3 out of 5 eggsUnderwhelmed

Pros: It's light weight, thin, and sports a nice bright LCD.

Cons: Sluggish, Samsung bloatware, marginal improvement over Tab 2.

Other Thoughts: Having used an iPad for several weeks and being an early Android-adopter flying the Droid banner proud and strong, I can now see some pros and cons.
Maybe this will help you pick one if you ever face the choice:
-Apple's OS runs faster and more stable thanks to the much reviled "Walled Garden" that is Apple's source code.
Custimization and built-in adaptations make Android run on so many different devices causes drag.
I've been a huge proponent of custimization, but I've come to be very annoyed by the trade-off in speed.
-Android devices are bogged down by the manufacturers' own bloatware, especially Samsung is guilty here.
-Android apps need updating ALL THE TIME. Every time you switch it on, they need to update 3-6 apps.
(if you leave it off for a few days, it practically needs 15 min to update everything)
-Apple has facetime and ITunes, but can also run competing services (Skype, Rhapsody, etc). You can't have it all on Android.
-A pro for Android is that it's OS allows for multiple user profiles if it's a shared device.
-Many of Android's apps are free, Apple has more fee-based apps.
-Android tablets are a lot lighter as they're made of plastic vs the iPad's glass and metal (but you may prefer the look and feel)
-Apple charges a premium for it's brandname. Thank their marketing department for this one. Still, getting a refurb might save you 40% here.
The glass & aluminum body may appear more expensive, that doesn't mean it's more expensive to manufacture.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat tablet

Pros: This tablet is fast. The wifi is quick and stable. I installed a 32G micro card and it picks up easily. The battery life is extremely good. I ran Pandora from 8am to 5pm 2 days in a row, and included other tasks like internet browsing, and the battery didn't even go halfway down. Wish my android Moto phone worked so well. I got this on a New Egg special.

Cons: No cons noted at this time.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried the camera yet, but I am sure I will get around to using it eventually. Also, can use my cell phone as a hotspot.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat buy

Pros: refurbished looked new, not a scratch.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I was a little hesitant in buying refurbished product, but took a chance as the price was right. I'm glad I did, can't tell a different from new one. I did have a little trouble insert the micro SD card, you really have to jam it in there for it to stay!. I recommend this highly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat tablet @ an amazing price!

Pros: Synced easily with the cell phone for contacts & apps, great video quality & beautiful, vivid color. Email & surfing is a breeze. I snatched this up for $149, what a great deal! There is absolutely no indication that this was a refurb, no problems cosmetically or otherwise.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGood Investment

Pros: This is my first tablet, bought for business purposes. Yet, I find myself using it off-line for games that my tower unit doesn't have. It connects quickly to my hotspot. I note that it is a little slow on the download, but it surfs well and I can access whatever I want. I was able to set it up fast for SQUARE and I am able to edit accounts easily, so it is doing exactly what I needed it to do.

Cons: While others state the wi-fi is exceptional and all they did was turn it on and they were on-line, in my area I had to purchase a hotspot in order to actually get on-line. Which is fine, I guess, since I bought it for the road. However, it is an expense I didn't expect to have to incur.

Other Thoughts: I am not happy with having to buy two data packages, one for home and one for the road, but, I guess that is life. But as far as the product itself, I totally recommend this device for price and performance.

5 out of 5 eggsGalaxy Tab 3 8.0"

Pros: I love the 8 inch screen. It's the perfect size and that extra inch of screen real estate over the 7 inch really makes a difference.

The screen is bright and clear, despite not having the very highest level of resolution by today's standards.

The touchscreen is very responsive and the keyboard (onscreen) is big enough that you don't have trouble hitting the correct key every time.

I like the fact that you can add up to 64 MB of additional storage via a micro SDXC card.

The WiFi seems to work very well. It's fast and the range seems to be exceptional. I took the tab clear to the back of my lot and never lost my WiFi connection.

The GPS works great. This is a high priority for me.

I was surprised how fast this tablet took a charge, compared to several of my other Android devices.

My refurbished unit is like new. I wouldn't know it wasn't new but for the non-retail packaging.

Cons: Can't stream videos from Am***n Prime.

I had to change the setting where the tablet automatically verifies that you're looking at the screen or it turns the screen off. It just didn't seem to work right. Maybe it's because of my glasses.

Other Thoughts: I have several other Android devices, including an Am***n Fire HD, and this Galaxy Tab 3 is my favorite (by far).

I am super impressed with this tablet, and I'm not impressed easily. The size, weight, thin bezel, and pure usability are great!

From what I've read, the new Galaxy Tab 4 really isn't much of an improvement over this tablet. Save some money and get the Galaxy Tab 3, and save some more money by buying the refurbished model.

Pros: Have several droid tablets of much lesser quality, this reacts closer to my iPad than anything I've used.

Cons: None
