3 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

Pros: This tablet is really fast, looks and feels very solid, has great audio and the display is AMAZING! I've taken some time getting used to using it. I'm a photographer, so I mostly used it to store galleries on to show potential clients. Being a Mac / iPhone user it has taken me a while to get used to the different OS, but have recently started using it quite a bit more.

Cons: When I finally started really using my tablet I started having some wifi problems. I assumed that my home router was going out since my A700 had been working so well in the house. I love to use it to watch movies on at night, but soon every time I started any streaming service it would start buffering every couple of minutes where it had NEVER done it before. I tried everything I could and even did a factory reset to see if that would help, but no go. My wife's tablet works perfectly still, but she never uses it... so it doesn't get much wear.

I've had this less than a year and I'm really disappointed that I'm having problems already considering that I really don't use it all that much.

Other Thoughts: All in all I LOVED this tablet until my wifi started to go on the fritz. It looks every bit as good as an iPad and I was able to buy 2 for the price of one decent iPad.

5 out of 5 eggsAcer A700

Pros: Once it updates,it's pure beauty!
Sturdy build.
Has a microSD slot.
Google certified (trust me that makes a BIG difference!) Most non-Google certified tablets can't access Google's app store and have problems with YouTube.

Cons: Acer customer service...yuck!

Other Thoughts: Since I bought this thing in December 2012,I haven't had any problems. It runs Android OS not Apple OS,so Itunes and Siri are MIA (But Google search is on Siri's backside and Google's Android Store n/k/a Google play is on point). It's 10 inch 1920*1200 pixel screen makes Netflix and Google Earth look really good. Please don't get me wrong, the iPad is great, but if you want a stellar Android (non Apple iOS) based tablet for a decent price, this is it.With 32gb and a microSD slot, you won't have to worry about "cloud" fees.

5 out of 5 eggsMost satisfactory.

Pros: Updates to Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1
Smooth and perky operation.
Large, sharp screen.
Bootloader can be unlocked.
Big battery gives fair use time, recharges reasonably fast.

Cons: Gets a touch warm on the back. However, it is not as bad as it was under ICS.

Other Thoughts: For my purposes (web, email, video watching, game playing) this tablet is about perfect.

The lack of flash support is *not* a con. Flash is dying, making way for HTML5. Adobe themselves are the reason ICS and JB don't have Flash, as they are turning their attention to developing for HTML5.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent

Pros: full HD (1920 x 1200) resolution, great screen/colors, quad core tegra 3, Android Jelly Bean 4.1, quality build and feel, big price advantage over competition

Cons: somewhat slower 3D graphics performance compared to low resolution competitors

Other Thoughts: I'm very happy with the Iconia A700, and I own a Nexus 7 for comparison. The negative reviews seem to be a result of the tablet shipping with ICS and some bugs. But mine offered an update to JB immediately after I powered it up. After the update, I have found no screen touch issues, no heat problems, and very stable operations. I ran Nenamark 2 to test 3D responsiveness, stability and heat compared to my Nexus 7. The A700's score was about 60% of that of the Nexus 7, which makes sense in that both have the Tegra 3, and the A700 is pushing more than twice as many pixels. The Nexus 7's max temp after 10 minutes was 45C, and the A700 reached 49C.

4 out of 5 eggsa700 touchscreen after jb

Pros: Runs smooth after jb update

Cons: Touch screen sensitivity has improved over ice but it still has issues. May have to hit key twice to register. Frustrating. Have tried other brand tablets and don't have this issue I.e. note 2

Other Thoughts: Was worth the $350 I paid

3 out of 5 eggsI love it, except for no flash

Pros: -Large screen
-High definition
-easy to use
-Very fast processor
-long battery life

Cons: -No flash support
-can't be charged with a regular USB cable

Other Thoughts: I bought this tablet to use in my college classes, and it really is great for that. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until after I had owned it for a week or two that Adobe discontinued support of Flash Player on Android 4.0 and after. I was really upset because Flash support is the main reason I even bought a tablet that ran Android.

