1 out of 5 eggshorrible quality, horrible warranty service

Pros: It worked for just about a year.

Cons: Absolutely horrible warranty service. Purchased 2 of these tablets in September 2014. One unit failed, will not power on at all, on charger or not. A Google search revealed this is an incredbily common problem. Tried some of the suggested fixes I found and nothing worked. Contacted LG and they provided a return shipping label and return authorization. Shipped the product right away.

A few days later the SECOND unit failed with the same symptoms. Obviously this is a very common issue. I called in and again received a return authorization with shipping label. Shipped that one right away.

Now after having my first tablet for a week or so they are saying it is out of warranty by manufacturer date code. Called and provided proof of purchase but they are saying since they RECEIVED the tablet after the warranty period ended, even though I called in during the warranty period and used their shipping label to return the tablet, that they are still considering it out of warranty. Spoke with a supervisor who was absolutely no help.

They have not contacted me about the 2nd tablet but I'm sure the answer will be the same.

I am beyond upset with the quality of this product and LG's warranty service which is horrible. They clearly do not care about the quality of their products or their customers who pay good money for them.

3 out of 5 eggsNice tablet

Pros: Very nice specs, performance, and features for the price.

Cons: The screen is pretty much impossible to see when in direct sunlight. Out of the three that I (we) purchased, two needed to be RMAed for USB port issues (wouldn't take a charge; likely the USB ports came free from the PCB). We were told shipping would be covered under warranty, then after over a week of waiting for the shipping label (that was verbally promised), we were told that we had to pay shipping. I hate it when company representatives lie to customers. Left a bad taste.

Other Thoughts: Other than the poor USB port durability, overall quality seems good.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Tablet

Pros: Competent processor
Good support with a wide selection of custom roms
MicroSD expansion
Good battery life (6 hours of screen-on time)
Ideal screen size

Cons: Pretty severe backlight bleed in my unit
Not a fan of the stock rom

Other Thoughts: This is an amazing tablet. The processing package is not bleeding-edge anymore, but it is still more than competent. One egg was deducted because my unit suffers from backlight bleed. I should have noticed before I rooted and flashed CM onto it. Now I'm pretty sure that I've voided the warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tablet

Pros: The screen is great the weight is nice. Nice screen size.

Cons: Not a lot bad to say about this tablet, other than the software. Easy fix is a new launcher unless you like to have fun and root. also hardly any case options.

Other Thoughts: Really just and underrated tablet. Should have been more popular than it was/is.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little tablet

Pros: * Perfect size/weight
* Quad-core
* Full HD (1080p) screen
* 2 GB Ram
* MicroSD card slot
* Q-Pair

Cons: Wasn't cheaper...

Other Thoughts: I've owned this little tablet for a couple of months now, and I love it. My previous tablet was an Asus 10-inch Transformer (original version). While it was a fine tablet in its day, it did become quite slow and a bit unstable over time. Yes, I probably could have revived it by doing a factory wipe and reinstalling everything, or by installing a different Rom altogether, but I was also looking for something a bit smaller and lighter. The Asus is a lot of things, but *light* isn't one of them. The LG is perfect at 8.3 inches, and quite light. I wasn't sure if I'd like a tablet smaller than 10 inches, but I find that I don't really miss the difference in size.

One of my favorite features on this is the Q-Pair application. Using Bluetooth, I can have my phone (Samsung G3) on my charger in my bedroom, while still seeing (and responding to) text messages, and seeing incoming phone calls to my phone. Unfortunately, since I don't have an LG phone, I can't answer phone calls, but that's okay. At least I don't miss them completely now, and I can keep my phone on my charger in the evenings.

4 out of 5 eggsI love it

Pros: I have been very pleased with this tablet. I use it primarily for reading / annotating documents. I find the touch screen very specific. And although the background light is not "super bright" it is bright enough to read with ease and the colors are natural. The battery life is good. Also moving between documents and book chapters is very smooth.

Cons: With the update of the android system to KitKat you will get several issues when trying to use the SD card which can be annoying .. I had to root the tablet to get over this problem.

Pros: it worked normally for some time

Cons: Device stopped working suddenly. It will not charge (tried original as well as LG G2 charger). Could not hard reset as well (Power and VOL down button for > 30 seconds) after trying charging it for > 1 Hr.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy..

Pros: I recently obtained this tablet on a 199.99 special for a refurbished model on another seller and I have to say I am impressed for 200$.

-Snapdragon 600 (1.7Ghz). This is a snappy little thing. On par with something like an Galaxy S4 or an HTC One (M7). It's one of the top mobile CPUs today. This will be the Note 8 and the Nexus 7 (yes the 2013 refresh) in terms of overall performance.

-2GB of ram. Awesome. Multitasks like a beast, swaps between apps fast.

-11GB of Storage + microSD slot. It's worth noting that 4.4.2 bring some mSD write issues. These issues can be fixed if you are rooted and edit the platform.xml file under ect/permissions/platform.xml with any file explorer that has root support.

It's literally a single line you add under WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE.
<group gid="media_rw" /> and your SD card should work for everything.

-Awesome DPI. It's nice to see tablet makers pushing their 7/8 inch tablets past the terrible 1280x800, up a notch. This device comes in at a very health 272PPI and gives me a very crisp image. Great for watching HD videos, and text looks very clear.

Cons: -Camera(S). Both of them are pretty mediocre. I don't use my tablet camera, I assume most people don't either, but it would be nice to see some effort on this part. Even for skype I found the front facing one to be a little fuzzy.

-Bloatware. While I found some of the features like Knock-on/off and Qpair to be really handy, there was a good bit of bloatware to clear out via Titanium-Backup. I really hate that device makers pre-install this junk and it's a trend that should really stop. At the very least make it so normal users can uninstall it without rooting their device.

-Software. I'm also not a fan of LG's skin and bloated software. I'm still trying to find a rom I really like for this device, CM11 doesn't really do it for me.

-Speaker Placement. After using a HTC One for the past year, any device without front facing speakers really sucks. While I don't use the speakers that often, I feel no android device should have rear-facing speakers in this day in age.

-Battery Life. I'm not sure what I expected, but I get a subpar 6hrs while watching videos. I was hoping for something a little better, but I may just opt for a backup battery. With low brightness and all off the extras (wifi/bt) turned off, I do get a solid 9+ hours of reading though.

Other Thoughts: All-in-All, at a ~200$ price point, this is an amazing buy. But if you are buying at MSRP, there are better options out there and better things on the way.

4 out of 5 eggsLG. heading in the right direction

Pros: -quad core(1.7ghz)

-reasonably decent DPI for a resolution of 1920X1200

-will properly root.

-Battery life was reasonable, 6+ hours gaming, watching videos.

-Both camera's work, slightly noticeable sound while it tries to refocus but not a prob for most people.

-2GB ram? wish more tab's came with this much.

-11GB user storage+ SD card slot for more space

-IR blaster worked like it should.

Cons: -LG's software (switched to CM11 instead)

-Likely prone to breaking, more padding internally could help.

-Didn't have a camera flash, wasn't expecting one though.

-No extensive testing on using SD card for apps, doesn't seem to want to let you.

-speaker placement, how about front facing speakers LG? (one of the reasons for poor sound quality IMO)

Other Thoughts: Given it's small drawbacks here and there, this tablet has held up fairly well to my everyday use. I'd recommend anyone getting this also get a cover for it, i may be resistant to scratches somewhat, but it's not immune to them. also, microfiber cloth works well to keep fingerprints off of it.

a decent tablet, held up well to the abuse it's been through. a bit expensive perhaps?
