Pros: - Very fast. - Bluetooth. - Wonderful as is. The price tag makes it spectacular. - Gaming ability is much higher than what I expected. - Great battery life (see Other Thoughts). - Keyboard is comfortable for me despite having large hands.
Cons: - Capacitive media buttons (don't quote me on that) require more of a "press" than a "touch" to operate. - Keyboard starts out being very quiet during typing but after a few months of constant usage, it gets the "clicky sound" thing going. I've had several Ideapads with these keyboards and it happens to all of them--I don't mind it, but it's something to consider if you prefer a quiet typing experience. - Touchpad is kind of finicky with the default drivers. Make sure to go straight to Synaptics and download their latest driver--it's a great touchpad afterwards.
Other Thoughts: AMD definitely beats Intel as far as performance-per-dollar on this machine. Very capable CPU; willingly takes whatever I throw at it.
I'll be honest...I turned mine on once with the factory-installed hard drive to make sure everything worked. After that, I installed a Crucial M4 256gb SSD and purchased an OEM copy of Windows 7 (not a big fan of 8 yet...) and all I have to say is wow. This thing is so quick for only having $750ish invested in it. Boots up in 15-20 seconds every time. The battery life (with SSD) is amazing. Using the Windows 7 "Power Saver" profile, it goes 4-6 hours easily. The "High Performance" profile definitely makes this machine shine though. I'm not a very heavy gamer but I do play WoW and TF2 when I'm not doing homework. This laptop averages 45-60 FPS in WoW (w/ vysnc) and stays between 55-60 FPS in TF2 (w/ vsync).
I'm not sure how much you would spend on a similarly capable Intel laptop but I'm certain it would be more than $750! Buy this machine, toss a SSD in it, and you're good to go. Highly recommend this one!
