5 out of 5 eggsDecent Laptop

Pros: Runs most games I throw at it - Minecraft, Borderlands, Skyrim (not at max, but at regular settings.) Dual video cards have not had any issues thus far, and no overheating even with sustained use.

Cons: Left control key keeps popping out of its place. Battery life is average (Gaming on battery is a bad idea anyhow.)

Other Thoughts: Worth the money, and used for work, play, and more. Lenovo seems to make a sturdy laptop.

3 out of 5 eggsWorst Touchpad Ever

Pros: Cool color and outside design(but I am a girl that likes purple), fairly lightweight, holds a charge decently well although I am never far from my charger.

I only use it for schoolwork and it works well enough for that. I did play FFXIV beta on it once weekend and was only able to manage simple things like fishing, but I didn't buy it to game on anyways, I just got bored at work during a beta weekend and wanted to see if it would even load. It did, on low laptop settings. I use my desktop PC for gaming.

Cons: Worst touchpad I have ever experienced in a laptop. And I've owned a few. Specifically, the left click/right click buttons. They're constantly registering that I'm clicking something when I'm not, or they don't register clicks at all. They also like to click and drag things randomly. I hate having to use a usb mouse with my laptops because it's an extra thing to carry around, but with this one it's almost a necessity.

I hate Windows 8. That's all I have to say about that.

No backlit keys, which I had before, and I knew this one didn't have them, however, now that I don't have them anymore I miss them badly.

Other Thoughts: I've had this thing for almost a year and I'm only writing a review now because it's gotten to the point where, once again, with my tax money, I'm going to be getting a new laptop. This one was a decent enough price at the time, and I guess I got what I paid for. The touchpad alone makes me want to smash it and never look back.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked good for 4 months

Pros: Worked great until the MB went out

Cons: Don't plan on using it more than 4 months

Other Thoughts: I never thought that after paying that much for a laptop, I would be stuck with a 250 repair. Guess I learned my leson

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Decent Price considering dedicated graphics card

That's about it.

Cons: Should have known better than to buy Lenovo. This laptop is a piece of garbage. It's out of stock and discontinued for a reason. The battery won't charge after very little use. ( Maybe 10 hours if that ) Says "Plugged in Not Charging" , if you pull the power cord, it goes off imminently . Won't connect to wifi , All other devices in the house connect just fine, but this paper weight will never connect. Have to plug it in via Ethernet cord. What a waste of money

Other Thoughts: Throw it out your window , It serves no purpose

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome For the Price

Pros: Very happy with the purchase, I had been looking for a decent computer for a while when I came across this grabbed it as soon as it went on sale. Well build feels solid touchpad is meh I prefer to use a mousegot it for 450 on sale and added more ram instantly since 4gb jus tseemed too little for todays standards. Could not be happier it runs on par or better than laptops in the 700+ range

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Upgraded the ram with an 8 Gig stick it recognized all 8 gigs plus the 4 stick in there already for a total of 12gb. going to try and get another 8 gig stick later

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: -Very nice size keyboard and numb pad layout
-Webcam works well
-A8 cpu helps with playing some games like Borderlands 2 (on low-med settings)
-Very fast plug and play system

Cons: -So far i am hating that the touch pad for the mouse doesnt have a slide bar area for going on web pages to move up or down a site.

-I am not a fan of where the mic is being that when typing your hand will be in the way but does seem to pick up my voice fine.

-Not use to windows 8 and will say i am not liking it that much with it not having a start icon, skype app muting itself if you tab out, some programs i used on win 7 tend to not run right or at all on win 8,having to link your skype account with microsoft account together, win 8 menu is a pain at times, and just random odds and ends that i dont like about the OS

-I do love the log in screen style with the stock picture it comes up as but as for having to use your windows login password i dont really care for that idea. i will be looking into seeing if i can change that and i hope i can.

Other Thoughts: Over all for the laptop itself I am loving everything about it besides the mic which isnt a turn off in my book. the keys are great size and spaced out just right for my liking and having a numb pad is a lovely plus. Also being that the laptop is so light that i forget its a 15.6" size screen. So Lenovo did it right with this one but i have only had this laptop for almost a month so who knows what will happen.

