5 out of 5 eggsAwesome product

Pros: -7" screen
-Battery lasts for days to weeks on standby
-Long battery life (see other thoughts)
-Supports a 64GB memory card, even though it says it only supports a 32GB(see other thoughts)

Cons: -Isn't compatible with some apps (you will get this with any tablet though)
-Calls internal memory "SD Card." (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: -The battery will last a very long time if you turn off wifi when you are not using it, and close down all apps once you leave them. I have had my battery last over a week and a half on standby with wifi off, and no apps on in the background.

-The internal memory being called "SD Card" is misleading and a nuisance. It makes it confusing to figure out what is actually on the internal memory, and what is on the physical external SD card you put in. I had to download "link2sd" to link my apps to my physical SD card. This saves a lot of internal memory, since there is little to start with (about 5GB after the OS takes what it needs)

-The tablet will actually support a 64GB memory card, even though it only says it supports a 32GB. I have a 64GB in mine formatted into 2 different 32GB partitions.Partition 1 is for the app "link2sd,"for linking my apps. The other is useful for movies, music, ect.

5 out of 5 eggsdon't let the bad review fool you

Pros: for the price there is no other tablet like the tab 2, and now that it is upgraded to android 4.2.2 your getting a even better deal. with standard use you get about 8hrs and with heavy use about 5-6. If your into gaming and love emulators this tablet will perform very well with all of them. so far Fpsx, drastic, myboy, dosbox, superGNES, superN64, GENPLUSDroid are just some emulators i've had no problems running.

Cons: none, i know what i i got unlike most of the low rating people on here.

Other Thoughts: you can move apps to sd once updated to 4.2.2, smart stay is a fun little addon. oh and BTW it has an IR blaster so you can use this tablet as a remote for your TV and anything else pluged into your tV (cable box, surround sound and so on)

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: This tablet can do almost anything. It works great for playing movies and music, though the default player leaves something to be desired. There's not much bloatware that I've seen, but none of it seems to be running either. All games and applications work great. For the price it's fast enough. Now, for some of the cons people post. One is that there's no a micro-USB charger. If that's so much of a concern, buy an additional cable so you never run out. There are usually Walmarts and Best Buys in most major towns. Another con people post is that there's no USB ports. Well buy a USB device adapter for $4 and that problem is solved. As I said, this thing can do everything.

Cons: The default music application, as well as Google Play, skip during playback. No problem though, just go download a better one. For cons, the only one I can think of is that it doesn't come with an unlocked bootloader and/or it isn't rooted, but that's probably not something I'm going to be able to expect at this price. So really, there are no cons.

Other Thoughts: Please, people, when you post a review, think and try to research a solution to a problem before you disrespect a product and/or company due to something that is your fault and not theirs.

5 out of 5 eggsA very good tablet...

Pros: Easy to use. Comfortable to hold. Solid build. Expandable memory for media. Music and video file compadibility is amazing. Easy to navigate and customize main screen. Great 'app' store through Googleplay. So far I've been pleaantly surprised by this tablets performance. But then again, I'm not using this for work, it's strictly for entertainment on the road. There's a lot you could do on this bad boy. The more I play with it, the broader my grin is. It's like having a PC with the open endedness in your pocket.

Cons: The amount of bloatware (that you cant uninstall) is rather annoying. But reading the reviews I already knew that coming in. Technically you start off with a 4 gig tab, which would be bad, but at it's current price (for me, $169.00, and with the expandible memory (I put in a 32 gig card) it's def not a deal breaker. It's still a cheaper and more capable of a tablet than the Ipad Mini.

Other Thoughts: For me, I'm treating this like a pocket PC. Out the gate I went on GOOGLEPLAY and installed ESET (first months free.) I cleaned up the unwated apps from the main page, downloaded an ereader, uploaded videos and ebooks and so far so good. I am very pleased with my purchase. The Samsung Tab 2, at this price is a steal. :-)

4 out of 5 eggssweet deal for the price!

Pros: the tablet looks and feels great. fits perfectly in my hard. with the dual core processor, I'm able to listen to Pandora and browse the internet with ease. the resolution is awesome and game of thrones looks amazing on it.

Cons: like others have mentions, the charger isn't a micro USB which sucks. but I'm sure Samsung has their reasons.

Other Thoughts: this is my first tablet and it was a great choice. perfect for traveling.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Tablet. Period.

Pros: Responsive.

