1 out of 5 eggsTypical Asus

Pros: Lightweight, very portable and easy to use.

Cons: Slow, very very slow. Even web browsing makes this thing grind to a halt. A real pain to install any software you might have on CD/DVD.

Piece of garbage died just a month and a half out of warranty. SSD failed and ASUS wants an unbelievable amount of money to replace it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I love this little computer. Its light. Touch screen works well and is responsive. It does not heat up so it is easy to carry around while using. This is the perfect little computer for any kind of minor computing or for travel. The touch screen is great , the USB ports and online storage help with the issue of limited storage. The battery has lasted for at least 4 hours.

Cons: It is a bit slow but... hey its a netbook ... so its to be expected.

Other Thoughts: I am a science teacher and need a small computer to use as an electronic grade book. This little netbook is simply amazing. I can carry it around my classroom and enter grades, take attendance ect. I use no other gradebook. This little gem does it all. At least three people in my department plan on purchasing one.

5 out of 5 eggsNifty for use in automobile

Pros: Solid state disk (fast and not shock sensitive), touch screen (allows easy operation in car), memory expanson options (have 2000 music videos could have 6 ripped DVD movies), no fan (to fail or make noise) 12volts baby! (makes car installation a snap). ASUS quality, full Windows 7 O/S (i can write programs for it). Can playback at least two videos (with VLC) simultaneously. Sound connected using hardwire-FM-antennae hookup to my Benz-Bose is great AND volumn can be controlled from steering wheel. AND super quick hibernate/restore activated with on/off slider, picks up right where we left off.

Cons: Serious touch typing session requires external keyboard - but hey, I have other computers for that...

Other Thoughts: Discovered (to my delight) that VLC media player supports gestures on this tablet. Simple finger-swipe moves to next video... a real plus at 100mph. Unexpected benefit... using it to test ethernet connections when wiring up security cameras in ceiling. Small size makes it a very handy tool.

3 out of 5 eggsWent with a T101MT

Pros: Light weight, amazing battery life for a 2 cell, only 8.9 inch netbook/tablet combo I know of.

Cons: Windows 7 is horrid with 1gig of RAM. If you plan to use this as your primary operating system spend the extra 20~$ and upgrade the memory.

GMA500 is a nightmare under Linux (although it can be done). Runs Ubuntu 9.10/10.04 well once you get the graphics driver sorted (google around, lots of good guides out there)

Other Thoughts: I ended up selling this one to a friend and getting the T101MT. It is obvious that the T101MT was the model after the T91MT because it has a far better design (the T101MT). Unless you REALLY want an 8.9inch tablet I'd recommend looking at the T101MT instead.

Prior to this I had an EEE with a 1.6ghz atom in it and there is a noticeable speed decrease going to a 1.33ghz

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job well

Pros: Small and lite. tablet netbook need I say more.

Cons: Its a bit slow battery life could stand to be a bit more. N wireless connection is very slow in comparison to my laptop with a g card in it, or even my phone on the same network.

Other Thoughts: This thing works great for my intentions. It's a netbook not a machine built for data processing or power users it was made for ultra portability and it does that well. I use the tablet as an ereader and also to change router settings at home and work.

4 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

Pros: For the price, you can't go wrong. Good buy.

Cons: So slow it hurts to use, even after upgrading to 2GB. Stylus input frequently swipes down and to the left, but that's a quick undo.

When you hear SSD, don't assume it will be fast. This drive is slower than my internet connection. That's just sad.

Other Thoughts: For $400, well worth the price. Just make sure to pick up ONE SINGLE 2GB SODIMM.

4 out of 5 eggsTweaking Makes it Better

Pros: Eee Pc Tablet PC!
Small form factor
Easy to transport
Inexpensive Tablet (same size Fujitsu costs up to $2000)
Twin SD slots
Most EEE PCs are made to be modified and this model is no exception

Cons: Shiny black fingerprint magnet - wish I could've purchased the white model instead
Black keys hard to see in low light
Build quality
Slow processor and graphics
Spongy keyboard - probably could be firmed up with a few layers of aluminum foil placed under the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I have owned my t91mt for about 6 weeks. My first one had to be sent back because the screen was not properly aligned to the keyboard. The replacement is much better, although still not perfect.

I decided to test Ubuntu on the unit - and there are still a few bugs to work out to make it my main OS. Rather than keeping Ubuntu on the SSD, I now have it installed onto an SD card.

When I reinstalled Windows 7, much to my surprise most of the bloatware was gone! (need an external DVD drive for that). I also deleted as much stuff as possible, trial software, etc. I also removed Touchgate and replaced it with Blue Dolphin. To overcome the missing palm rejection I downloaded ASUS PenWrite from T101MT's Touch Series Application package. Download "Touch Series Application" from the ASUS T101mt's downloads page, unzip and install PenWrite. Works great.