4 out of 5 eggsNot a bad machine

Pros: Price, dedicated video card

Cons: windows 8

Other Thoughts: Not a bad machine for the price. Video editing is main focus. After reading the reviews about this machine, I still opted to purchase and give it a shot. Biggest cons being windows 8, the wifi, and the touchpad. I gave windows 8 a chance (almost a month) and then pulled the trigger and loaded windows 7. WOW what a difference! Lenovo is pretty good about always having drivers on their website and this machine was relatively easy getting into the bios for boot settings. Wifi has not really given me any issues YET. Now that win7 is loaded, the touchpad works FINE!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat low-level gaming computer

Pros: I bought this computer for a friend as a low-level gaming computer. It was meant to play games like Sims 3 and Age of Empires. While Sims 3 takes a long time to load, that's just because Sims 3 ALWAYS takes a long time to load unless you have a $3000 computer. Also, Sims 3 runs at around medium-high graphics settings with decent FPS.

Overall, for a laptop this thing has an impressive amount of power and is still light enough to carry around with one arm unlike an Alienware full-gaming laptop which is big and bulky.

Cons: It does not run Crysis 3.

The processor isn't all that spectacular. Frankly, it's not anything to be excited about. If you have CPU-bottleneck game, then this may not be the best choice.

Other Thoughts: Overall if you want a computer to play some medium or low-level graphics games, this is the computer for you. Just don't expect it to run games like Crysis 3. It probably won't even run games like Assasins Creed 3 except for at very low settings.

Also, any game with a CPU bottleneck will hate this computer. After doing some checking on the CPU's power, I'm not impressed. Battlefield may not be a good game for this PC.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value computer

Pros: Low Price
Affordable Graphics
Physically well designed
Good Audio

Cons: Windows 8
drivers are not ready out of box
poor wireless card
touch pad is badly designed

Other Thoughts: Pros:

Basically, I've enjoyed this computer quite a bit. It does everything I thought it would do for the price. I'm impressed with the quality of build, affordable graphics (consider them above average at best though) and how quiet the system is. Having used Acer, Dell, and Sony notebooks in the past, I'm very impressed with the quality of the audio on such an affordable computer. Speakers are clear, loud and sharp. The headphone jack has no hiss or pop like some systems.

The computer feels solid, and having replaced the RAM it's very easy to work on. I'm a curious person and so as I was upgrading the RAM on the computer, I explored the innards some and compared to other brands I've disassembled, it was relativity easy.

The computer comes with Windows 8 and simply put, Windows 8 is easily one of the weaker offerings Microsoft has put out. After 6 months on Windows 8 I'm still considering spending the time and effort to downgrade back to 7.

I had a lot of trouble with the drivers on this computer out of the box. Graphics were not displaying properly, the audio wasn't working, the wireless card simply would not find my routers and some of the keyboard hot keys didn't operate as they should. While Lenovo seems to take good care of their Thinkpad customers, the Ideapad customer is obviously less important and the website is just pitiful. But, after several hours of Googling, searching and hunting I found the proper drivers I needed, got everything installed, and now the computer is running like a champ.

The wireless card is the cheapest one they could put in the computer. It isn't fast, won't do 5bit, has poor range, and sometimes gets confused and you have to reconnect. But, it isn't a surprise. You know from reading the specs on the site that the wireless card from this computer is junk. Just don't expect more.

The touchpad on this computer is the only thing I find to be cheaply constructed. It feels cheap, responds cheaply and the buttons are not real responsive. I got used to it eventually and can manage pretty well, but every person who borrows my computer to use complains about the poor touch pad. I use a wireless mouse 90% of the time so it isn't a game changer, but if might be annoying to people who use the touchpad more often.

All in all, for the price it isn't a bad computer for someone who wants good audio, the ability to game on average graphics settings, and a computer that's built pretty well.

4 out of 5 eggsWife loves it

Pros: quite an upgrade from a Pentium 4 non-HT 1.6, do not really need the 7670M but it helps to future proof the machine, even while watching HD Netflix it runs cool with no lagging of any kind, put the Classic Shell on for Win 8 and the lovely is happy, blows the doors off my HP G62 laptop using a Phenom II X4 1.8 and Radeon 4250 in speed and video quality

Cons: The hinges for the screen seem weak, when opening the screen it feels flimsy, still not a fan the tiles in Win 8 but Classic Shell works very well
