What is the severity of the bloatware on this model from carriers? Is it easily removed or disabled?

Honestly, there is not much bloat on it at all. Pretty much all of the extra apps are welcomed and cool - the Dabbler app lets you paint/draw, there are 3 Shield related apps so you can run it in console mode, pair with your computer (also has your game library and store), and a help  app. Plus one app for the GRID Beta gaming feature. Outside of that there are just a few other apps for productivity, really not a big deal at all.

To remove apps you can either root and then use the purchased version of Titanium Backup or do the easy shortcut and get a launcher and hide the apps (which doesn't really remove it but it's really easy).

Can i get 6.0 marshmellow instead of kitkat?

not available at the moment. I heard the 16gig non LTE did got 6.0. It would be awesome if the 32gig LTE version would without rooting it. I'm guessing AT&T maybe the holdup. I only use it on WiFi and still have to wait, which makes it really suck.

I wanted to know what does it mean unlocked????

That you are able to use a provider other than AT&T. However those providers are limited to two others since I last read info on Nvidia web site. One is a canadian cellular provider and the other is T-Mobile I believe.

Can I put a game on a hard drive and play it on the tablet? Or do I have to stream it?

Are you talking about a portable hhd or the sd that the tablet can use? Exactly what are you try or would like to do? More detail will help me beable to answer your question better. But I can tell you what it can do. You can put any android game on a sd card or flash drive and play it off of it or if your talking non android based games, then you can only play them if your streaming them off a computer with the comparable hardware. Or you can play the available PC games for free using nvidias grid tech. Which is rather nice and plays very well.

Is the LTE compatible with other carriers, and if so, which ones? I do not want AT&T.

You can use wikipedia's list of LTE networks and the tech specs for LTE to figure it out.

  NAm LTE: Bands 2,4,5,7,17 (1900mhz, 1700mhz, 850mhz, 2600mhz, 700mhz)

For example - Aruba is 1800 band 3 so the US model won't work there but Bahamas is 700 band 17 so it will work there. Whether your carrier will allow if you are roaming is another question so you may have to buy a local sim. Great that it is an unlocked device.

Does this package still come with the controller and cover?

Unless specifically identified, the tablet does not come with the cover and control. Those items need to be purchased separately.

Does if matter were I buy the tablet from are they all they same no matter where you buy it because the NVidia site doesn't use the term unlock were another places do? So are they different?

I'm sorry I am answering late, but I have the 32 gb lte tab. I love it. I don't use the lte as much because of data restrictions. But I can tell you in most cases from what I've learned an "unlocked" version "will" (should) work with the most common carries. However with the shield. its know to work with only at&t and one other network I believe? At any rate you cant make voice calls with the shield yet unless you root and flash the rom. This is risky business. Bricking your device is litterally terrible. I love flashing roms and critiquing the experience that I have on a regular basis because I just don't like the same ui or visuals for an elongated amount of time..

So brotha (or sister)  know that if you like the concept of the shield most likely you will en joy the experience. However, you may need to optimize your router to get the very best performance and overall satisfaction. I use my shield literally every night since I got it shipped from Newegg. So I'm sure you'll make the right decision. If you have anymore questions ask. It's better to have knowledge than nothing

will this 4g version work in other countries with any 4g sim card ?

The answer there is that it depends. Pay careful attention to the frequency bands that the device supports, and match that up against your carrier frequencies. For instance I run mine on T-Mobile in the US, which only has partially overlapping frequency bands with what AT&T uses. So in some areas I "get lucky", in others I fall back on regular 3G/4G.

So I've tried looking around a little bit and so far cant get a description that states it, I am wondering what the microSD slot is rated storage size wise? Not sure if it was already asked and maybe I missed the question, but I'm going to assume 32GB?

128 is the largest I've fit into mine, but you have to format 64gb drives and larger in a specific fashion or the operating system may not mount the card well, if at all.