Also, be aware that the charger cable for this is NOT a standard USB cable, it's a modified USB cable that's able to put out more power. I left my charger somewhere during the week and it ended up getting thrown out by accident, and now I have to buy a $40 replacement charger.

Overall, I do love this tablet. it's easy to use, it take great pictures, it's really fast, the screen is super response, and the battery lasts for a while (especially considering how big the screen is). It's the perfect intermediate between a smart phone and a full blown laptop, I just wish I had known there was no Flash support.

5 out of 5 eggsJelly Bean update makes this 5 stars

Pros: Screen resolution. 32gb. Dolby sound. Great battery life. Solid build quality. Great value for $350.

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: It took 1 week after i got this before the updates to Jelly Bean 4.1.1. arrived. But that took the A700 from 2-3 stars to 5 stars. Everything is quicker smoother and more stable. I have owned an ipad and asus prime and this is just as good and then some. I am happy i bought this.

4 out of 5 eggsBest 10" hi-res tab for the price

Pros: Definitely a far better deal @ 350 than other high resolution tabs. Jelly Bean just came to the U.S. this week and definitely improves the lag time switching between home and apps. 1920x1200 resolution is far better for reading, though a few apps won't work.

Cons: Sluggish w/ stock ICS, no LED on camera, glass fit to frame is a bit flimsy, proprietary battery charger, JB not currently rootable

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Tablet

Pros: The Acer A700 just feels nice in hand. It is well built and durable. And I love the display. Looks the same as the Ipad 3rd gen. The 4.1 Jelly Bean increases performance greatly. I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 and it cant keep up with the A700 switching throuhg menus. Alot of bug fixes are included as well.

Cons: It is a little on the heavy side. The back does get warm. Before Jelly Bean update, it is very buggy and unstable.

5 out of 5 eggsA Cool Tablet

Pros: Pros:
High Def Screen
Crisp Text
Stunning video
Great Sound
Long battery life
USB Port

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is my third tablet. I began with a Viewsonic G-Tab, then went with an Acer 500. My only experience with Acer tech support was very positive.

I love the A700. I have bought a second one for my wife. She currently has an Ipad through her job, but wants an A700.
I primarily use it for reading ebooks, web surfing, watching Netflixs, and checking email. I also read and annotate a lot of PDF documents using ezPDF, and ebooks using Mantano ereader (the best for high lighting and note taking). Another favorite app is Evernote. I send notes and quotes from PDFs and ebooks to Evernote to use in writing projects.

The clarity of the print on ebooks is amazing. Watching a Netflix video is stunning. Almost as good as watching my HD TV. Sometimes the Netflix video takes a few seconds to become crisp. But sometimes that also happens on my HD TV.

The heat problem others complain about is not an issue. When I first got the A700, there was definitely a warmth on the right back side of the Tablet. My wife held the A700 while watching a 40 minute Netflix video and did not mention the warmth.

Because of the proprietary power connector, there are no car adapters or third party power adapters on the market yet. Because the connecter fits flat and tight, it is not a nuisance like the A500 adapter.

While I have not received the Jelly Bean upgrade (Android 4.1), initial reports from others on various acer forums suggest dramatic improvements in performance and a decrease in the warmth on the back of the tablet.

Yes the Asus tf700 has a more powerful processor, and is thinner and slightly lighter. But the price difference, currently about $150, and absence of the USB port (unless you buy the additional keyboard dock), , tipped me toward the A700. For example, I still use my wired usb trackball for some actions. Also, last week I had to connect the Acer to my computer via USB to transfer a file that was too big for dropbox.

The Asus may beat the A700 on specs, but it looses on price. For me the A700 is more than adequate. The performance is very good. And depending on where you shop, it is as much as $150 less than the Asus Tf700.
