How many HD bays does it have?

The spec says it is one 1TB drive. I did not believe it and bought the laptop to see whether it is true. To my surprise the real laptop has one 1TB drive too.

Does this machine have an HDMI outlet to plug into a TV?

Yes it does. That was a required feature by me in order to purchase it. The HDMI outlet is on the left side of the PC.

I need to update this answer because it is incorrect. I did more research into this and finally found a review from a site I trust and 16GB is the max ram for this laptop, 8GB is the usual for it to come with installed. I finally found the tech specs of the Lenovo IdeaPad Z710, which is the actual name of this device on a site I teust.

Like the machine, hate Windows 8. Possible to get it loaded with 7?

Short answer: Yes

HOWEVER: all computers with Windows 8/8.1 Can Have another version of windows or even Linux put on it. To do this requires going into BIOS and changing settings, having an install disk, and usually making a factory recovery disk(s) first, plus tracking down all your machines drives. This process is a bit technical and research on how to do it or having a professional do it is recommended.

EASIER SOLUTION: use Windows 8/8.1 with a start button program, Google it, to get the look and feel of Windows 7 by just installing an app instead of all the effort it takes to install another operating system.

Does it come with any software - specifically Microsoft Office?

Nope. No Microsoft Office. You can get Office on Newegg though :) This laptop has very little software on it (Which is a good thing) also, good guy lenovo even includes all the drivers you need on a separate partition of the hard drive making a clean installation of Windows a breeze.

I purchased this, seeing that it came with a Windows 10 when available.  I know it will be about 6 months, but when it is available, how do I get it?

you should be able to use the Windows Update button in the control panel settings. When Windows 10 becomes available it will show as an option.

Can you recommend Ram memory to buy to change this to 16GB?

It uses DDR3L 1600. Make sure to get the 8 GB modules or 8X2 (2 8 GB) Make sure that what you get has at least 4 star user rating. Beyond that I can't make recommendations as until I have a little more cash I am stuck with the 8 GB that came with it.

Question 10

Does the graphics card support extending the desktop to two external displays (three displays total)? (one monitor on the HDMI and one on the VGA). My current laptop can connect to two external displays, but can only extend the desktop to two of the three at a time. Thanks.
