2 out of 5 eggsHave the Same issue

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: Fast. Can play almost all of the apps.

Cons: Screen cracked on its own.

Other Thoughts: I just want to echo other reviewer about the screen being crack on its own.

I own the tablet for less than 2 months. Left it in the car for few hours. The touch screen worked a little weird when tried to use it. I saw a hairline crack when I tried to pop the cover out from the tablet. After a day now, the tablet won't let me unlock the screen.

Contacted ASUS, they told me they didn't cover cracked screen under their warranty, but will file a case for me. Asked me to call again later for RMA as their system is currently down. Let's see.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

It's good to know that you are satisfied with the performance of the tablet. I do apologize if you were dissatisfied with the tablet. I certainly understand your concern regarding the screen being damaged accidentally. Any tablet screen, regardless of the brand name, is breakable if the unit was dropped unintentionally or not handled with care. Should you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# 3630920 on the subject line.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Regards,

Rodel

1 out of 5 eggsstay away

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: worked well while it lasted, no complaints.

Cons: screen cracked on its own
incompotent technicians
had the tablet for 6 months

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't recommend this product, i would recommend this brand. This is the third time ASUS products has failed me but this one was the worse as the screen cracked on its own. First time i've since such a thing. Repair was going to cost 275 bucks, same as the brand new tablet price.

Technician concluded accidentally damage when product was clearly defected. Best part, they sent me photos of new damages that I didn't have before sending to technician. I'm not sure if the technician accidentally damaged it themselves and didn't want to own up to the damage. Lesson learnt, take photos before you send to warranty, don't be optimistic like me, thinking "big" brand is better.

They offered me 10% off for repairs which didn't make sense to me, for a defective product, maybe repairs of $20-40 we might be able to talk but $275 with no guarantees that the screen would not automatically crack on its own again is a bit far-fetched.

Anyways, maybe i've just been unlucky with ASUS products and keep getting the bad or defected products. Purchase at your own risk, i'm only sharing my experience with ASUS products. 3 is the charm for me to write a review about their product quality.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for the positive review you have provided. I apologize if the screen was damaged. ASUS doesn't warranty cracked screen. If you think this is a factory defect, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# 3561370 on the subject line. I would be more than glad to assist you.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

5 out of 5 eggs302 blue

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: Blazing fast
Great graphics/Resolution
Lightweight
Sturdy
Great camera
Great dual speaker sound quality
Frequently updated firmware

Cons: Volume isn't that great
Battery life mediocre

Other Thoughts: It literally does everything i need it to, and i bring it everywhere. I'd recommend getting the folio keyboard with it (i bought the same one used for the 302 lite, works great).

Besides the volume not being loud enough for me sometimes, and the battery life draining pretty quickly(I find 5-6 hours it goes from 100-20% with fair usage) it's flawless.

Highly recommended for anyone thinking about buying a tablet.

4 out of 5 eggsGood budget tablet

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: - Cheap price
- Beautiful HD screen
- Fast Intel Processor
- 2GB memory
- Cameras and speakers are good

Cons: - Android 4.3 kinda slow on Intel
- 16GB storage for US version
- Some android apps don't work with Intel x86 (like adobe air)
- Some apps work but are slow (like windows RDP)
- No full usb port (need seperate adapter)

Other Thoughts: This tablet compares with the $500 dell venue 11 pro except it doesn't have windows 8. As for the tablet, i love it. The software is kinda a big drag on this device though. For casual users they won't notice the software bugs. Don't expect this to replace a laptop or netbook even though it almost could considering the hardware.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive tablet

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: I'd have to say I'm pretty impressed so far. It seems like a lot of pro reviews about the FHD 10 are lukewarm and compare it to the Nexus 10 which from what I've seen cost $100 + (33%) more street price than the memo pad but the users reviews I've seen talk pretty favorably about this tablet so I decided to roll the dice. I also own a 2012 Nexus 7 so I have something to compare it to.

Back story: 2 weeks before Christmas I went to Staples and bought a ME102 on sale for $229 and I used it for about a week and it wasn't bad but then I saw the FHD 10 on sale at Newegg for $249 only $20 more than the ME102 so I ordered it and returned the ME102 and I'm glad I did because the FHD smokes it in every way.

I'm pretty technical so I did my homework on what was out there in this price range and what attracted me was the screen resolution, 2 gb of ram, the microSD slot, and the HDMI output. I was a little concerned about the processor causing app compatibility problems after reading some of the reviews but so far I haven't run across one app that doesn't install and work. I don't play games on this so I can't really comment on extreme gaming performance but I use this tablet pretty heavy for day to day tasks and for what I do it's very responsive and so far much better than my 2012 Nexus 7 which cost me more than the FHD,

Some people complained about the build quality seeming flimsy and while the shell doesn't feel as industrial as my Nexus 7 time will tell. Do yourself a favor and buy a nice fitting case for it, they're not easy to find for this specific tablet but they're available online.

