2 out of 5 eggsNot good. Not good at all.

Pros: could be good for a low range wireless setup
easy to install

Cons: For the price, the performance is terrible. i have tried adapters half the price as this one and they perform way better. the speeds constantly fluctuated making internet unusable.

Other Thoughts: i bought this for a client who had a dell inspiron desktop but the built in wifi adapter wasnt cutting it. this doesnt perform better than what came in the dell. you would think that with 3 antennas, the range might be even a little better than a card lacking antennas.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

We appreciate your review.

We are sorry to see that you are not getting the performance that you need out of this device.

If you haven't done so already then we would suggest that you upgrade the Driver from our website at: http://tplink.com/en/download/TL-WDN4800_V1.html#Driver

It is hard to determine why you are having some issues with this device, but some reasons that I've seen are due to the Desktop being too close to the wall and obstructing the signal.

This may happen when the Adapter is plugged between the Desktop and the wall and is getting a poor signal.

You may also want to try another PCI slot if you haven't done that either.

If there is any other Wireless configuration software running, then I would suggest removing it and only use the Windows wireless configuration.

If you find that this device has some issues then you may always contact our 24 hour technical support team for assistance.

We do have a 2 year manufacture RMA policy to replace the device if it may be defective.

Best Regards!

2 out of 5 eggsdid the job, not my first choice for pc gaming

Pros: it connected to wifi and found all my neighbor's wifi with eaz

Cons: Since I use my pc for games I care deeply for my ping and well,
It just sometimes decide to skyrocket form 50 ping to 600 whenever it feels like it

Also, After having it about 6 months, it became inoperable and I had to buy a new one.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to review our Adapter.

We are sorry to see that this device stopped working for you.

There are several things that we can try to trouble-shoot to get the optimal speed for your gaming.

If you are having any more issues and still use the WDN4800 then please feel free to contact our Technical support, we can help resolve any issues that you may be experiencing.

Best Regards!

2 out of 5 eggsWorks while it works

Pros: Does what it says. It has the upload and Download speeds it says it does, but only for a while.

Cons: My item only lasted me a few months before dropping signal randomly. I do mostly video streaming with the occasional game (Hearthstone), every 30 min to an hour It drops signal, and i have to manually reset the card. very annoying.

5 out of 5 eggsGood speed and price.

Pros: After installing there was an immediate change in speed on the internet and downloading. I haven't gotten a faster speed with any other device in the house. I haven't had any issues with the disconnection.

Cons: It's an internal card so you'll be taking up space in your desktop. Depending on the location of your PCI Express slot and the type of video card you have you could potentially have installation issues. I have a PCI-E that's out of the way of my cards so this isn't an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: - Easy Install
- Win 8.1 Compatible
- Excellent Range (Router 1st Floor, PC 3rd Floor)
- Great Software to Help Connect to Internet
- Fast Shipping

Cons: - PC didn't Recognize Adapter First Time.
I had an issue where my PC wasn't picking up the newly installed adapter so the driver disc wouldn't install anything. After a few restarts and unplugging the adapter, it started recognizing it.

Other Thoughts: As you see there are more pros than cons, but then again I have only had this for a short time but what I can say is this thing is great! I got it to replace a USB wireless adapter that would say it kept disconnecting on Win 8.1 but after this adapter, I have had no issues like that what so ever. Other than my old adapter, I am now able to use the 5GHz band of my router and it is so much faster now. The connection can be a bit less than that of the 2.4GHz but not too bad. As said in the pros, the range is great. My PC is on the 3rd floor and my router is on the first floor with no interruptions. I highly suggest this to anyone for it is a great adapter and does the job well.

1 out of 5 eggsTERRIBLE Support

Pros: The ones that work are great, but read the title and beware.

Cons: Ever since I got this thing, it has given me nothing but trouble. It never holds a stable connection and I had to borrow a USB wifi adapter from a friend just so a could write this review. I have two different computers with the same card and they work fine. I have troubleshooted everything. I have run it at 5Ghz, 2.4Ghz and even changed the channel that my router broadcasts on. I have contacted TP Link's support through email, talking on the phone and then on email, but I'll talk on the phone to someone just so they tell me to email someone who replies asking if I have tried using it in different computers and if I have any viruses that might be tampering with it, and then I reply to every question in the email and I never get a response. It has been MONTHS of me trying to get this thing replaced. I NEED to talk to someone higher up. I don't think I will ever buy or trust anything from this company ever again of this doesn't get fixed.

Other Thoughts: My mind is blown that I can't even get anywhere with this. If any of you buy this product and it is DOA or breaks, good luck getting a replacement. (You might have to just buy a new one)

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Works well, I typically use a wired connection for best results when I'm online/gaming but when/if I take my computer elsewhere it does the job nicely.

Cons: I bought one around a year ago, and after 7-8 months it died on me without warning. While it worked it did it's job though, I just wish it didn't break when I was in a location I couldn't connect to an ethernet cable, haha. I've since gotten a new one and it works well.

Other Thoughts: None

1 out of 5 eggsNot working at all

Pros: None right now it doesn't work

Cons: This product did not work at all. I tried it in multiple pci-e slots and it never would come online. I am currently waiting to hear back from the company about this and will change my rating if there is a fix or if I receive a working device.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Was a snap to install the card, plenty of room in my case. Installed the software/driver and worked as advertised.

After install was done, I went on-line and did a speed test. This card is installed in a computer about 40 feet away from router and has to go through 1 wall. Note: I made sure not to push the computer up against the wall, I have about 6" of space from antenna and wall. I have fios 50Mbps down 50Mbps up, my test results were 52Mbps down and a little over 60Mbps upload speed. Very happy. (:-)

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsWorst buy

Pros: It connects sometimes

Cons: It disconnects from my router all the time. Has trouble keeping good connection. Drops many packets. Slow. Compared to a USB adapter the USB adapter for half the price blows it out of the water. I've updated drivers, took any interference into account and yet nothing helps this card. I'm really upset that I bought this. I've worked with it for a year and its so bad. I hope TP-link takes this product off or lowers the price to around 15 dollars. This card should be used at a last resort if you cannot buy anything else.