Inexpensive.

Great quality.

This is probably one of the best tablets in this price range in my humble opinion. I picked one up on base while visiting my son for a week when he graduated Air Force BMT in San Antonio Texas back in February. So sadly, not from Newegg.

In the months since I have come to regard the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 to be one of the best Android tablets I have used. I rarely leave home without it.

It can play most any of the games out there for Android with ease. It's great for music, movies, news, weather, and so much more. It's fast, I have never once had it lock up, or fail to do what I have asked of it.

Drop a 32GB SD card in there, install the Android SDK kit to it, and you can easily set it up to install even the largest apps to the SD card, no rooting required, at all.

I even use software to extend my PC desktop to it and display extra data when gaming, and it works flawlessly.

The screen seems quite strong, not a single scratch or ding with very heavy use. It's also quite easy to see in sunlight. Just cranks the brightness up accordingly.

The speakers on it are also pretty good. You don't get distortion unless you hit high volume spikes and have it maxed out. This is to be expected. For general movies, music, and gaming, it sounds just fine. I was actually shocked they sounded as good as they did, and not "tinny" as I was expecting.

The overall build quality is also very good. It's a solid dependable tablet. It does not feel like it's going to snap in your hands like some tablets do.

It works quite well with just about any Bluetooth keyboard. I have tried it with 4 different ones, and I use a Logitech board when I don't want to deal with the on-screen.

The on-screen keyboard is just fine. Easy to use, and in portrait mode it can take up most of the screen, but I got used to it. You are on a 7 inch screen after all.

It has good battery life. I use it as my MP3 player in the car, or to watch movies, and after about 6 hours of constant music, it used about half of it's battery life from a full charge. Movies in about 4.5 hours, same battery life. Give or take. You can extend this by disabling Wi-Fi when you're not using it, enabling power saving mode, and adjusting the brightness down to what you need for that specific situation.

Cons: It's not HD, but that is not a con. Videos and games still look crystal clear, bright, and vibrant.

I really can't find any real cons with this tablet after months of heavy use.

Other Thoughts: I really can go on and on about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. It's just a great all around tablet. For the price you are paying, you really can't get much better than this.

Games, it can play them, easy.

Firefox, runs it fine. Quick page loading.

Wi-Fi networking, simple as can be. Worried about security? Drop Hot Spot Shield on there and you're set. There are even firewalls available.

Skype, Facebook, all those apps you like to use to keep in touch, all run great.

Basically, if it's on the Google Play store, it will run it. With very few exceptions, mainly apps that are designed for phones only, and those are quite rare.

If you're in the market for an inexpensive tablet, this is probably the one you're going to want to look into. Or it's next gen Tab 3 version.

5 out of 5 eggsclick the buy button

Pros: its light weight, boot up time is fairly short. I have had no problem running anything on this including playstation 1 emulators.

Cons: not 1080p video quality, battery sometimes drains suddenly but rarely.

Other Thoughts: i love this, i even got a blue tooth controller to use to play stuff on it. It runs quick, smooth and hasnt froze up on me yet no matter what im doing!

5 out of 5 eggsGalaxy Tab 2

Pros: Price. Excellent hardware. Microsd card slot expandable up to 64GB

Cons: Wifi only, 8GB internal

Other Thoughts: I rooted and flashed this with custom ROM within an hour after buying it. I'm now running Android 4.2.2. This tablet will do everything the custom ROM is set up for. With tweaks, I can get the battery life extended to about 14 hours with heavy use. Processor keeps up with multi-tasking no problem. New, imported keyboard is much of an improvement over stock. Custom ROM lets me shrink keyboard so its not full-screen. Would recommend this item.

4 out of 5 eggsgood not great tab

Pros: cheap, sd card slot, light, compact. good picture quality. Samsung offers several add ons for usb devices, full size sd cards and a dock.

Cons: proprietary connector means not just any micro usb will do, android updates take awhile when a new version comes out, Samsung apps don't really add anything to the user experience

Other Thoughts: I got this before the nexus 7 came out and destroyed the value argument for this tablet (I have the nexus 7 as well). however on a device without built in data service, having an sd card slot is valuable in itself.

1 out of 5 eggsBreaks easily

Pros: no pros outweigh the fact that it broke for no reason

Cons: it broke for no reason. I hadnt used it for awhile, since its not great anyway, and when I tried to turn it on or charge it, nothing happened.
