix and other similar sites--and it works beautifully for those! Fantastice range and connectivity!! SO FAR-I recommend it, just what I needed..!
