3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Can hook up 2 monitors to it to give you a three screen experience. One in DVI and on in HDMI. Lighter than my Alienware laptop.

Cons: C drive has smaller storage capacity than the second HDD. Had to arrange the User settings to store into the second drive. Still run out of room for programs and Windows updates.

1 out of 5 eggsMine was NOT GOOD

Pros: Good Price for a i7-4702MQ and a GTX 760M with a 1080p screen

Cons: For what was at the time a Acer Flagship Gaming model computer, the Driver Support from was the worst I've ever delt with.
No Drivers were ever made by Acer for Windows 7 and at the time Windows 8 had only been out for maybe 1 year, sounds like some strong arm deal between Microsoft and the hardware vendors, let's push Windows 8 on the customers. Unfortunately, Acer's V3 772G laptop would BSOD with the stock Windows 8 drivers. Some folks had done a BIOS update to correct screen problems and then the new update fixed some of the users screen issues but then as a side effect made their systems BSOD. I luckily caught this in the Acer websites user forum and did not flash my BIOS. Acer left none of the previous BIOS up for download so you could revert changes and some people were left with a $900 paper weight until they issued a proper update, if they ever did. Unfortunately, I as well ended up with a $900 paper weight from the constant BSOD's and I chopped it up for parts. Hard drive, Processor, RAM, WiFi card and used all of those to put into a bare bones whitebook gaming laptop. I may have tried Windows 10 but I scrapped this piece of caca a year before the release of Windows 10. The half decent driver support from Windows 10 may have brought it back to life. All in all, Acer has gone down the tubes since they decided not to manufacture their own systems in their own factories, using the cheap huge macro electronics producers such as Compal or Foxxconn in China with minimal supervision of their line has brought a very bad decrease in quality and stability. I used to professionally sell Acer computers and the company I worked for quit carrying their line for increased returns and problems subsequent to their choice to change manufacturing on the cheap.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this product

4 out of 5 eggsWorthwhile Purchase

Pros: Bought this from Newegg back in April 2014 for $1,200. It works wonders! One thing that Acer oddly forgets to mention is a third HDD slot for another hard drive. Recently added a 500GB SSD, and the machine runs beautifully.

Surprisingly I haven't tried maximizing the RAM, but at 12GB it's not really necessary. Games run great, especially heavily modded ones such as Skyrim and GTA:V.

Cons: I have had a few overheating issues lately, but I've also been in Afghanistan for the past few months, so it's expected. Mostly with select games (Witcher 2, Dragon Age: Inquisition) playing with high-quality graphics. Blow the dust out, and it's good to go!

Other Thoughts: This machine has been a beauty and is a blessing to have around for Skyping with the family, and catching movies, music and games.

Minus the overheating issue with select games, this system was well worth the price at the time.

TL:DR - A worthwhile purchase! Not disappointed by any means - Get it! :-)

5 out of 5 eggsVERSATILE LAPTOP

Pros: This is a great laptop for almost anything you could want to do. 12gb of RAM is enough for multi-tasking memory intensive programs. The combined 120gb SSD with 1TB HDD gives speed for OS load (12s) while giving the user tons of storage space. Memory can easily be upgraded to 16gb with 1 chip, 24gb with 2x8gb chips (using 2x4gb of existing chips) or to 32gb using 4x8gb chips (all new).

Screen size is good. Keyboard is reactive with low-profile keys.

Graphics through the GeForce GTX 760M are good. Can keep up with most high-density graphic intensive programs.

2x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0 with Blue-Ray/DVD HDMI RJ45 SD Card slot and headphone/microphone connectors.

1 USB port has Power-Off Charging built-in.

Cons: Keybooard keys are slightly far apart. Touchpad is too sensitive, I deactivate it and use a mouse. Graphic card is good but not great. Averages around 25-35 fps in World of Tanks and some other games. Most games 35-60fps.

Other Thoughts: For the price this is a great Laptop. 2 hard drive bays with 4 memory slots for expansions and mix and match. I have traveled quite a bit with this laptop and it is a little cumbersome even in a large Laptop backpack but is a great replacement for a desktop especially when travelling. I use it for Digital Forensic investigations and have never had any problems or needed more speed. Works great, runs lots of concurrent tasks, with Virtual Machines runs all of the required OSes without pause.

