1 out of 5 eggsOverpriced and poor performance

Pros: No

Cons: The fan is very loud and my processor idles at 55 ºC.
I was expected at least 20 ºC cooler than that based on the previous one I was replacing. Also, when removing the heatsink to try a different one, the thermal paste was so sticky it pulled my processor straight out of the socket and bent two pins.

There are cheaper heatsinks available that outperform this one.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks!

Pros: Simple Design, fairly cheap for an older style AM2 cooler, low profile, not as loud as people were making it out to be

Cons: Didn't fit *exactly* into previous bracket, but is nice and tight so didn't take an egg off.

Other Thoughts: I got this to replace my older AM2 Headsink. I read some reviews and people were complaining that it was very loud (due to it being a Server Heatsink). It isn't as loud as people are making it out to be. The only issue I had, is I used the underside Motherboard Bracket from my previous heatsink, so the screws didn't fit completely straight and was tough to get in. But when I got the screws it in, fit nicely and no wiggle at all.

The only other issue, was that the images show it coming with a Tube of CPU grease. It does NOT come with this tube, but a pad of grease already applied to the bottom of the heatsink, which is fine for me.

Temps were decent with this cooler, not much better over stock, but a nice replacement when mine broke (62 C average under load)

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Solid Copper, Heavy, You can rotate the fan to blow a different direction

Cons: The black plate that the fan screws down to has the hole where the fan sucks air cut off-center. This means that while you can rotate the direction the fan blows, it won't be centered over the hole (And is probably less efficient then)

Other Thoughts: I'm getting about 34C idle with an Athlon II X4 e610 and arctic silver.

5 out of 5 eggsOnly choice for AM3 in a 1U

Pros: Real copper heatsink with a heavy duty blower, excellent heat dissipation for the size.

Cons: Loud, just barely fits in my 1U SuperMicro - but it does not scrape the top at all. Some might call it a 'perfect fit' but I was a little worried.

Other Thoughts: Only choice for cooling a 95W+ CPU in 1U.

4 out of 5 eggsBeast

Pros: I have bought 4 of these already to use in 1U servers I've built using the AM3 socket. Cheap, reliable, solid construction.

Cons: Super loud, but with something so cheap and small... that can be expected.

Other Thoughts: I will continue to buy more of these as a continue to build AM3 socket servers. They are cheap and efficient.

5 out of 5 eggsnot loud for what its ment for

Pros: Let me clear something up for anyone who might be thrown off by the incredible number of people who are leaving negative reviews centered on the noise level of this fan:
Yes this fan IS loud BUT that's perfectly fine because it is intended (as indicated in the specs) as a SERVER fan NOT a fan for your home computer!

Cons: apparently it wasn't made clear enough in the specs that this fan is for a 1U rack server and not a home computer (though i got it pretty easily and fail to see how others missed it)

Other Thoughts: This fan works perfectly well in your 1U rack server but it would be way too noisy for a home system (which it was never designed for anyway)

4 out of 5 eggssmall jet engin

Pros: Small, fits anywhere half the height of amd stock cooler

Cons: Sounds like a jet engine seriously if there was a jet engine that small it would sound just like it.

Other Thoughts: keeps cool, overall good - 1 egg for noise, don't buy for a PC that you will be placing in a library,

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Kept the CPU cool in a tight space. I had an ITX motherboard in a tiny case and it not only fit, but managed to keep the CPU running cool.

Cons: Nothing really, although I doubt it would be ideal for overclocking.

So far doing its job extremely well. It is loud but then again its NOT meant to be a desktop fan like some people think. ...
