5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop for the price

Pros: It is a pretty low priced laptop. Pretty much using it for a Dev machine and it has worked great so far. Doesn't take long to boot. Has enough ram to get by. For the price you can't go wrong.

Cons: It could use a little better video card in it but it is OK to get by with. The resolution doesn't go as small as I would like it too.

Other Thoughts: I would upgrade the hard drive to an SSD and put in another 4 gigs of ram. After that it will be a awesome system.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Notebook

Pros: Great price on a Core i5 laptop. The keyboard is excellent compared to most laptop keyboards which are really hard to type on, plus it has a number pad. Decently lightweight but doesn't feel cheaply made. Not a lot of bloatware on it.

Cons: Slow HDD. Would be nice if it came with two 2GB sticks of ram instead of a single 4GB stick. The glossy black finish makes it really hard to keep clean.

Other Thoughts: Bought a SSD and 8GB of ram when I bought the laptop, so I was able to fixed the two real problems that I had with this computer fairly soon after I got it. This is a great price for a very nice laptop and can be upgraded easily.

5 out of 5 eggsGet it! You won't be disappointed!!

Pros: I upgraded to this system from another lenovo G570 that I purchased a few months ago and I am so glad I did! This computer is much, much faster (featuring the i5 processor instead of the 1.6Ghz Pentium that was in my last one). Physically, this laptop is identical with the exception that the shell is glossy on this one and matte on the old one. Processes run smoothly. The wifi network connection is discovered as soon as the system boots, as opposed to the old one that seemed to take several minutes after startup. LCD is beautiful and the HDMI port allows for up to 1080p (with sound) to be broadcast to your compatible tv. There's a decent amount of storage and memory for basic use, although I have already ordered a second 4Gb memory module for this.

Cons: None as of now! Excellent system!

Other Thoughts: I just can't say how happy I am with this laptop! I would highly recommend this laptop to someone looking to step up from a low budget computer or older laptop. The value for the money with this model simply cannot be beat! I have been an AMD fan for over a decade but I am thoroughly impressed with the Intel i5 processor (quad-core). I have owned a ton of PCs and laptops over the years, but I think this one is my all-time favorite! And newegg...you got it to me so fast that I was almost baffled! 5 Eggs all around.

5 out of 5 eggsworth it

Pros: The computer is great pretty quick, decent size and a fair amount of memory. This computer does what you expect great for the price

Cons: Battery doesnt last long and reminds you just before it shuts off which is annoying. The computer also has a purplish tint to it nothing major just ehhh

Other Thoughts: well worth the money and what you expect for 500 buck

4 out of 5 eggsGreat LAPTOP

Pros: great an I5 at this price, blows away the I3, many b960's and i3's selling at this same price , good quality not much bloat ware , 2 of teh lenovo programs are very good as opposed to most laptop companys that put ALL useless bloatware, this only had half bloatware PLUS 2 VERY good programs the facial recognition software and the power/battery software which greatly extends battery Life, some of the settings are available in win7powre settings BUT the one that controls when the battery Charges is not.
So the Power saver software is great

Cons: only Con I can see is that Lenovo cripples the capability of the machine by putting only one stick of 4gb ram in a dual channel memory Mobo, they should have put 2x2gb sticks in to get the advantage of dual channel .. DUH , also crippled it by putting a SLOW 500GB HDD. Lenovo buys parts in quantity I can buy a SATAIII for 90 bucks they should be able to get 10,000 of them for like 40 bucks a piece or less DUH what were you guys thinking

Other Thoughts: I got 2x4GB ddr 3 1333 for 40 bucks and a 120SSD for 95bucks and upgraded the machine .. Boot time went from 53 seconds to 14 seconds ! 3d MARK Scores increased by about 150%
the machine cost me 660 total cost plus my upgrades, now it runs like a 900 + dollar machine
the Intel Graphics are pretty good - plays many New games on med or high
If it had a separate GPU I am sure it would be scoring as high as the 1200 dollar stock machines(but my base price would have been higher)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money

Pros: For the money it was a great offer for me it has the ability to play computer games I play and still have the ability to be able to use for my school work. I would not get an i3 so i saw this i5 computer 4g of ram that I can upgrade for this price I just had to have it.

Cons: I like to say I know a lot about software for computers but I don't. I was unable to get java to load correctly untill I download an older version of java. It had a virus but that did not scare me it was nothing huge but I would check it once you get the computer in the mail so you don't have any problems down the line. Finger prints do show up so if you want to keep it looking new its a everyday process.

