2 out of 5 eggsPoorly Built

Pros: All the electronics are fine. Good machine from a performance perspective however....

Cons: We had this just a little over a year then, the thing started to fall apart. First problem was the power receptacle inside the laptop came loose. It is not glued down only secured by a weak metal pressure bracket that eventually loosened and allowed the receptacle to be pushed inside the machine. Every so often, I have to open it up and re-secure it. Next thing that went was the power pack itself. Just died one day. Next thing, a couple month later, one of the LCD hinges froze up. Because the hinge froze, when I closed the laptop, the hinge broke and broke part of the plastic housing around the hinge. Had to order replacement hinges and repair. Then of course, like 2 weeks later, the second hinge froze and broke. In hind sight, I should have replaced them both at the same time since I had the thing apart. Taking the thing apart and putting it back together so many times, it has generally lost its quality.

Other Thoughts: This is not a laptop for good mobility. It does not wear well when constantly moving it, plugging it, unplugging it, etc. (all the stuff you would think should be fine for a laptop to do). It is probably a great laptop if you are going to leave it on a table plugged in all the time. But it does not have the ruggedness to actually be used as a laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Quality Low Cost Performer

Pros: Purchased from New Egg-added 4gig (easy to access with screwdriver). Ran diagnostics and thermal testing. All numbers above what machine specs at. Removal of Bloatware minimal, Window 7's back-up of Operating System just a few simple mouse clicks geared for inexperienced users. Does adequate job considering its a Microsoft systems program.
The Dynamic switching of video on the newer units offered by Levono isn't offered on this unit, even so it as no obvious drawbacks to graphic performance.
320g Hard Drive at 5400rpm isn't a performer, but works quite well.
Wireless, as always, a battery draw- but solid in performace and stability.
Keyboard has good response, and the on board camera/ microphone are usually found in more expensive systems.

Cons: Battery life shorter than advertised (at 4 hours) by an average of 26-34 minutes minimum power to 72-86 minutes maximum power-traced to Wireless, Hard Drive and cooling fan power consumption versus the 6 cell battery that is installed. (not bad overall)
Buy an extra battery if you feel you'll need one.
Ran a total of 7 baselines under low/high load tests and low/high power configurations on installed battery. Nothing serious, if you plan on keeping it on a 'leash' (power Cord).

Other Thoughts: The AMD 6320 Radeon HD is an Integrated (in processor) Graphics using shared system memory, with the 2g supplied, its another reason to add additional memory.
note:(All tests were "Out-Of-Box"- memory added after testing and backups were complete.)
Overall, another NewEgg excellent value and low price offering.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Great value, spiffy screen, not packed with bloatware. Super easy set up. Thin but has a DVD built in, nice trick.

Cons: 2G memory is just not enough. Slow to load internet pages on 2G. Easy upgrade, I put in chips from previous upgrades and it ran them all. I have run it on a single 8G chip, 2G+4G, and 2G+2G, it ran well on all combinations of oddball chips. Good that it is not so dang touchy like some other brands.
