I was looking to upgrade the ssd when(if) I got mine. What is the length of the m.2 ssd slot that is not occupied? Is it 80mm or 42mm, or something else?

Hello, I have not change the m.2 yet. However, I believe that the PC does use the long m.2 hard drive.

Yes you can simply add another stick of RAM as I did. There is a second m.2 SSD slot to add whatever size drive you would like. This is the best gaming laptop I have ever had and have purchased one every year, several years in a row.