I also have upgraded the RAM to 2G and put a skin from Decal Girl on the lid. The skin is completely removable and keeps it fingerprint f

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to my previous post

Pros: -Stylus snaps into place nicely magnetically
-Works great for word processing
-Only used 30% battery over 3 hours when I was only half-way using it, let it turn off display and sleep after 5 minutes.
-The included driver disk has a recovery image
-Comes with microsoft office 2007
-Weighs 2 pounds
-Nice brushed aluminum touchpad, you'll only be using touchpad when you need more precision, such as adjusting a window's size.
-The youcam software is pretty cool, you can take photos
-AC adapter is very small

Cons: -The screen is a little flimsy while closed
-Button to rotate display is anoying, I just use ctrl+alt+arrowkey
-Not very good for most flash games
-Keyboard flexes when types on
-Sound is very flat, but thats understandable
-Made of plastic, but that makes it all the more lightweight.
-Rotates one direction only, careful not to bend it the wrong way.
-The plastic surface scratches easily, but I can only see the scratches in certain lighting.
-The screen glares pretty bad even on 100% brightness, but finding just the right angle to adjust/hold it makes up for that.
-webcam gives poor quality photos/video

Other Thoughts: BIOS doesn't recognize SD so don't try putting windows on an SD like I suggested, stupid me. System won't boot from windows off a USB drive. If you want a clean install, you will need to burn a windows disk and buy a external USB DVD drive for about 40$. Sorry for my mistake everybody! I still recommend spending money on a dvd drive to clean reinstall.

5 out of 5 eggsReally Cool! Very Happy!

Pros: -Only 400$!!!
-Stylish
-Everything is sturdy
-Keyboard feels good to type on if you use it
-Comes with drivers disk
-32gb internal ssd, 2 sd slots
-4-5+ hour battery depending on use
-Very lightweight
-Bluetooth
-Good responsive touchscreen
-Plays flash games, youtube, etc
-100% silent, no fans or HDD
-Comes with a good quality sleeve, fits nicely snug
-Text is actually very easy to read
-Surfs the web as fast as a desktop
-Handwriting recognition is actually good after calibrating. Its fairly accurate and fast. For people who may think it lags, you can adjust how long the computer waits before it turns your handwriting into text, and when you have it set right, its a nice experience
-Very easy to install ram, only unscrew 2 screws
-Don't let the specs and reviews give you doubts. This netbook is actually quite speedy and I feel little to no lag at all from the touchscreen.

This machine is great, I definitely recommend it if you need a keyboard with your tablet!!!

Cons: -LED indicators are kind of bright while using in dark room
-Screen is a bit grainy but not horrible
-Fingerprint magnet
-Chokes on flash games with medium to high graphics
-1gb memory, but can be upgraded to 2gb
-Bloatware

Other Thoughts: I recommend a clean install of windows. If you don't want to spend money buying a new OS disk, you can download windows via google and use the windows key that's on the bottom of the netbook. When you have the windows files (2.32gb space needed) you can either put them on a dvd and get a external dvd player, put them on an SD, or create a partition and boot to whatever has the installation files on them. I did this using a partition. You may want a external drive for your driver disk or move the files to an SD.
They keyboard keys are the width of my finger and height of my fingernail. Its not too difficult to type on if you use it.
If you upgrade the ram, make sure its compatible, and get a single 2gb stick, not an additional 1gb stick, as there is only 1 slot for memory. The ram I used is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148233 and it does work.

Wish I had more room to write!

4 out of 5 eggsPortable & inexpensive

Pros: This little machine is UBER-portable. It easily fits in my travel hip-pouch and in my work lunchbag. The screen is quite readable on default setting. The brightness is good for indoor use, alright in daylight. The CPU is fast enough for web use, office work and light graphical use. On full power mode it handles my movie files fine, even when playing off a SD card.. The hinge is EXTREMELY strong and very well built. The touchpad works as expected. The controls and function shortcuts are easy to learn. Even on full power mode this unit doesn't get too hot either.

Cons: The CPU slows down a bit when in tablet mode and it gets choppy during some youtube viewing however it still handles my movies well. The battery really does last 5 hrs, but only if you tell it to go to power-saving mode. Super fast mode gets only about 3 hrs... which still isn't bad. Not really a con, but you should know in advance. The one drawback for me comes with the territory, that is, the small keyboard. I'm writing this review on the 91MT right now. It isn't too bad but as a 6'0" tall husky guy the keys are easily mispunched at times. Not terrible, but definitely smaller than my desktop keyboard. Also, the HD could be bigger.

Other Thoughts: You're buying this for its' fantastic portability. I've carried it in my lunchbag, my car's glovebox, the leg pocket in my REI cargo pants and INSIDE my clipboard's compartment. This thing fits and travels where others can't. My favorite feature? Watching the iPhad junkies jaws drop when I turn my tablet into a *real* computer in a blink of an eye. Also, Windows 7 is a very easy jump from Windows XP so I found it very intuitive. Another plus, you can rotate the screen but leave it angled up (not in tablet mode) and it fits in even the crappiest economy seat tray table! Yup, I love this little machine. It does what I ask. I didn't expect some kind of ultragaming machine, just something I can carry around the house or travel with without breaking the bank or my pocket (did I mention how ridiculously light it is?) The only improvements would be a slightly better HD, denser screen, more RAM and a longer battery... otherwise this little guy rocks!
