5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Im the envy of the Platoon with this computer. It does everything I need for the Army and more! Taking it to deployment with me. Has a Smart Card reader so I can Access all my Army Knowledge Online stuff. Windows 7 runs really well on it.

Cons: Video reports a 3 on the windows performance scale but really don't see it performing that well. Powerpoint gets slow and choppy when adding any animation to it. Havent tested out the hdmi output yet.

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of Money

Pros: None

Cons: Buyer beware. This atom processor tablet is not responsive even to finger touch and swipe functions let alone to run a flash application on a web browser. Also this item is non refundable per egg heads fine print return policy. So if you buy this item like i did with the hopes of running it for business and find it is not suitable for you. Guess what? You are stuck with a 800 dollar paperweight. Not only new egg refuses to refund the money saying that item is non refundable..(for whatever reason that is...i have not seen such a return policy in my life in any electronics vendor) and will not move a finger. So the product gets a zero out of five on usability (don't even bother to improve system performance by modifying windows themes and page file and all that poppycock it does not work...)
Also i would like to give egg head a minus five on a scale from one to ten for customer service. Kudos for screwing one of your loyal customers royally..My transaction history with you is official o

Other Thoughts: Don't buy it, if you absolutely must do not buy it from new egg. It is not long and round and it hurts if you re stuck with it.

5 out of 5 eggsGood portable 2nd computer

Pros: Battery life is good 4-6 hours depending on wi-fi use. I rarely take a power supply with me during the day.
Quick response when returning from sleep and hibernate modes
Durable, professional quality

Cons: No storage slot for stylus (really annoying)
Nubs on power switch wore off within 6 months, making it difficult to turn on
Portfolio is incompatable with docking station (both sold separately)
Wi-Fi radio is weak

Other Thoughts: portfolio is incompatable with docking station.
It has a slow processor, so don't try to do too much at once, but still seems to perform well nevertheless.
Stylus requires AAAA battery (My HP and DELL tablets that use the same N-Trig digitizer do not)
Suggest getting screen protector sheets.

3 out of 5 eggsI was hopeful

Pros: Windows 7Pro, USB input and the ability to use programs rather than just apps like some of the other slates coming out. Stylus and finger input is good with the handwritting recognition being excellant. Swappable battery is great and the battery life is good.

Cons: The processor just doesn't seem to be able to handle what it was made for. Freezes often. Needs to be connected to a mouse as it often will not recognize the stylus or finger input. Weak antenna for wifi reception. Sitting next to another slate, this one will rx significantly lower signal than the other.

Other Thoughts: We were very hopeful to move from our current Motion Computing C5 Slates to this but alas, after testing it in action it will soon be sold.

3 out of 5 eggsIts A Windows Tablet

Pros: Light weight, very portable. Touch Screen based w/ pen option. Great for note taking. Runs Pretty Windows 7 fairly quick. Browsing experience is pretty decent, does handle hand gestures like iPad.

Cons: Is not an iPad. If you looking for something similar to experience of an iPad look elsewhere. Screen has a film grain over it and isn't as transparent as one would hope. Included is a pen for tablet writing yet no place to store it after your done writing.

Other Thoughts: Ideal for students who use one note and need a portable pc.

5 out of 5 eggsYou must optimize Win7 and SSD

Pros: Windows in a slate, full USB, HDMI, IPS display, fanless, replaceable battery ... see the comparison tables.
Still the best Windows slate, probably until the MSI Winpad 120W ships.

Cons: "Pro" reviewers have observed that a Z670 is slower than a Core i5, so their gaming is hampered. However, if you need a slate to do actual work....

Other Thoughts: The "pro" reviews of the Q550 generally give it 2 out of 5 stars/muffins/chili peppers. Those reviewers complain about the 2.1 WEI score and how slow the Z670 is vs. a Core i5 (brilliant), but the reviewers did not know enough (surprised?) to "optimize Win 7 with an SSD" (google that phrase). If you do, and set the minimum CPU usage to 80% or higher, the Q550 is acceptably fast, fanless ... and does Windows apps.

Get a glowing, roll-up USB keyboard ... works great in darkened airline cabins.

5 out of 5 eggsQuite Happy with Purchase!

Pros: The Q550 is light, has long battery life, crystal-clear picture on the 10.1" screen, it is also fast online and in opening and closing programs there is little lag, even though it has an Intel Atom processor (Z-series). It also includes many safety features, like finger print reader and TRIM. The 62GB SSD is fast and provides enough space for operational needs after loading all my programs (still 34GB remaining free). It runs Windows 7 Pro 32-bit very well, and is fully compatible with all of my software on the job. I also just ordered directly from Fujitsu a VESA mounting plate that fits on the back of the Q550. This is one of the most versatile, all-around mutli-tasking tablets to yet hit the market.

Cons: There is no place supplied on the tablet itself for the input pen; it simply dangles on the supplied cord, unless you hold it directly. Videos will occasionally sputter on this tablet, though for me this is not a real "con" since I was not in the market for a media tablet, as much as a tablet for getting work done.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am very pleased with the purchase of the Q550. It is evident that Fujitsu had a lot of experience with tablet technology in engineering this tablet since it has many features designed into an otherwise light, thin tablet with long battery life (and an exchangeable battery to boot).