Other Thoughts: Good for the money scan for virus asap so you don't run in to any problems over all I would get it a 4/5

5 out of 5 eggsIts a laptop. A decent one.

Pros: - Good for web browsing
- Good for office applications
- Good for watching 720p HD movies
- Good for playing SOME new games at low/medium settings

Cons: There is nothing for me to complain about. I went into this knowing what I was purchasing and what I was getting for my money. No problems on this end so far.

Other Thoughts: If you go into this thinking your going to get a gaming platform or something that will help to encode/decode videos and other stuff, then you will sorely be disappointed. This laptop is at an entry level price point, which means that it is meant to be used only for simple tasks.
If you don't know how to do something, there is a Manual User's Guide on the desktop when you turn it on, it would be wise to go to that for any questions or concerns about your computing necessities. Keep in mind though, you have to install Adobe Acrobat Reader first seeing as its a pdf file which is provided.

Pros: Seemed like good value for the money!

Cons: Arrived with a defective display! Contacted Lenovo, and after 45 minutes of trouble shooting tech support guy suggested to return to Newegg for replacement—RMA’ed for replacement and also provided Lenovo’s ticket number. Newegg received it a week ago and are processing the request. Reps say that it may take 7 to 10 business days to process RMA requests (instead of usual 2-5 buniness days) for computers and other high valued items. So, please do keep that in mind if you are leaving for vacation, like myself, before ordering such items at Newegg. I am leaving in a week's time and not sure how it will be handled in my absence! Keeping my fingers crossed.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Enough For Me

Pros: Great price for an i5 processor.
Love the versatility of the battery and charging options.
Full keyboard in chiclet style with fairly large keys.
Runs quietly (Haven't tried running any resource intensive games on it so I don't know if the fan will kick into overdrive then.

Cons: Fingerprints will leave a mark on the laptop so give up trying to keep it spotless.
Battery Life is really average.
No USB 3.0.
Laptop is a bit bulkier then expected
Screen resolution is the bare minimum (1366x768)

Other Thoughts: It's definitely a good deal for the price and barely met the specs listed for my college so its a great entry laptop for the casual to mid-range user. If you're just looking for a laptop to last you for a couple years without being left behind as new technology comes out this is a good pick. Will I personally keep it for that long? Probably not, but that's why the price is so great so even if a new revolutionary processor or something comes out, I easily buy a new laptop without feeling I just tossed away a whole bunch of money buying an overpriced obsolete piece of technology.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the money

Pros: -Runs Grand Fantasia (an online MMORPG) just fine, and would probably run higher quality games as well, as long as they are on a low setting.
-Keyboard is great. It seems to feel much more like a real desktop keyboard then my boyfriends Asus laptop does.
-Decently lightweight
-Runs fast, I have never experienced lag or had it freeze yet.
-The laptop comes installed with certain Windows programs that others might be interested in such as Windows movie maker, and a "starter pack" of Windows Office 2010 that has a word processor.
-Does not come installed with a super lot of bloatware.
-It has lots of different battery saving options, including one option where if the user has their laptop plugged in most of the time, they can keep their power at only 50% in order to prolong the life of their battery and keep it from getting worn out quickly.
-This laptop is probably one of the best quality ones for it's price tag, considering it's i5 processor and it's number pad

Cons: -Scratches easily (my dog came up by me and ran his claw on it, left a scratch. Be careful with pets!)
-Whenever I turn on my laptop, I have to reconnect to my router. Don't know if this is a problem with my connection or the laptop itself, but my brother never had this problem with our router with his Asus laptop.
-Whenever I turn my laptop on I have to sit and wait for windows to update. I'm sure thats just because windows was probably installed long ago, though.
-Veriface (Face recognition) takes a long time to boot up and takes more then a few seconds to recognize my face, somewhat useless when i can just type in my password quickly to log on instead.
-Battery life seems much shorter then advertised. If I'm multitasking, such as playing a game and listening to music, I usually need to plug it in after what seems like only two hours.
-Although the touch pad is responsive, sometimes I have to attempt scrolling twice before it actually scrolls down a page.
-Had to pay for shippi

Other Thoughts: -The touch pad is unique. It is sort of a cross between having the bumps that some laptops have and being super smooth, so if having bumps in your touch pad bothers you but you want precision, you might love it!

I bought this laptop for college, and it should be great for watching movies, playing games, and taking some notes in class here and there ;)
