4 out of 5 eggsGood Laptop

Pros: Decent speed, and decent video

Cons: I overpaid for it when it came out, it was for a client, but I didnt realize how poor 6570 can be in even minor gaming.

Other Thoughts: Good performance over all though

4 out of 5 eggsawesome buy

Pros: -Fast CPU
-Great GPU
-Wicked fast for an equally nice price
-Good gaming computer with a nice cooling pad
-Plays 1080p movies without any problems

Cons: -Overheating problems, details in other thoughts
-5400 rpm hard drive bottlenecks the speed of everything else

Other Thoughts: If you're doing anything more than normal video use (i.e. Youtube or movies), the laptop will start heating up quite a lot. I've seen cpu temps up to 75 C and GPU temps right behind it when I was gaming.
Laptop will lock up if you don't let it relax every couple hours, bought a cooling pad from newegg hoping it will help that.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: pretty good so far! Much better than I expected

Cons: NONE

1 out of 5 eggsGreat...six month life span

Pros: Worked okay with some flimsiness and not so great battery life (not surprised for core i7). Gamed okay with some high heat output.

Cons: Screen is bleak and with a bad 1366x768 resolution and not pretty to look at. Stupid power cord input, falls out all the time, like it's being squeezed out. Died yesterday after several months of random shutdowns/poweroffs. Not it won't start at all. First gen of Sandy Bridge with the channel 6 SATA issue.

Other Thoughts: It's sad that these are built so cheaply. I assume they knew it was a subpar/weak product when they sold it.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU, Cheap Everything Else

Pros: 1 CPU - very fast, handles AVCHD editing pretty well
2 Price - can't b beat for this CPU and GPU

Cons: 1 Keyboard does not pick up "light" strokes. I ignored this in other reviews because I thought I typed hard. Apparently not hard enough. You have to hit the keys dead on center with a good amount of force for it to register. This has become a major annoyance.

2 CD tray is always popping open - sometimes I accidentally hit the open button, but sometimes it just opens.

3 CD tray is very flimsy.

4 Trackpad is ok - could be less "sticky"

5 Bloatware and useless "touch sensitive buttons" feature

Other Thoughts: If I had to do it again I would spend the extra $100-200 and get a better quality machine. I bought it for the Power thinking the "little things" wouldn't matter. Well guess what I found out? They do. I'm coming from a Macbook Pro and I did not expect anywhere near that level of refinement. However I did not expect the difference to be this big. Everything (except cpu/gpu) about this laptop feels cheap (and is, which is why the price is so low). I can see why Macs cost so much more. Still I can't justify that premium anymore.

Bottom line: You get what you pay for.

1 out of 5 eggsFast, not reliable...stay away from this model

Pros: Fast, doesn't get very hot, nice display.

Cons: Unreliable: I shipped the first one back to Newegg after 24 hours due to a bad video card. The second one worked great for about 2 weeks, then suddenly developed a power problem...and it was a day too late to return it to Newegg and get my money back. So first Lenovo sent me a new AC adapter, which did not solve the problem. Off to the Lenovo repair depot, got it back in about a week. Paperwork said it was a loose wire. Worked fine for 6 days, same problem. Lenovo insisted on sending another AC adapter, which did not work. The laptop is back at the repair depot now. So my original purchase was early July, and in two months I've had a working laptop for a total of 3 weeks.

Other Thoughts: Lenovo had been recommended by a number of sources. I'm hoping this is a fluke (rather, a series of flukes), but given my experience, I'd probably shy away from Lenovo, or at least the Ideapads.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Performance for the price

Pros: - Radeon HD 6570m in a laptop for under 1k...incredible.
- DX 11 !!!!!!!!!!
- i7 2630QM, just as incredible as the Graphics card
- DDR3 1333, right up their with laptops far more pricy.

Cons: - 5,400 rpm hard drive
- Facial recognition software for logging in is greatly flawed
- the touch buttons on top of the keyboard are virtually useless

Other Thoughts: After looking at several laptops for performance and value, this laptop is perfect for a budget, and the best i have found for the price.

Max graphics settings with world of Warcraft sits right around 30 fps with dx11 enabled

5 out of 5 eggsGreat i7 Laptop

Pros: Does a great job of handling AVCHD Video editing/Burning using NERO. Doesn't lag at all. Windows 7 is also nice to use vs Vista.

Cons: As others noted the heat from the cpu on the left side gets a little hot but I don't think it's a concern. Just make sure you keep it vented.

Other Thoughts: I'm not a big gamer so I have not tried to run the graphics thru the ringer. I'd recommend this machine to my friends.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet laptop

Pros: So I bought this laptop cause of the specs on it period. For the price of 699.99 this can't be beat. I can play Battlefield Bad Company 2 with it maxed out and I mean EVERYTHING and still be able to play with no lag. Also it plays Arma 2 maxed out as well just choose not to. Its quick, good looking, has face recognition built in and does everything I can through at it. I'm just waiting for my Crysis 2 to get here which I'm sure will be able to play with everything at medium settings. The Radeon 6570m has good specs so playing games is nothing.

Cons: The unnecessary bloatware that this comes with is the only down side but really who cares when all you have to do is delete the ones you hate.

Other Thoughts: The lid looks sliver but if you look closly it has red in it which is neat but not why I got it. I did TONS of research on GPS,s and CPU's and found out this computer carries some nice hardware.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: This laptop rocks! Have had it since May 2011 and haven't had any problems. Between the Core i7 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and Windows 7 Ultimate, this laptop is fast. It has worked great for my class work, IT jobs, video editing, and anything else I can think to use it for.

Cons: No major cons with this laptop. Two minor things I noticed:

1) As others stated, the left Ctrl and Fn keys are reversed. Takes a while to get use to it.

2) The laptop does put out some heat from the fan on the left side. Just something to take into consideration.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this laptop is great for anyone who needs a fast, affordable, new laptop to serve any purpose. Drivers available for both Windows 7 and Windows XP which is a plus for those who may have software or external devices not compatible with Win 7. I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone and everyone.
