1 out of 5 eggsCheap Junk

Pros: Didn't damage other components
generally reliable brand
was on sale at my local computer store, whose name I cannot say, but it starts with a micro and ends with center...-I now see why!

Cons: Lasted less than 3 hours
Antenna snapped off within hours of use
got horrible speeds even when it did work

Other Thoughts: If you need slow internet for the next 2 hours for $20, then this is the card for you!

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Didn't explode

Cons: DOA, never worked or lit up even after I had installed the drivers for it. Also, $10 to send it back? What a waste of my time and money

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't Work

Pros: None

Cons: Installed it in a ASUS H81I-PLUS motherboard and the board wouldn't boot. Its sad when ASUS's own part doesn't work with their board. I wasted my money on this one. I ended up using a TP-Link TL-WN881ND and it worked fine with the ASUS board.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Has lasted two years, and still going. This card will deliver great speeds however there have been a couple of hiccups here and there. It definitely creates a bottleneck vs using a wired connection but my connection is still at 75% of expected with wireless. No wires, slightly slower, still a great card.

Cons: Slow updates to drivers

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cards all around

Pros: I've bought two of these model cards. One from a local shop and one from new egg. Both cards have been great. These cards are extremely compatible they're not picky at all. (Just make sure not to loose the driver disk that comes with it) I've used these cards on Dell, HP, ECS, MSI, and Emachine motherboards with Windows 7 and Linux (Ubuntu based). I have tested how well they stand up to heat but putting my card smack dab next to my 6670 Radeon Graphics card and AMD Phenom X4 965. It's been there for over a year now with no problems. As far as distance goes these cards can have a 100% signal to a router 60 feet away with walls in between. Hands down an awesome card

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Comes with standard and slim tower mounts for perfect fit.

1 out of 5 eggswalk away

Pros: good name brand from a good retailer....that's about it

Cons: Installed fine on new PC build...Win 7 found it fine...installed drivers off CD/download and would never connect to wifi. Troubleshot with multiple wifi routers...locations, drivers from several Not recommended at this time.

Other Thoughts: Not worth it for the price to return to newegg...garage sale material.

1 out of 5 eggsPass on this card period

Pros: Absolutely nothing positive about this card

Cons: Slow N mode performance, lousy drivers (Microsoft default drivers work as good). Terrible range, zero support.

Other Thoughts: Hard to find a decent PCIe card for desktops anymore. Most of the big network companies don't make a card anymore. They only make USB dongles. This Asus card might be one of the worst internal cards I have ever used. Dismal performance on N mode, signal fluctuates even right next to router! Apparently Asus does not care as I have never seen a update for the driver. In all honesty you probably will never see anything close to the 150mbps rating. I am lucky to see a solid 54mbps right next to router.
Better to get a USB dongle from a reputable network maker.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: This product did not spontaneously combust.

Cons: Wireless N support is terrible in this adapter. I do not recommend buying this adapter if you expect to reliably connect to N networks and get N speed. B/G wireless spec is very 'mature' at this point, so it probably works fine for those, but I didn't test.

Before the "experts" weigh in, I'm a 15-year IT professional and I've dealt with hundreds of cards. I know all the usual stuff. No, there is no newer driver. No, there is no firmware update. Yes, I've played with all the connection settings. Yes, I've tried it with and without the included junk-ware. etc. etc.

The adapter reports 4 bars and occasionally 5, yet takes 20-30 seconds to connect to the AP, and fails to negotiate a connection around 50% of the time. I have another USB N adapter I used in troubleshooting that is connecting to the same AP and does so within a second at 3 bars.

Pinging the wireless gateway, the replies are all over the place: some as low as 50ms and then randomly a reply at 900 - 1500ms. The USB N, by comparison, is consistently below 10ms. Pinging your own gateway on a wired card should be sub-5ms and on wireless below 10ms. The 50ms I'm getting from this doo doo Asus card is totally unacceptable.

Google "PCE-N10 slow" and you'll see my experience is not uncommon.

Conclusion: You've been warned.
