5 out of 5 eggsDoes Everything

Pros: I currently own a desktop I built myself that can do everything. My prior laptop however was lacking and made it very difficult to take work on the go as it was quite the opposite. Decided it was time for an upgrade, especially since my job was expanding, as well as I had planned on going to school for digital arts, media and designs in the near future.

That was 3 months ago, and since then, its helped tremendously accelerate my life though school, work and play. It's out performed every expectation I had from a laptop, it even rates 0.1 point higher then my desktop. It will run just about everything I've used it for, has great space, speed and expandability for a price far worth it. Even Lenovo Support was good to me.

Cons: The first few nights using it for high profile rendering, I had found the power-pack would get uncomfortably hot as well as it would not keep up with the power consumption and charge. I called Lenovo told them about it, they stated it was a known issue and they would send a new one for no cost except I would have to loan them $40 until my old one got back to them, This understandable. The new power-pack is smaller without defects or problems since.

Other Thoughts: With a dedicated video card and plenty of space, I'd recommend this to any gamer or designer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop for the price

Pros: Great specs.
Gives great performance for 550 bucks. Runs all my programs that i need no problem.

Can run BFBC2 on med to low settings. Runs Counter Strike CS easily.

Can also play Civ 5 on medium to high settings with ok frame rates.

Really bright screen with hi adjustablility.

Long battery life when not gaming. 2-3 hour. Small compact power supply is a plus.

Webcam works nicely.

Cons: Built in microphone really sucks. Gives a lot of noise and is really quiet. Haven't found a solution to fix it yet other than crouching over and talking into the mic...

It's also placed on the keyboard so if you type or click on the touch pad while talking, it's really loud on the mic.

Keyboard is kind of loud when typing.

Speakers are not very loud, but headphones fix that when gaming.

Other Thoughts: Haven't had any trouble with the power supply not charging the battery.

Reading the other reviews I think I know what the issue is.

There is a setting for the power that goes for long battery life which only charges the battery up to 80%. I set it to this since I'm running plugged in most of the time anyway. I can set it to long running time which charges it to 100% with no issues.

I'll post again if there is any change in the Power supply.

Not too much bloat ware, took about 10 minutes to get rid of it all, which is expected. McAfee was loaded on it, that took the most time...

The screen goes black for a split second every time windows 7 does the security prompt or alt+ctrl+del kind of stuff. Sort of annoying but not a big deal at all

5 out of 5 eggsVery good laptop

Pros: Very good laptop. Price is reasonable. Dedicated graphics card with 1GB memory. Great for school or office or even game. Average battery life is 3 hours. Don't have any problem with the battery adapter or charger so far.

Cons: although it supports 8GB memory, but it comes with 2*2GB memory. there is no space for additional memory to be added.

Other Thoughts: hard to buy a keyboard protecter. Need to order it from HongKong.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Very good laptop. Needed a new laptop for engineering classes. Better by far than the HP laptop that I am now waiting for a settlement due to the NVIDA GPU lawsuit. HP treated me badly. I will not by another HP computer.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: There have been no problems the charger.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Laptop for Engineering Student

Pros: Not much experience with lap tops but needed one for school. So far it works well. After 3-4 power drains on the battery there have been no problems with charger as mentioned in previous posts. Very good value.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop, Great Price!

Pros: This is a great machine! Keyboard is perfect w number pad, dedicated graphics card, Hard Drive and Memory are a generous size, Proprietary software is pretty cool too, even has facial recognition! Webcam, HDMI output, 3 usb ports & SATA. Super quiet and doesn't get nearly as hot as my last laptop which was an HP.

Cons: The speaker sound quality could be better. Not very loud either playing videos.

Other Thoughts: Not having any issues with the battery or the adapter as I've seen other people had...works perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop, hands down.

Pros: I am a big gamer and i own a gaming desktop that i built myself, but i am also a college student and i needed a good laptop for college that can handle anything i throw at it but not too expensive..This one caught my eye due to the amazing specs for the price that you get it at.

I fired up steam and threw Dirt 2, Assassins Creed 2, Borderlands, GRiD, Call Of Duty World at War at it (so far thats all ive done) and this babe played it at it's native resolution, settings mostly maxed out and 2xaa.

Battery life is around 4 hours depending on what you do, and if you game on it it will be cut down to probably 2 hours..just so you know that.

Havent had any of the battery problems with it; maybe Lenovo fixed it already?

Seems to be nicely built..very sturdy and the brushed aluminum and textured touchpad is a nice touch. Keyboard is also extremely nice to type on.

see other thoughts for benchmark results

Cons: no cons at all this is really nice.

Other Thoughts: Intel Burn Test- 15.6Gflops. this is actually faster than a core i3 340m- but the i3 does have hyperthreading, but it shows the P540 is a good CPU..it is the Phenom II dual core's laptop variant.

I tried to run 3dmark vantage but the minimum resolution is 1280x1024 and the screen is not wide enough for that.

All in all this is a good laptop for the price and anybody thinking about getting this should just hit the "add to cart" button and get it shipped to them.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product BAD AC Adapter

Pros: Great over all machine, quick processor, good memory, deticated graphics is great if you play games such as WoW. The Keyboard is awesome and smooth to use. It has a nice bright display!

Cons: AC Adapter is junk, this is a known problem ( it is NOT the battery ) i have seen reviews on here that say the battery is the problem it is not. I used my toshiba AC adapter and it worked perfectly, so i bought a generic after market one for this and have had no problems.

Other Thoughts: Replace the AC adapter and you have a awesome machine for the money!
