5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tablet

Pros: The Toshiba Thrive is a great tablet, it has a full USB port, full HDMI and a mini USB, charges fast compared to other tablet, just over 3 hours 100%. Can change the battery.

Cons: Support from Toshiba, camera (so so quality). It took a while to get ICS in the toshiba while pretty much all the other competitors already had them, and no one was even sure it was going to be issued....
the screen quality is not very good, specially if you compare it with the Samsung couterpart.

Other Thoughts: Nice tablet. If you want a tablet and don't want to carry more than the necessary adapters, or if you use a lot USB flash drives, this is great. From time to time I fix computers and if I don't have my laptop when I need to download something I download it in the tablet, then put it on a USB. It supports Flash, (if you have patience, don't think that Flash is going to behave as it does on a computer)

5 out of 5 eggsThrive

Pros: Lots of connectivity - SD Card slot, HDMI and USB! Awesome~! I love this tablet!

Cons: A little heavy, but for the trade-off I get a SD-slot, USB connector, HDMI connector.

Other Thoughts: None

4 out of 5 eggsNice to have

Pros: Great Graphics. Sound is so so.
Speed is not bad.
WiFi perfect at home or work.
Bluetooth works great so far.
USB seems to be up to speed.

Cons: Lack of OS access, locked down very tight.
Makes backup a real pain. "Access Denied"
Doesn't seem to play well with Win7 64 via usb. Files go missing?

Other Thoughts: Nice Toshiba product and read up on updates before you install!!

4 out of 5 eggsA little different from the rest

Pros: User replaceable battery. This is a huge plus for anyone planning to keep this thing around for a while.

While it is thicker than other tablets, it is easier to hold and has a rubberized back for added comfort and grip.

The file manager is like what you would expect to find in a PC OS.

Standard size USB port. Good picture quality. Great battery life. Great for reading.

Cons: Indicator lights: The order of the indicator light are, from top to bottom: power, charging, connection activity (amber). The charge light never goes off until unplugged, even if the battery is at 100%. Also, this light sits where the top of the power button is, it would work out much better if the position of the charge light and power light were reversed. I still miss the power button when I turn it off at night.

Insufficient exposure setting for included camera software.

Other Thoughts: This is a pretty good tablet. The interior hardware is pretty much the same for all Tegra 2 tablets so it ends up being the little things that differentiate different offerings.

The picture quality is good under the right conditions, but could be better for others (LED flash would be nice). It is a bit heavier than some of the other options, but it is not heavy by any measure. If those few ounces really bother you that much, you either have a musculoskeletal disorder, or are just plain lazy.

The most annoying thing about this table is the location of the power button. This seems like a simple oversight, but is noticeable when used in a dark setting.

I would definitely recommend it

P.S.: Android 3.x does not support ad-hoc networks. In my opinion, this was a bad decision. I'm not sure why it was made, but this is sad considering it is basically a specialized branch of Linux

5 out of 5 eggsLove it.

Pros: It works great. Does everything it said it would. The SD card slot, replaceable battery, full size HDMI port, USB port make it very usable and flexible.

Cons: I don't like the position of the power on/off button. A little heavy, but it's so cool

Other Thoughts: I liked it so much I gave one to my daughter for Christmas. Watching TV and surfing with a Thrive is pretty cool.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor service

Pros: It got here, finally.

Cons: Haven't opened the package

Other Thoughts: Bought this as a Christmas present for my wife. She won't take it now to make sure it works, and I have reason to believe that it might be damaged.

I have not opened the shipping container, because I suspect that there is no padding inside the container which means who knows how badly the tablet has been beaten up. Planning on video-ing the unpacking to prove just how poorly the item was packed for shipping.

I have been assured by customer service that they will replace the product if defective/damaged due to shipping, at no cost to me but who knows if they will.

2 out of 5 eggsNot in my hands yet.

Pros: Better specs/lower price than "equivalent" ipad2

Cons: Processing/shipping has been really slow. Might be due to the time of year.

Account was charged two days before I was notified, and it still hasn't been packed/tagged or shipped.

I do not like the fact that NE has had my money for five days (three being business) and my order has not be tagged or shipped.

The package should arrive on Friday 12/9/2011 if NE adheres to the 3-day shipping they "guarantee."

If package arrives later or with any damage to the outside shipping container, I will refuse delivery and with report a fraudulent charge to my account.

Other Thoughts: My experience in the tech field has shown me that when Apple first releases a product, it's usually great with some exceptions i.e. 1st gen ibook; however, they get surpassed by competitors quickly, especially in the price vs performance category.

Yes, surfing is faster with an ipad2, until you disable flash on any flash enabled tablet.

2 out of 5 eggsbuyer beware

Pros: tablet is great!!!

Cons: AC power cord is defective-the pin that plugs into tablet is cheap quality and broke off--called toshiba- was told to go to website- which states damage to cord is not covered under warranty!! will never buy toshiba again- other people are having same problem.

5 out of 5 eggsAffordable and good quality.

Pros: SD slot, full-size HDMI and USB, Tegra 2, Honeycomb. This tablet literally comes with the best features and hardware available for Android tablets. Compare it side-by-side to another tablet and you will see that buying this low-priced machine is a no-brainer. The Toshiba software is pretty good and NO BLOATWARE, which is awesome. You get regular updates from Toshiba's market. To sum it up, this tablet is dope.

Cons: No flash for camera

Other Thoughts: No flash for the camera is a little lame, though. But I don't see myself using this tablet as a camera, that's what my phone is for.