Sound is very good for small speakers

Installed a 32 gb micro sd card no problem

Hooked up the hdmi to a tv and it worked great. I don`t normally plug a tablet into my tv but I could see this being handy if the need arises.

The graphics are very very nice, crisp and clear. The bigger pictures in the Facebook app take a couple of seconds to appear but my Nexus 7 takes longer.

As far as performance its peppy and responsive, quicker than my Nexus and the ME102.

As far as apps it has a nice assortment of basic Android apps but I wish I could uninstall what I don't want but Asus has them locked in.

Cons: Can't uninstall Asus software, camera seems mediocre but I prefer my digital camera over a phone or tablet for important pictures anyway.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a 10" tablet for less than $300 (if you look around you can buy it on sale for around $240) this tablet offers a great value without compromise.

5 out of 5 eggsLike it so far

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: I love the large screen with its great resolution. The deal was great as well. It is lighter the the kindle fire 7 inch screen. The battery life is really good as well, been playing with it for 5 hours and down to 70 percent battery. Nothing to heavy on the battery yet.

Cons: Not a big con but getting a case is a must.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice tablet

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: The tablet is light and comfortable in my hands. It looks great indoors and not too bad outdoors. The Asus apps that comes with it are useful and easy to operate and allow my creativity to interfere with my work. The sound is great and it streams videos without a hitch. I use it with the Xfinity app to stream tv shows over wi-fi and it doesn't hitch or bog down at all.

Cons: Apparently it doesn't charge if it is in use. I find I need to shut it down to charge it. That's not a huge problem, though there are times when I can easily reach an outlet and would like to charge the tablet while I am using it.

Other Thoughts: This same tablet is available with Windows 8. After using Android and finding that some stupid things, like Adobe Flash, don't work with Android. Ordinarily that would not be a problem, but one of the reasons I bought the tablet was to more easily access a flash enabled web page for my job. Understandably, that's not a problem with the equipment but the bean counters at Adobe. Still, it's worth considering.

5 out of 5 eggsI have no buyer's remorse.

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: This tablet came in perfect condition, totally new and sealed. Out off the box it feels slick, sturdy, and beautiful.
Tablet has a nice screen, very good (for the size) sound, all connections I want, SD card slot, and everything else.
I did not find a bloated software, but to say truth, I did not look for it. May be later I'll uninstall software I do not need, but I have no reasons to complain
There is one glitch: I can watch Optimum TV on my old tablet, and I can't watch Optimum TV on my new ASUS because Optimum applet is not compatible with new device. I do not think that this is ASUS fault, I blame Cablevision for poor support and update of software

Cons: The only con I see is the charger. I used to think that folding charger prongs is a new normal. ASUS does not think so. I'd like ASUS to review charger design in order to make prongs foldable.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat tablet with apps compatability problrms

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: Fast unit with great picture and sound for tablet. Great for reading magazines with even small font.

Cons: Apps installation and compatibility problems. First problem I discovered when attempted to install Mozilla Firefox but got package invalid error. Than I attempted to install Adobe AIR (not Flash) but got got unknown installation error code (-24). Spend over an hour with Google support since both apps were downloaded from Play store but the steps I was told to perform didn't solve the problem but made Play store unusable cause it would force close as soon as you start it so I had no choice but perform factory reset which fixed the Play store but not the original problems. After that I was told to wait for reply from second level support. Couple of days later I was asked to send bug report following provided instruction but report was never created so there was nothing for me to attach. I attempted to generate the report by tapping appropriate option in developers settings but never got expected notification bug report captured. By that time an update to Mozilla Firefox became available so I attempted to download it but result was the same. Search online showed that package invalid used to be well known problem which was fixed with Play store update but not for me. I also found online that another user got the same problem while downloading Firefox. My examination of system requirement for both apps shows that Intel Atom processor this unit has isn't listed so I assume that's where the problem is so I decide to return the unit and get something else instead

Other Thoughts: After some much waste of time I started to look for replacement, First I thought to get Galaxy Tab 3 even while it has lover resolution screen but unfortunately it also uses Intel Atom processor so I decided not to take another chance and got second generation Nexus 7 which works fine for me so far plus pleant of return time

4 out of 5 eggsSo good so far

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-BL) Intel Atom 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: Jelly Bean 4.2
2 Gigs of memory (shared with video)
Micro-SD card expandability
Price
1920x1200 HD screen

Cons: No SDXC (64gb and up micro-sd)
Graphics is not as good as Nvidia Tegra
Loaded with bloat-ware from Asus

Other Thoughts: For what I paid for and since it is new, I hope it lasts for years... just wish that Google Play screened out the malware apps.