I love it. Got one from my wife and one for my son and they both use theirs as much as I use mine.

1 out of 5 eggs2 lemons so far

Pros: The computer is very fast. I like the combination of HDD and SSD.

Cons: The first one that was sent to me was dead on arrival. It had some issue booting up, and from day one it would only show me the blue screen of death. The second computer that they sent me lasted about 6 months and then the screen stopped working. The mouse pad is also very shaky and hard to use in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend buying a different computer. But if you do buy this one definitely buy the protection plan. You will probably need it.

4 out of 5 eggsEnjoyable Laptop

Pros: Wide and relatively thin.
Super fast boot speeds with the SSD.
1 TB of extra storage for games/programs.
Full keyboard
SD card reader
Blu-Ray drive
HDMI port
Runs cool when not using the videocard.
Nice ventilation
12GB of RAM
Expansion slot for even more storage!
Dolby Home Theater speakers.
Core i7 processor

Cons: Blue tinted screen can really catch you off guard like it did to me.
Battery life suffers from everything thats packed in to this laptop.
No capslock, numlock, etc light to tell you if its on or not.
Touch pad is large and can be accidentally tapped, messing up whatever you're typing.
Sometimes shuts down when booting up, second time boots fine.

Other Thoughts: While there are some slightly annoying flaws in the design of this laptop, I can say that I thoroughly enjoy it. It's super fast for what I want to do. Gaming in my spare time and Web Development for my job. Programs launch quickly off the SSD games run smoothly on decent settings.

Don't expect to run everything on max settings though!

The battery only lasts for 3 and a half hours, so taking this on a road trip isn't the greatest experience, especially if you plan to play games which will cut that time in half.

The blue tint is definitely noticeable, but you get used to it. You can try to adjust the colors to counteract the tint, but you might find that it just won't go away.

The touch pad is nice and large, but that also means your wrist taps on it while typing, which can cause jumbled messes or make it so you're not typing anything at all, which can get annoying. You can disable the touch pad via FN + f7 though and plug in a mouse which will make it all easier.

The caps lock light's non-existence is also kind of annoying. When you find out you typed something in all caps because you looked down or away from the screen, but it's not a deal breaker in any way.

And finally, for some reason, my laptop fails to boot up the first time after it shuts off for a little while. Not sure of what causes this or if it's a wide-spread issue, but so far it's nothing more than a small annoyance as long as it doesn't result in a harddrive crash or something.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good for the price

Pros: Lightning fast boot up with ssd
plenty of hd space,
runs Photoshop and Illustrator smoothly
large screen real estate

Cons: The screen is VERY blue tinted, it drove me crazy trying to correct it t first but I gave up and just got used to it. It's not really a gloss screen so it's not quite as sharp as say the HP Envy's radiant displays but it's serviceable.

The speakers are loud but kind of lacking in sound quality.

The wireless adapter sometimes fritzes and shuts off every 15 min or so. It's working alright now but it still has it's off days.

Other Thoughts: For the price? Still the best value. It has small issues and it's not the prettiest computer out there but it definitely does it's job.

5 out of 5 eggsThird hard drive installed & correction

Pros: This is is a quick follow up to my prior review. First I want to correct the hard drive size, it's a 1TB not a 750GB. Also I wanted to add that the 120GB SSD is a mSATA SSD.
I just installed an HGST 1TB bought from Newegg. The laptop does not I have a caddy but luckily I found one online for a good price and it fits perfectly. So at this point I have the 120GB SSD (mSATA), the 1TB 5400 RPM and the newly installed HGST 1TB 7200 RPM for a grand total of three hard drives.

Cons: No cons.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast Core i7 CPU, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD Drive plus 750GB Drive plus a third slot for another hard drive. GTX760M, full HD LED screen, etc. For what they are giving you, this is the best offer at this price point. I'm in the process of adding the third hard drive (1TB 7200RPM). I'm also adding an additional 4GB of RAM (yes, there's an empty slot) for a grand total of 16GB. No driver issues as others are reporting. As for gaming, I've only tried two games; Borderlands and Dishonored. Both games run at the highest settings with no problems at all. I had prior experience with Windows 8 but I can see how some might have trouble getting used to it. Overall highly recommended.

Cons: No cons that I can think of.
