2 out of 5 eggsRemember that rebate?

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: It still works.

Cons: None so far, other than the rebate fiasco, see "other thoughts" for more.

Other Thoughts: The truth is, I picked this up because of the rebate. The company that processes these rebates seems to "lose" all paper work you send in. So far they've only received 2 in 11 of the rebate documents I've sent.

I've let it go in the past, this time I'm reporting them to the FTC, BBB and any other authority I can dig up.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: cheap and reliable

Cons: -

Other Thoughts: Does not always download at 150mbs because of the interference of your walls, by the time the signal gets from your modem to the adapter it only downloads around 32mbs (for me). Great product, would recommend getting the300mbs one

1 out of 5 eggsterrible speeds until it dies. just stay away.

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: It fits in my computer.

Cons: Worked for a little bit, giving me low but okay speeds. I put up with it because I was lazy. Fast forward 1month, with usage time way under 1month. Keeps dropping my signal, and gives unbearably low speeds. Paying for 50Mb/s at the modem, getting 1.2Mb/s through this adapter. Thought it was the router, until I tried my old Buffalo USB adapter which spat out a 22Mb/s. I keep trying, but it's not giving me anything above 4Mb/s now, when it even works. I give up; this junk is going in the garbage.

Other Thoughts: I sent in my rebate at 30days. I hope they give me my money back because this is probably the worst decision I've made on Newegg.
I should have listened to the other bad reviews (but hey, it was on sale).

1 out of 5 eggsPoor connectivity

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: The card is definitely small and easy to install. I had no issues getting it up and running. It seems to be a pretty solid build and I'm glad it has an antenna on it since that opens an avenue to installing a custom antenna or extend the antenna out for boost the gain.

It works well for movie streaming, downloading stuff, and casually browsing the internet.

The card does seem to occasionally drop out which is annoying.

Cons: The connection is poor. So, it doesn't drop out BUT, it has an insane lag. Or doesn't connect well to my router. In fact, I tested it against my $200 chromebook which seems to have a wonderful ping even when it's further away from the router, shielded by several walls while this card gets a terrible ping.

In fact, you can't GAME with this card. Let me repeat: YOU CANNOT GAME WITH THIS CARD.

I tried to play CS:GO, constantly lags. I get shot and I'm already several seconds into a respawn. Tried League of Legends, 300ms+ ping time, so the game is unplayable. Ever tried ulting with a lag? You miss 90% of the time. Don't play as Ashe.

SWTOR same deal, but less noticeable since I didn't do PVP. And every other online game I've played is exactly the same.

Though, if you're streaming/downloading a movie, you won't see a difference,

I tested it against a couple of my laptops, I've never had such a bad performance with any of them. My Macbook used to get 30ms ping time. My 4 year old $400 (at the time of buying) PC laptop used to get a 50ms ping time.

I had to switch to hard-wired connection and can't use it at all anymore.

1 out of 5 eggsBad card

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Connects to routers and hotspots.

Cons: Connectivity goes in and out, and is almost entirely OUT. I'm using a Broadcom wireless G laptop card from 2008 right now to connect to the same router from the same distance, and I have full connectivity. This card is garbage. Do not buy it.

Other Thoughts: The mail in rebate that was available on black friday is no longer available, so I got beat for $10 also.

5 out of 5 eggsJust Works

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Plugged in and works. Windows automatically installed driver without needing to do anything!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had bad luck with internal Wifi cards in the past, but when i saw the deal + rebate on this one I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did!

2 out of 5 eggsNot a good product from Asus

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: I have a motherboard, router from Asus in my self-built computer. I have never had any problems with Asus, but this is the one. I got it in the mail two days ago. Tested it and installed it well. It worked for 7/10 points for me. It wont go up to my maximum internet speed which my wifi extender worked for me. You it is a wifi adapter and all it has to do is be able to connect to the internet and max your speed. Thats why I only gave it 7 out of 10 points because nobody wants to use a wifi adapter that lower their speed, dont you? However, I am ok with it for a day. Since the real problem has begun. On second day, it would not connect to the internet. Always said the connection is limited. I tried to fix it by unplugging it and install it back. Well it stayed the same. What? No way! I tried to go to their website and install the utility which they also provided in the driver CD. It would not work either. It only install the driver but not the utility. Therefore, i figured this is a sign to return this product. I can bear with a small trouble but not this kind of series problems. I still have hope for Asus because they are my favorite tech brand company. You know sometimes you make a mistake, but do not buy this or you will be dissatisfied and return it later like me. Luckily, i have shop runner so no return shipping. Hope you all have a great day!

Cons: Good old fashion looking.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 2mins!

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Fit my slot...

Cons: Every time I tried to install the drivers from the disk provided, my pc froze. Even with windows updated. Did some research and found out that you need to use the Realtek drivers since it's a Realtek chip set with an Asus brand, but even those drivers didn't work (at least my pc didn't freeze when installing them though). After 4 hrs of reinstalling drivers and tweaking to get it to work right I decided to give up and return it... after breaking my keyboard!

Other Thoughts: It is a pain to get it to work right, and when it does it drops the signal regularly. Do not buy unless you are a masochist!!

1 out of 5 eggsReally Lousy Reception, Constant Dropped Connections

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Very few. Installs easy enough. Out of the box support in Ubuntu 14.04 . Also works with Windows 7 when it's working at all.

Cons: Really poor reception and speed. Possibly defective, I doubt they could all be this bad but I don't have enough information to be sure.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this wireless card based on my experience.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent if you're close to the router.

This review is from: ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Setup was pretty easy. Just install board and load disc. works pretty good in the living room.

Cons: If you're more than 20 feet from the router, the speed drops dramatically. Also the software is very bad, forcing you to manually connect every time the computer is booted. I just uninstalled everything and loaded only the drivers. Let windows control the adaptor and not the ASUS software.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this for someone else with a newegg giftcard, so I can't complain about the $23. But if I was buying for myself and planned on using it for anything other than basic internet, I would definitely steer away.
