I just bought this product and need to no if it comes with a charger?

It uses a standard miniUSB connection as the charger port, and it comes with a USB cord and a travel adapter (100-240 v), so short answer is, yes.  By the way, I really like this tablet - it's a great ebook reader with the high definition (and somewhat larger) display.

does this unit have a built in SIM card slot to allow it to have 4G wireless data from a cellular carrier added to it?

The only slot on this tablet is a micro SD card slot at the
top of the device. I referenced the instruction manual with a detailed description of the device and there is no SIM slot mentioned anywhere. Hope this helps.

does it have ir blaster ?

Yes, it does have an IR blaster.  It also comes with a LG app called QuickRemote already installed.  It was pretty easy to configure QuickRemote to control both my TV (Samsung, Sony) and cable box, in two different rooms.

can it be used as a tv remote?

Yes you can. It works for cable/satellite boxes in addition to just about any tv. To do so you launch the quick remote app and add your device.the wizard is very simple and quick to use to set up your device. The IR blaster is on the top of the tablet while in portrait mode on the right side.

Will this device let me access my hotmail account, surf the web, and use open office spreadsheets?

This device will let you set up your hotmail account through the native email so, or through the web browser, which will allow you to surf the web with ease.  While there isn't an open office application, apps like Google Docs and Office Pro will allow you to open, edit, and create word processing documents, spreadsheet docs, and presentations in the same fashion.  You can even save these documents in the Microsoft office format, which will allow you to open them in open office or Microsoft office on any computer.

Apparently it doesn't have a SIM card slot so is it capable of using VideoChat, Skype or voice calls as my cell phone does?

It doesn't have cellular connectivity, so you can't make calls using you cell service. It's an Android tablet and it can be used for any IP based communication: Skype, VideoChat, internet browsing... as long as it's connected to internet using Wi-Fi.

I've been using my G Pad 8.3 for about 3 month now and in my opinion all of the con's of that device should be considered minor. Arguably it's a best price/size/performance option on the market.

battery life?

I use the tablet for taking pictures of headstones to publish to the Billion Graves website.   I am not connected to a internet provider so my answer is very limited.  My battery experience is 3 to 4 hours taking pictures. That equals  700 to 800 high quality pictures with the GPS active to mark the headstone picture location. And 3 to 4 hours of standby time while traveling and running errands.  Upon arrival at home I have 30% - 40% battery left.

What voltage range does the AC Adapter accept? Is it only for 100-120v, or worlwide 100-240v?

The adapter states 100-120V - 50/60Hz - 0.3A.  So, it does look like it is universal.  The part number is MCS-04WR2.

What brand of microSD works with this tablet?

I purchased a Team 64GB MicroSDXC Flash Card which does not seem to work with this tablet.

It's spec'ed for up to 64GB, so any good card that size should work.  I use a SanDisk Ultra 32GB and it works fine.  Is your Team card new?  Did you format it after inserting it in the G Pad (which would be a good idea)?

In my experience, SanDisk, Transcend, Kingston work well.  I don't know Team, so unless you can test it in another device, it's probably an issue with the card.

Question 10

Does anyone else have a screen that is extremely yellow? All of my whites look like they've been peed on

Mine seem fine. I have noticed that the auto-adustment for the brightness is over-agressive and sets itself too dark. I had to turn that off and adjust the brightness way up.  Have you tried that to see if it helps? If it doesn't then maybe there's a defect in that unit.
