1 out of 5 eggsGood Specs Bad Software

Pros: Quad Core CPU at 1.7GHZ
2GB of RAM
Decent Battery Life

Cons: LG's take on 4.4 KK is horrible for casting videos. Android.system.UI continually crashes when casting videos from any app (plex, youtube etc) to any mobile player (roku, chromecast etc)

LG's Quick Pad Case is 70 bucks. Why ? Its not worth more than 20 bucks

Chat support is never available, phone support takes forever and email support will take about 3 days to get back to you

Other Thoughts: I only bought this device as i love my Nexus 4 which was made by LG. Well that was a bad call on my part. LG's take on 4.4 KK causes other apps to crash, LG's update center continually prompts me to install updates for applications that are not installed. The tablet will continually vibrate until the battery dies if two pushover notifications are received in close succession while its in sleep mode. No bug reporting and i could go on.

3 out of 5 eggsLg Gpad 8.3

Pros: Screen quality, Lg cool functions, ratio performance/price, very compact.

Cons: Battery life is disapointing ... 1 or 2 day ... i was hoping more for a tablet!!!! It's my main cons but it's a huge one it's always plug in the fu"#($*g wall !!! Other thing i found is that the camera are not the best.

Other Thoughts: For 250$ I still think that it's the best tablet you can have for your money !!! Samsung tab 3 or 4 can't compete at all with the snapdragon 600 and the wonderful screen of this samsung!!!!

1 out of 5 eggsLG G Pad 8.3 v500

Pros: smooth and fluid performance, LG QPair, Excellent UI in my opinion, very nice build quality

Cons: EXTREMELY dim screen, distorted and YELLOW coloring/tint on EVERYTHING

Other Thoughts: Great idea from LG, very poorexecution in regards to the screen. I'm an LG fan, I have the Optimus g pro phone which is fantastic in every way, sadly this tablets screen is hugely dissappointing. YELLOW tint on everything and very dim with no ability to increase brightness. 100 percent brightness on this LG Gpad is equivelant to 37 percent on my sons old galaxy tab 2 - 7inch. However Bestbuyv500 models do not have the yellow tint, just the extremly dim issue. Movies are un watchable as they are all way way too dark. Even bright movies like frozen look terrible. I paid 240 here on rottenegg, had it for less than an hour, rma'd and lost 36 for restocking fee and 12 return shipping. Do yourself a favor and google the yellow tint on this tablet, its a big problem with rottenegg models. There is comparison videos on youtube as well. Possibly a bad batch or kounterfeits. Galaxy tab pro is way better and only 10-30 bucks more. I'll neverstrayfromamazonagain. Hope this helps others.

5 out of 5 eggsStill a strong competitor

Pros: Got this on sale for $130, added a 64GB micro SD card. It does everything you could need from an android tablet. I also own the first ever Android tablet, the Xoom, and also nexus 7. This is the size I keep coming back to. It has great support on XDA forums for rooting and loading custom ROMs. Already running lollipop on it. I also own an LG G2 and Qpair is very convenient. Price still seems steep today but maybe if you can find a Newegg refurb for under 200 get it.

Cons: Slight edge bleeding when viewing at night

1 out of 5 eggsHorrific Customer Service

Pros: Great Screen
Was nice while it lasted

Cons: Battery life deteriorated quickly
Stopped working
Horrible Customer Service.

Other Thoughts: Happily owned this for several months before battery life became abysmal. One day it stopped charging at all and would not power on. Did a RMA, received back several days after promised wrapped in thin bubble wrap, MISSING the orignal box I sent it in. Worked fine for 2 weeks. Same EXACT issue occurred. Called back in asking for a replacement. Told they could not do that, I had to pay to send it in again to be "repaired". Not happy at all about that but said fine. Was told I'd receive a new RMA email. Never received. I know I got a lemon, it happens 1 star for LG's customer service and "repair" department.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Device!

Pros: I bought this as a gift for a family member, but have to say after setting it up the screen is great, the features like the SD slot are necessary and I actually appreciate the features LG adds to android. As with any mobile device, take a few minutes to set it up correctly, such as adding an SD card up front, and it will improve the experience.

Cons: 1 Egg for the speakers which are backward facing and a bit tinny compared to other devices I've used, otherwise this is about as solid of an android tablet as you can ask for. I would also like a bit more on board memory, but didn't take anything off since it has an SD slot.

2 out of 5 eggsWhat was LG thinking?

Pros: Nice size. Responsive. Does what any tablet is designed to do.

Cons: Crack the glass and here is what to expect. $215 replacement cost (Cheapest internet price). That's if you are willing to send it off for repair. Around town price to fix, $250. That's if they can find the part.

Other Thoughts: I had bought a cover for it and passed on insurance only because I have never had an issue breaking any of my devices. I didn't purchase this through Newegg but from a carrier. To carriers I say, Baaaaah! To LG I wonder what the heck they were thinking to create and selling a a device that cost near as much to fix as it does to buy a new one?

1 out of 5 eggsLoathe Detest

Pros: None

Cons: LG Software
Sensitive Screen (even my headphones wire work on the screen)

Other Thoughts: Former Nexus 7 2nd Gen user, thought I would give this tablet a try. I was really really disappointed in the software interface. I really hate this tablet, and I'm trying my best to get rid of it.

5 out of 5 eggsCM11 + LGV500 FTW!

Pros: Once you dump the stock ROM this device really flies. It is snappy and the screen looks great. The size is perfect for pretty much everything and it is super light weight.

Cons: -Back is cool looking aluminum but quite slippery, get a case.
-Price is all over the place, I got it for $250 which is the most I would pay for this tablet. Bezos has them for $269 as of this writing.
-No tablet seems to be able to run .MKV video files so I cannot watch certain files.

Other Thoughts: Good deal, I am very happy with this device. Installing CM11 + TWRP was very easy and now it is basically a Google Edition device for $100 off list price
