Its running one subnet off my ClearOS box for video streaming, 4 devices, all streaming either Netflix + Hulu Plus. No lag or hiccups. Cons: Is a little smaller than I thought makes mounting it a pain. Also the LED's are not that bright but I don't care. Recommended. Cons: Power block is small, but prongs run the block sideways across other surge protector outlets. This is more of an inconvenience than a con. Other Thoughts: Replaced an old 4 port hub with this, and my home network now flows very nicely! Have not utilized the jumbo frames so cannot comment on effectiveness. For the price I was expecting mediocre performance but I am pleasantly surprised. This switch is blending in perfectly with my media center. This device is solid and well put together. Feels like I paid 60 bucks for it. This thing is fast; between my openmediavault server and desktop I get really fast and reliable gigabit speed. Completely saturated the bandwidth while tranfering ISOs and my wife did not even notice while streaming an HD movie to my media center from the same server. This thing is fast. Also great for LAN backups. Cons: Rubber feet are a bit cheesy... Not a con tho. Other Thoughts: I would highly recomend this to anyone who is looking to expand or replace their hardware. This Rosewill switch works perfectly and does not even get warm to the touch, even under constant 'net activity. All connections are completely automatic. There is no need for addressing/masking or other port management to consider. It's plug 'n' play, right out of the box. This makes yet another Rosewill product for my systems that I am completely satified with. Cons: None. Other Thoughts: I selected this particular model because it was one of the few that is visually appealing from the front panel. The operating LEDs face the user, while all of the unsightly wiring (ethernet cables and power) connects to the back panel. Did you find this review helpful?
