5 out of 5 eggsDynaDock U

Pros: Works, great especially on the plug and play. Once it was set it is hot swappable, or something. I forget the word, but you can unplug the dock from the computer while it is on without having to shut down. My dock lost color, blue so I am exchanging it after threee months, but other than than I like it!

Cons: Lost the blue after three months.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great after tinkering

Pros: Works on everything I've tried it with USB 2.0, 3.0 etc. Video is typically good enough for most movies and shows.

Cons: High speed action or video games occasionally mess with the video. Can take awhile to get things setup correctly when you add new equipment.

Other Thoughts: works great for most users, I'm happy with it. Would not use it on a gaming machine.

5 out of 5 eggsDynadock works like a champ!

Pros: small, sleek, and works great

Cons: a little pricey

Other Thoughts: I hooked up two dvi monitors, but needed one cable that was dvi to hdmi. That is because this thing has one dvi, one hdmi. I hooked up speakers, and a printer to it as well. This thing performs really well. Follow the instructions and download the right drivers before plugging it in. we have had no problems with it and my wife loves it cause now her laptop acts like a desktop at home. The 3 screen feature also works really well, but your laptop screen is the 3rd monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsLags far too much

Pros: It did allow me to plug in a number of peripherals which makes it much easier to deal with not having to plug stuff in and out all the time and reduces wear on ports.

Cons: There were times I was actually happy with it but then it would just lag for no apparent reason. The lag would last an extended time and really made work a bit maddening. If I mirrored screens I could see how much faster the reaction time was on my laptop screen. Often the cursor would start "skipping" across the screen which was really the reason I finally decided to return it. I think I'm just going to buy all wireless peripherals and plug the monitor directly into the laptop. If you want to have 2 monitors connected I realize my solution doesn't help you but I can't recommend this product for anyone looking to connect a single monitor.

Other Thoughts: It would also not function with my Sony wireless headphones. I tinkered with it a great deal with no luck. This may have something to do with windows 8 settings that I'm missing though.

1 out of 5 eggsI wish I hadn't bought it

Pros: You can hook up a lot of things, but not well

Cons: Constantly locks up and has to be power disconnect rebooted. It is unhappy if you mix screen formats (my Sony Viao, SVD 11225 runs in 1920x1080. My 2 19" monitors are running in 1440x900 and there is no way to force a change. This makes for incomplete images between monitors. It just isn't dependable. However, since I need 2 larger monitors, I will buy some 21" that have 1920x1080 and see if that helps.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: This Docking Station transformed my Surface Pro into a powerful Desktop PC. It automatically configured itself without any problems. Everything I've plugged into the USB 3 ports is immediately recognized, transferring files between networked computers is faster, even old keyboards work under the advanced windows 8 Startup option. I'm planning on buying another one for my Home use.

Cons: Just wish It could power / recharge my Surface Pro through the same USB port.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Device

Pros: Very solid after installation. Easy for users to operate. Plenty of ports and the multiple monitor function works great.

Cons: Requires some fiddling to get working the first time.

Other Thoughts: We have two of these units connected to laptops running windows 8. As everyone else said, they need a firmware update to get going, but the process was easy and painless. For windows 8 you have to get the software off the web and not use the included software, but again that is not a big deal to us. We use them in a business setting and do not use them for gaming, so our users have not complained about video lag. Once installed, they have been rock solid. Plan on ordering more these units.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid.

Pros: Works. I run my Dell XPS 13 at home attached to 2 24" Asus monitors just like it was a tower. When I'm on the road, I power down the book, unplug the USB 3.0 and toss the computer in my bag. Also, plenty of USB 3.0 ports. No noticeable lag.

Cons: Install was slightly rocky. Had to run a firware update. Didn't recognize HDMI monitor at first, though the problem was resolved in what I think was a firmware update.

Other Thoughts: I have almost every port available on this station filled and I've never noticed any lag. Runs 2 big monitors beautifully. Would have been a full 5 eggs based on the sustained performance of this thing, but it really was pretty fussy at first. Also, I know it's probably the nicest docking station, but it's still a docking station and it was a bit more than I wanted to pay. Still, if using your laptop like a desktop is important to you, then it's probably worth it.
